My pleasure. I'm glad my little video gives some sense of our past spent in Mill Hill. I went to St Aidan's school and so the flats were like our guardians watching over us. Much more than just concrete. They were part of the very fabric of Mill Hill's life. Thank you for watching.
Well that was a surprise, I was about 11 or 12 when these flats were built, we used to climb up the scaffolding all the way to the top floor, I didn't know they'd been demolished till I saw your video, but then I've lived in Canada for the past 37 yrs. Thanks again, Jim. Hey Paul check out Port Dover Friday the 13th it's a big bike gathering on the North shore of Lake Erie.
Hi Jim. Will do. Thanks for your comment. I lived in Francis Street from 1964 till 1986. Mill Hill has like the rest of the Town gone to the dogs. All the best. Paul.
Paul's Odds & Ends Hi Paul, a lot of my family lived in St James St, I lived on Brindle St for about 3 years, then at 13 we moved to Holly Tree Village where we lived till I moved to Canada at age 25 and been here ever since. I bought my first real motorcycle over here in 1984 a Honda CX650 had that for 5 yrs then got a Yamaha FJ 1100 had that for about 6 years then I went for 17 years bike free, but the itch was always there lol, so 3 yrs ago I bought a 650 Suzuki Bergman, fully automatic, heated seats & grips, power mirrors & windshield and I love the thing. Well young fella you take care and All the best for the New Year. Jim.
1984 I climbed up the outside of Ewood court, climbed up the lattice brickwork which was for the refuse shoots. Managed to get up to the 15th floor, dark and a bit damp, but bottled it trying to get on the roof ..... I lost the bet!
Thanks for uploading this Paul. My Dad lived on the 13th floor of Ewood Court for a long time, so I spent quite a bit of time there.
