    I am on a 10 year old iMac, so I can not update to the Logic 11 - but THIS is the reason I want more than any other feature. I plan to upgrade when I get my bonus, and am super excited to use this!
    Thank you so much for your channel. I stopped making music for years and now that I am back, you have been a huge help in refreshing what I forgot, and learning new things.

      Google ‘Open Core Legacy Patcher’. You CAN update.

    That chord drag to track, was an amazing insight! Thank you!
    You sounded let down with the update when it came out, You sound more excited now to my ears. You sure taught me something very cool today :)
    Thank you as always, keeping these great reviews/tutorials/workflows.

    All great feature enhancements with LP11. Also can do a real-time effects bounce-in-place now, which is also a nice addition for those with external effects routed via the IO plugin.

    Thank you :-) It seems they fixed the Track Mute for External Instruments too

    I didn't know that Logic finally gained support for hardware CVs, MSEG, LFOs, velocity, aftertouch, etc. modulation of said CVs, and tons more.
    There is a DAW that does.

      Sure, other DAWs are great. The point of this video was for Logic users who use external instruments in their workflow. I never claim that Logic is the holy grail of anything and I love many other DAWs. I’m hoping they’ll continue to add additional features into Logic in this area. I personally use an external MIDI to CV converter but 1000% wish Logic could do more internally.

      @@LogicProLife I was responding to the title of the video, and I find Logic frustrating for external MIDI work (including controller integration). I own and use Logic for writing certain style of songs, but rarely using any external MIDI/CV instruments. For that, Bitwig seems to offer way more. It lets me easily create complex MIDI, CV and audio chains that I can save and reuse. I have not seen anything that integrates IO and modulation quite like Bitwig, and device/plugin control via MIDI controllers is epic. Reaper is my goto for finishing songs. I also have, but rarely use Cubase, FL Studio, Studio One, and Ableton. The first two on that list don't work the way my brain does. The last two I like, but prefer Reaper and Bitwig.

      @lib747 fair enough. And I’ll go change the title to be slightly less click-bait. 🤣

    Thank you for your content. It's really valuable and a pleasure to watch. I spent half the night with you waiting for the Login 11 update and somehow it was a lot more fun than waiting alone.
    Speaking of updates, it's said that Apple has also updated the Drum Designer samples (new, better sound). What would you say, will this affect current projects? Will they sound different (at least the drums) just because of the update? That would be really bad. And if I were to do a backup (by making a copy of 1.0.8.) can I use them alternatively, i.e. 10.8 for ongoing or old projects with no changes to samples or sounds and use 11 for new projects. If you can share any experience, I would be grateful.

      My next video is about this drummer issue. The samples are the same but the processing is different.

      @@LogicProLife Thanks for your answer. I've seen the new video about this topic and you'd answered exactly my question with this.Always good to know whom to ask and whom to follow 🙂.

    Thanks! Do you turn local MIDI off on your external hardware synths when using them with the External Instrument plugin? It seems like theoretically this is the correct thing to do (to prevent double triggering and MIDI feedback loops when recording MIDI from the same synth that is generating the sound), but in some cases I haven't found it to make any audible difference.

    • @cnsengineer
      @cnsengineer 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Edit-actually, when I set my buffer to 1024, I CAN hear doubling when using my Hydrasynth as a controller and sound source. I would expect that I could set "Instrument Without MIDI Thru Function" to the instrument being recorded (Hydrasynth in this case) to prevent this, but it isn't working.

    Hello! First nice video very informative especially all Logic Pro users showing the new update version 11. By the way what Surface Control are you using? If any, can pls advise or recommend what is the best surface control for Logic Pro 11 and with Mac Silicon Chip (M1 to 3) im using M1 MacBook pro Ventura OS. Thank u for reply in advance 😅

    Obligatory "Reaper could already do all of this 15 years ago" -comment.
    Not some random fanboy though. Logic has its own strengths, and if Apple doesn't abandon Logic again and continues with these gray updates it's going to become so much faster to work with

      What’s a “gray” update

    • @LogicProLife
      @LogicProLife  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hmmm, while Reaper is great and can do things Logic can’t, I’m pretty sure I showed a couple of things it couldn’t do 15 years ago and I’m wondering if it can currently do. Like a fully functional built in chord track? Has that been added yet? It wasn’t there as of last year. Or an amazing synth like Retro Synth… has Reaper finally added a set of world class instruments? All shade aside, there are 10-15 features in Realer I would love to incorporate into Logic. Or Studio One. Or Reason. Just not Pro Tools. 🤣
