Personally I think the 2 cabin set up is the way to go!
(Even if it means two guests sleep in the salon one or two nights a year !)

i like this boat a lot. i was on board one in newport boat show last year. felt great - looks great. felt like the perfect size and proportions. i suspect some grouse about handholds below. probably could add some to ceiling, if crossing oceans. but be honest: this is NOT a kraken or a garcia. This is NOT for taking a family 3000 miles across an ocean. The boat is not heavy displacement, it does not have a full keel. it does not have protected rudders. the hull is likely not thick, and there is no crash box at front. this boat is not category A in reality. If you seek a world cruiser with family and kids -- look elsewhere. what this boat is great for is weekend and coastal cruising. 99% of sailors fit that description also, i LOVED the way the head does NOT open directly across from galley! good vibes on that. I loved this boat when i was aboard. I think this is a great boat for 99% of sailors. I hope to be able to afford one some day!

Hey man, I was looking at this boat for something I could cruise around the world one day with a family (starting in australia)... looks like I'm in that 1%. What yachts would you recommend under 45ft w 2 cabin 2 heads, sleeping for 2 in saloon, spare storage room (or 3rd cabin for storage) and somewhere to store a 130kg 2.8m inflatable dinghy?

@@backyardblasters I'm no expert. I know Kraken Yachts, and Garcia Yachts. There are probably half a dozen more that are known for their true commitment to SAFE ocean passages / easy repair anywhere. Try Googling "true blue water cruising sailing yachts," also "expedition sailing yachts." Maybe "explorer sailing yachts." The guy who founded Kraken has some TH-cam videos where he discusses what he believes is the rather shameful marketing of family boats as "blue water," when they would become disabled in a collision at sea, or sink, or sheer off their keel in an accident and capsize, or aren't correct for easy repairs anywhere, or lack safety or shelter features that, while not needed everyday, are simply invaluable in heavy weather, or truly life threatening conditions. Good luck! TT

@@backyardblasters i know not much. kraken is one. garcia another. i think the idea is "explorer" or "expidition" yachts. the founder of kraken has some video on what he sees as the bs around the "blue water" category. the boats should be like tanks. able to survive serious issues. keep their steering, etc. handle massive hits to keel. his idea is when two thousand miles out - you need something that can take a massive blow and save lives. Good luck.

While chatting with someone using the previous version of beneteau he said that the older ones are more durable and safer. He said that now lighter but ultimately not enduring boats are built to increase performance. Also, by adding solar panels to his boat, he met the requirements of the boat's electrically powered cooler light etc. very comfortably and practically. I wonder why these panels are still not put on the original model.

    • @tsubadaikhan6332

Oh, they'll add solar panels. As many as you want. Just one of the many, MANY, optional extras...

That wide open salon looks great for liveaboard but brings me concerns for sailing in open oceans.

How long are you actually going to spend "sailing open oceans" compared to anchor or at a marina? Not much.

Thanks for posting, interesting boat and great presentation. QQ re hull color - this blue looks fantastic. Is it a 'custom wrap'? Seems white is still standard, with pearl grey as an option... So, from where does this amazing blue come from? TX!

Really not a fan of these new designs on sailing boats. Inside, they are starting to look like bland apartments you see cropping up all over the place. Don't look too practical either. I mean it's nice and all to have a 'clear walk way' to the forward cabin, but it's a boat... it doesn't need clear walk ways. It needs grab handles and places to brace yourself against. This one looks like somewhere you'd live and be permanently moored up in and never at sea, or just a couple of hours close to shore now and then.

Again amazed that manufacturers need to change the boats every 5 years to a complete new concept. I like the previous design. I truly find the lack a centre mounted plotter a problem for the skipper to be in sight of position at all times. It’s as if they no longer can support the previous design, now has too many flaws.

The 41.1 interior was better. The windows are much bigger height wise and I liked the layout much more. The new interior is a big step backward for my taste.
