- If there's one word that can be applied to the Griselda crew, it's "consistency." It doesn't seem like we go more than a few months without at least one Griselda member dropping some new music.
Benny The Butcher has had an impressive run with his Tana Talk series. The projects under this name have become associated with some of Benny's best work. Tana Talk 3, for many fans, was the pinnacle of his output so, when Tana Talk 4 dropped, Griselda stans jumped at the opportunity to see if Benny could top the previous Tana Talk entries. So what do you think? Was this a worthy entry into his Tana Talk run? Does it top Tana Talk 3? Or was it a disappointment? Does Benny need to slow down? Myke is absolutely right Alchemist run has been CRAZY. The amount of albums he produced, the range of beats, the range of artists he's been working with, it's wild.
He’s a chameleon, he can do any vibe and make it work for the artist

This year just feels different maybe because he opened the year up with my 3 favorite projects this year. Just seem like it’s going to be an even better year this year than previous years for Alchemist

It’s crazy Burden of Proof, The Plugs I Met, and Tana Talk all sound so different yet Benny doesn’t sacrifice his lyrics for sound. He sounds so comfortable on all 3 different sounds yet everything seems to make sense. This album is fantastic

Thowy's Revenge definitely bumps in the whip but throw on some headphones and you'll notice this subtle piano flourish that builds really incredibly. The Alchemist insane.
Headphones and a pre-roll is really the best for these albums (everything from FLYGOD to Fetti) on a Bluetooth speaker it sounds so simple but damn Alchemist is crazy with the textures

Alchemist was the MVP of this project. He had Benny up there rapping like he was the new Scarface with those beats.

What I love most about this whole Griselda movement, is that these dudes seem like they’re having so much fuckin fun putting these projects together. You can tell these guys are rap super fans and know wtf real rap fans want.
His ability to put cogent sentences together while effortlessly floating through lines is insane.

This is a fantastic release, and Tana Talk 4 is just fantastic! Although for me, Tana Talk 3 is a modern masterpiece in production, songwriting, and lyricism.

It's getting hard for me to figure out which Alchemist soundscapes I like the most. I like his work with Freddie, especially on Fetti. I like his work with Boldy, especially with Super Tecmo Bo and Bo Jackson. I like his work with Benny on Tana Talk 3 and 4. I like Alchemist when he worked with Mobb Deep. I like Alchemist with Earl. I even like Alchemist when he does weird stuff like that Cycles soundtrack. Incredible run.
Two of my favorite albums this year have come from the Griselda camp. And they were back to back!

I liked that Tana Talk 4 stayed true to the sound of Tana Talk 3 but expanded upon it. I hope that Burden of Proof 2 keeps the same sound as the first.
His Def Jam debut is what I'm worried about. I think Benny can make a quality mainstream album just as long as they don't try to completely water down his sound.
The first burden of proof was more commercial so I think if he stays in that lane he can do it, even tho I don’t love burden of proof like that

Thowy’s revenge reminded me of a sped up version of 5 to 50 from Plugs I Met. Alchemist produced both and Benny skated on both with a more bouncy flow

Overall I think it's gonna be tough to top the lasting power of TT3 and PIM 1. I have to say I think.... I know I like Conways album more, that shit is a big win for me. The Machine that dude.

Definitely for the same reasons that you just mentioned. GDMM mistakes is different to his previous projects but it’s at just a high level as the others. TT4 is good but Plugs 1 and TT3 are better.
You guys should look into reviewing (or at least listen to) the debut album by Fly Anakin, “Frank”. he has had a few projects before (some with pink siifu) but this one really stood out to me. Really special project, and i feel like B especially will fuck with it
In regard to benny, TT4 is a really solid album, the first four song run especially is crazy. “Super plug” is my shit. Both him and conway are starting the year off really strong.

@@sauskeuzumaki121 I would say so, but i think fly anakin will start getting more attention soon. he got guys like madlib and evidence producing tracks on his new record, and madlib has even name dropped him as one of his current favorite rappers. So he (hopefully) may get a bit of a popularity boost soon

A bit tamed on the production side but Benny's delivery was still effective but this one still doesn't hold a candle to the incredible TT3.

TT4 is the most refined Griselda project yet. Benny’s rapping in this was another level. TT3 has an dirty sound that works. It’s like an dope early 90’s Black Moon era project. TT4 was more grandiose on every level. Benny at times reminded me of Peak Jay(Bust a Brick Nick) and Scarface(Tyson vs. Ali). 10 more crack commandments is dope. It should’ve released on March 9th. Also I wanted an more animated Diddy.
I liked it a lot, but kinda felt like tracks 7-9 were a bit weaker. But it made me go back and listen to Tana talk 3 again, and like that project even more
If I had to pick two producers to produce my project, Daringer and Alchemist are my two immediate picks. They both been killing it as of late 💯🔥

Thowy’s Revenge - I’m sure you guys remember one of Benny’s biggest hits to date, “5 to 50”, a song that is a massive fan favorite and one that people lose their minds over at the concerts. “Thowy’s Revenge” is a recreation, or another version of what Alchemist and Benny created on that song, with the flow and bounce, so it’s a very familiar formula that they know works well.
It really seems like all the older rappers in there late 30's and late 40's are putting out the best music..so when people talk this you too old too be rapping shit it never made sense cuz these younger generations are not lyrically fucking with the older rappers at all
