It's nice, but for the money it should have a proper enclosed shower space/toilet. The interior space isn't well utilized. There is no reason why there can't be a bed over the truck cabin. Too spartan for the money. Thumbs down.
I think these truck bed campers, have soo many places for improvements, and places to slide out. People struggle to think outside the box, literally. These could really use someone who can. The potential is not even discussed. If someone does hit the bullseye, hunters and deep bush exploring would be where this could shine. 4 adults sitting at a table comfortably! Extremely stable if you detach.
We are working on a custom Expedition Overlanding Camping Rig as well. Loki Rig looks really good 👍 It's amazing how much costs can go up when changing from a E450 chassis to a F650-F750 chassis.
Finally a truck bed camper for an 8’ bed. Since the idea behind camping is to be outside, the cramped interior shouldn’t be that terrible. I’ve never seen one in the states but the whole thing looks very liveable
That is a customized space cap by ARE. It is for commercial use and is heavy. After adding on what they're putting in it it is going to be even heavier. The space cap is not cheap,Is at over $10,000 for the Diablo series ,Which that is what that is. No thanks.
I was trying to remember the name of that. Before I got my northern lite, I contemplated purchasing the space cap and building it out, but the lack of space was too small.
You're getting a smaller more compact unit but you're not saving much weight. I like the design but wish the aluminum/fiberglass construction combo would have delivered a unit that weighed LESS than 2000lbs. I wonder if it would be possible to build something like this with aluminum internal structure and carbon fiber shell and get just the shell to be in the 600lb range before adding to the internal structure buildout, keep it minimal and get a total weight of 1500lbs or less to better suit a half ton pickup.
@@karenvickers8165 the major world's cork production comes from my country. I know the industry well. A fallen tree would never have any quality cork to extract. The cork is just the tree shell that is removed from the tree every 9 years, and regenerates. Those trees live for centuries, they are protected since the middle ages, and they just don't fall like that. The world's major company serving cork to the car industry is called Amorim SA, and they don't have any production line of fallen trees cork, and nobody in the industry ever heard about such non-sense.
Why would they even boast that when they could just say that cork is harvested from trees that aren't killed? I know how cork is harvested. It doesn't kill the tree. Fricken marketing 101 right there. Probably got their advice from people who call EVs "eco friendly"
Very cool camper it better be for how expensive it is. For the price of the camper I can buy a transit van and have a four-wheel-drive conversion done on it. But that’s my two cents.
1/ starting price USD 70,000. exorbitant. 2/ starting weight 2,200 lbs (1000 kg). too heavy for 1/2 ton truck. must have 1T truck or greater. 3/ appears to be a good product for a very small market segment. myself, do not see the value proposition.
You get what you pay for...... If you want cheap then you get the problems that go with CHEAP...... If you pay for quality then you can get reliability....., If I am going to be living full time I have to have reliability...... End of story.....

Is the main idea of this camper shell so you can remove it when you’re not using it? It must be Otherwise why would I want to have to get out of my vehicle to go to bed at night when with a van everything is accessible
I want to see one that is also a houseboat that accordions out like a origami box able home, and built by a team of a.i. powered robots that smile with very human looking faces and say that they are giving em away for free for creating the thankful robots.
A place to play cards? Ever try playing cards sitting next to someone? Give me back my booth and a window. I don't want to stare at the wall, its not why I go.
Aside from the shocking price, it really "looks the business" but the interior and usability falls short. Designs from the 70's, 80s, 90s were superior and I dont know why they arent revisited today. The upshot is that it looks like all the effort went to the outside and nevermind someone has to live inside. Do what, just throw a pile of parts inside and let the occupants work it out later? Come to think of it, that would have been a better idea.
