    Nailed it, thanks to you. I always knew the best way to get a free beer in Australia was to play any Pink Floyd chords in any Aussie pub (I've seen it done in Melbourne with 'Wish You Wre Here') and these are the BEST chords! Thank you!!! You do what nobody else does which is call out the notes, which is great and it's good to have a laugh while learning, too. Cheers.

    This was a great, straight to the point tutorial. I won't say anything bad about really lengthy tutorials because it's good that they're accessible to beginners, but I would like to see more tutorials like this.

    So helpful. I've played guitar for almost five years and picked the piano up a few weeks ago because I always felt like it some to me more naturally than guitar and this is one of my favorite tunes to play on guitar and this will help me transpose my own rendition a lot easier 😁

    There is a video on TH-cam wherein Richard Wright describes how he dramatically changed or enhanced the chord progression of Roger's demo of Breathe. Rick adopted an odd chord that he remembered loving from something he once heard on a Miles Davis album. The chord progression is the soul of Breathe. Which raises the question of why Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull has no complaint with the fact that the Eagles (Don Henley?) copied Anderson's chord progression to create Hotel California. These things must be judged on a case-by-case basis.A not-too-good copy of the video is available here on TH-cam at.....watch?v=kqlJhliN4ys

      It was the miles Davis album “kind of blue” where Wright heard the D#79 chord he loved. Masterfully done. ✌️🎹🎶

      while many classic floyd tunes were initiallized from Roger (and was rearranged almost completely by Richard Wright and Gilmour later), Breathe was however amongs the 6 songs he didn't come up with on dsotm, and amongst the 5 tracks where he was not involved at all musically

    • @uppercut1988
      @uppercut1988 ปีที่แล้ว

      Miles Davis Kind of Blue is where he borrowed. He went from F to G then going back to the E minor he remembered those 2 beautiful chords D7 add 9 and E Flat Dim. Really makes it sound haunting

    I was encouraged to do a piano cover of "Breathe" in my channel, after seeing your huge enthusiasm for the chord sequence of the song. I have done Em, C#m7b5 (instead of A), Cmaj7, Bm7 (instead of Bm), F, G, D7, Ebdim, Em. I totally agree with you, the effect is amazing. Thank you very much for your video!!! (and visit mine if you are interested in my arrangement, I offer the music sheet for free to everyone want it)

    Can someone explain a little more of the music theory behind how this sounds good? Like the E flat diminished chord - E flat is not in the E minor scale. In the A chord C# is not in the E minor scale, but it's in the E dorian scale. does it work to switch between the two modes? and still sound good including that #9 F natural? i sorta get it and sorta don't.

    D7#9 is known as the Hendrix chord among guitar players.
    Well, actually it's E7#9 he plays on lots of songs. Purple Haze immediately springs to mind.
