    I was literally praying for the teaching you have provided here! I am no longer lost in my quest of home recording. You provided the sound reasoning, information on flow, and detail of operation that felt like a university lecture. Why of course......you're a doctor! Some presenters on TH-cam have been helpful, some more than others. But you Dr. Wolf, hands down, the best! Thank you so much. Can't wait for more juicy information - plus I liked you staying in the corner like that. You're a good man.

    Just finished watching this vid. That was INCREDIBLE. Very entertaining when you did the song at the end. Very informative and thorough. You are an excellent instructor and the best I have seen by far on TH-cam. I upgraded to Artist mainly from watching your vids and where I was close to giving up on PT...Now I am enjoying it immensely thanks to you!

    Fantastic information! You are very gifted at teaching. Not everyone can convey information to others. Even if the person knows the information, some people just can't teach others and convey the information. I am definitely archiving your videos to go back to, for reference. Thanks for doing your videos.

    I love how proud he was of this beat at the end 😂 nostalgia is a beautiful thing. Great video learned a lot despite using protoola for over a decade. Thanks! Will sub 💪🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾

    It’s very clear detailed step by step and possible to follow along, except when he resorts to generic slang like “this guy” and “harry potter” references which are confusing.

    None of this worked for me for some reason. After creating the instrument track and clicking multi channel plug in under Inserts, I couldn't find an "Instrument" option in the drop down. I tried everything, watched many videos, nothing.

    • @scottwolfguitar
      @scottwolfguitar  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So are you saying there were no instruments in the list? You know you need to download and install all the Pro Tools virtual instrument plug-ins separately right? You should be able to go to your Avid account for those.

    Love the video. Thank you.
    How do you play the instrument through my Yamaha Motif ES 8? I can play the mini grand by clicking the notes with my mouse and I hear it fine, but I need my Yamaha to trigger the virtual instrument so I can play a song. Appreciate the support.

    • @scottwolfguitar
      @scottwolfguitar  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! Your Yamaha should be plugged via usb to your computer, then record enable the mini grand track and you should be able to hear yourself playing. Then start recording and do your performance. Hope that helps!

    What about for ProTools users that don't have an actual MIDI keyboard? Any functionality on the computer keyboard itself? Thanks

    Hello! Do you have a video about importing MIDI stems from Finale? And how to mix those MIDI stems (choose sounds, etc.) once in ProTools? I use Windows.

  • @ambug7156

    why i cant hear my virtual instrument , when i click the keys in the virtual instrument the sound is not coming, it shows check the instrumental path

    • @scottwolfguitar
      @scottwolfguitar  ปีที่แล้ว

      The most common issue is people create an audio track instead of an instrument track, just delete that track and go through the steps one more time: New Track => Instrument Track => then place your instrument plugin. Also, can you hear regular audio ?

    El problema es que no suena el instrumento virtual

    • @scottwolfguitar
      @scottwolfguitar  ปีที่แล้ว

      El problema más común es que el track en que has puesto el plugin es de tipo audio en vez de instrumento virtual.

    no matter which version or update of Pro Tools i have used i continue to have the same issues with midi and VI's on Pro Tools. Hanging notes, lost midi channels assignments when opening my session again, lost or hanging sustain midi commands, occasional copy error where one midi segment does not work on another VI, poor real time midi record timing regardless of input buffer always requiring quantizing or manual adjustment, plus other item, do you experience similar problems?

    • @scottwolfguitar

    I made a midi track but it wont give me any output for the midi track

    • @scottwolfguitar
      @scottwolfguitar  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It doesn’t need one, there isn’t any output. It’s like a piece of sheet music, something needs to read it. Why not just use a virtual instrument track and save the extra work?
