NYU is New York University and yes, Taylor can go by Dr Taylor Allison Swift now. The university said it awarded Swift the doctorate degree because she is “one of the most prolific and celebrated artists of her generation.” Past recipients of honorary doctorates from NYU include Aretha Franklin, former president Bill Clinton, and civil rights leader John Lewis just to name a few so it’s a huge honor!

Her family so proud, and his too (Joes parents/siblings attended)...yet he was too insecure to be there. Not meaning to be a downer and bring him up but I was dumbfounded how he didn't show up - because this wasn't a huge swiftie event or something most taylor swift fans paid attention to until after it was released. But that fact her BF of 5 years couldn't sit in the back of that crowd to watch her I knew it was over., bc this day meant SO MUCH to her.

I was recently called a member of a cult for being a Swiftie. My response to that person was that’s the response I get from people who know next to nothing about her. And I told her she should check more out from Taylor and she may change her mind. And then I told her that’s a compliment to me because I know who she is and what she represents and I wish you did too! I don’t idolize an individual but I do very much support what Taylor stands for and how she protects that with her soul. It’s the movement that I love and how all of us Swifties can identify with it! And it’s okay if you don’t understand that…cause I certainly do and I’m proud of it!!!
I just realized that Taylor said in this speech that she wrote and recorded *11 albums.* Obviously, we assumed that she was talking about the two re-records as well, but all of those songs were already written, she just had to re-record them. However, she made it known that she wrote Midnights and TTPD at the same time in 2022. I think she was talking about THOSE albums, not the re-records
Midnights and TTPD weren’t written at the same time, or done at this point. A good chunk of songs on TTPD are about things that hadn’t even happened yet at that point
@@Hey_Jamie I know they weren’t done, but Midnights came out in 2022 and Taylor said when she announced TTPD that it was an album she’s been working on and excited to announce for 2 years, and in 2024 that means she started it in 2022. Neither were finished, but I think they were both started (and Midnights was almost done)

Please react to the footage of Travis with Taylor at the Eras tour London night 3, I was there and it was unbelievable, everyone was cheering, screaming, laughing and just in awe they shared it with us. I was in the car with my mom when I saw the first clip on instagram. I shrieked and nearly caused her to crash the car! Mind you we were just leaving my birthday lunch so I considered it my personal birthday gift from Taylor. I’m in my late 50’s and mom is nearly 80 and we’re both massive Swifties in the last year or so. We became gonso obsessed that we even made ornaments and decorated a Tay & Trav Xmas tree together….starting in September (we were that convinced that Travis was End Game). It’s been a great bonding experience!

Honestly, I get what you mean. I hate how teenage-me thought nothing of girls' or women's outfits or makeup, like it was just normal for them to look like that and came easily to them. I seriously underrated the amount of work and time they put into how they look in public, and honestly, I still underrate it a bit.
In the US, a Commencement is the awarding of degrees to a graduating class of students.
She is an amazing woman. Very self aware and incredibly intelligent. Posterity will judge her haters. And for those of us that love her and find her to be an inspiration we will always place her on a pedestal and yet still find her soo relatable at the same time. She has contributed to a lot of happy units in my life. And if that contributed to her being a billionaire it’s all good.

My friend took a gap year and so she graduated NYU in 2023. I can’t even mention it bc she gets so upset she missed the opportunity to graduate with THE Taylor Alison Swift. I was also upset bc I could’ve seen Taylor at my friends graduation💔 I kinda made her a swifite so it’s essentially my fault how heartbroken we are over this😭

I went to the eras tour on friday (Wembley N1) and that is the first time I’ve gone to a gig where I felt so safe and loved, there was 0 anxiety (which is odd as I’m usually filled with it), which is a testament to our wonderful swiftie community. Everyone cares for each other. We’re glad to have you in it with us.
Luke, there was a line she said that I thought immediately that you needed to hear. Paraphrasing, but NEVER apologize for being enthusiastic. Every video you react and every video you apologize for it being too much. You do not need to apologize for anything that you are feeling, any feeling you have is valid and important and needs to be felt and expressed. We are along for the ride because we appreciate your willingness to share that excitement or sadness or anger or joy with us. We enjoy experiencing it with you. You shape our emotions with yours. We are so happy and smiling when you are excited. We are empathetic and crying along with you when you are sad. We are vindicated when you are angry at the things that made us angry.
I love watching reaction videos, especially yours, and most especially to new Taylor Swift reactors because I get to watch them laugh and cry and dance and learn that the person that the world is so intent on trying to stifle and shame you for liking is truly a person we can all learn grace and kindness and resilience and respect from. That is why she is so huge and still here and relevant today.

Taylor is such an amazing speaker. The fun part of this is going back and watching after Midnights was announced and released and hearing her weaving lyrics from some of those songs into her speech. I can't remember if you have reacted to You're On Your Own Kid but if you have not, I would definitely suggest that one.

I was a gymnast in the late 90s early 00s and the "style" at the time was to look like a Russian gymnast or previous USSR gymnast (we now know they were starved). I was a 90lb teenager and I was constantly told my body didn't measure up. I struggled a little with eating disorders. Not majorly thankfully. I do remember trying on a swimsuit once and being thrilled that I was so thin that my ribs and hip bones stuck out. My mom took one look at me and told me I was not healthy. She got me back on track thankfully. That's how we all thought of ourselves back then. Gymnasts anyway.
But now I'm all grown up with a husband who thinks I'm beautiful all the time. And I'm trying to teach my children that all bodies are beautiful and to teach them to learn to love the body they've got. ❤

Luke WOW can you believe last week was INSANE especially the first 3 Eras Tour shows in London, England? I just can't wait for your reaction when you attend and watch her live this August 2024! And I know you were thrilled and in awe of her NYU speech!
Luke - my heart just breaks for past you. But, it so fills with joy knowing that we have all found each other.
I hope, and i really do think, that you realize how rare it is for people to see both sides of a relationship and what’s being done to foster or mess it up from each side. When you were talking about younger Luke dating and putting on clothes and cologne and out the door in 5 min to watch a movie, and then thinking of how much effort girls/women will put into the same movie date and it was recognized. It really made me think about being younger and the ridiculous effort I extended to dress nicely, do make up, hair etc to go sit in a dark room for hours with no real recognition. When you are young that is your currency in Love bc you don’t have unlimited money to do extravagant things to do that-so it’s done by extending effort. You are my favorite reactor bc you don’t hesitate to say when something hits home and you see/saw it in certain times of your life. But you also recognize the changes you’ve made as well. It’s so important to have that kind of self awareness for others to hopefully follow😊

Hey thanks for doing this. I had seen Taylor’s speech before but not the introduction. She’s so brilliant and wonderful. She can make me laugh and cry all at the same time like no one else I know or have ever known. ❤
I feel the same about being totally different to family and feeling adopted. I don't talk to my family now as our morals and opinions are completely different. It's always hard when you see everyone else close to family, but the "you're on your own kid" song really helped me realise that being proud of myself and raising myself is more than enough, and that's what made me so emotional about her speech here.
Also to add I have my own husband and daughter now and although i suffer from Cptsd, adhd and depression, things really have become better and I know i'm giving my daughter everything she needs to feel secure
Thank you for posting this. I was so lucky to be there at Yankee Stadium that day to watch my daughter and huge Swiftie graduate from NYU with her Masters Degree. It was an amazing speech. Seeing this brings me back to that amazing day.

as much as i think your perspective on forgiveness is a very wise response, I also think that "forgiveness" and simply moving on aren't always one in the same. As taylor has said "you don't have to forgive, just move on." I think that holding resentment, and anger, is normal, as long as it isn't overtaking you. Remember it's okay to care for yourself first! I loved this video, and I admire how sincere you are with your emotions !
