- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2012 Nissan Altima 3.5 SR. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
I love this car. Has been around since 2007 and still is one of the best looking midsize cars on the road.
For an Altima, the start sound at 1:27 is awesome. Perfect noise.

It's nice to see that this car has separate radio and climate controls. No touch screen to be distracting. Yet it still looks modern.
am watching this video because i just missed my dad's '11 altima.... which was totaled 3 months ago. we'll never forget you alt !!
I tested my brother's 2007 Altima V6 with 80k miles and rides great. No rattles at all, very solid and the interior plastics are of great quality, dash and doors have soft touch plastics. I dont understand why people r complaining about interior quality.

Wow, I just rented a 2011 2.5 for two weeks. It wasn't to bad but I wish it was a 3.5. Didn't have enough power for my lead foot. Keep up the good work!!

I used to own a 2011 Nissan Altima 3.5 it had so much horsepower. The transmission was so smooth, etc. I miss that car.

I drove a 2009 Altima with a CVT. It definitely takes some getting used to. Plus it was almost impossible to pass on the highway (especially in the LA area where I was at the time) because there's no downshift, thus no burst of torque. Nissan should've at least tweaked the revs a bit to make passing easier.

Im finna get an 08 3.5 in a couple of weeks! Im only looking at models between 2007-2009 because i like the front end better before they refreshed it in 2010!

I may have underestimated the pure essence of this car. What I didn't know about these Altimas is that they share components with Renault Laguna. Yes, even the newer Sentras share components wit the Renault Megane. We don't why some of the newer Nissans share components with Renaults, but we think that Nissan may be onto something. Since I love Renaults, I had to accept this fact. Americans thought that Renault no longer sold cars in the States, but what they didn't know is that the newer Altimas and Sentras share components with Renaults for some strange unknown reason. Not to mention, this car is a lot better than the Hyundai Sonata and the Kia Optima.

@grod75 the altima has 3 small speakers by the front windshield, 2 on front doors, 2 on rear doors, and 2 by the rear windshield.

2021 and i still want this car
I like the styling better than the current Altima. Used to have a 2007 2.5 S for four years & was a very nice well rounded car & was easily the best looking in the class for it's day.
I would totally recommend one. I have a 2012 2.5s . Its been in the family for 12 years and now I drive it daily.
Very economical car with impressive performance. Car design still holds up as well.
Plus, if youre a guy who likes to jam out in their cars, the stereo is very good.

@@joshuawoods4577 are you a christian also i have a 08 nissan altima 2.5s k50 paint code ,black interior has a few paint chips on door bumpers and hood as my first car other than that good car also has 130k or so miles.
I’m lucky to have the Nissan Altima 2011 hybrid Version it have about 200hp its fast as a v6
Edgy and somewhat daring exterior styling coupled with a commodious and luxuriously appointed interior, which indicates to me that Nissan has heeded the persistent complains about the sub-par interior aesthetics of earlier Altimas. To me the most critical aspect of this heady development, that it's seriously encroaching into Maxima's territory. I mean as it stands today, there's precious little differentiates the higher trim level Altima from the Maxima itself.

Cool I just bought the same car in black, though I have only put 500 miles on it , so far it's great. Love all the features! I really can't compare it to my other vehicle I usually drive (2000 Suburban) because they're not in the same league, but the seats are a lot more comfortable and the engine blows away the chevy 8 cylinder.....Great engineering, great price, great car and great dealer experience. I maybe back for another.....

Despite having the CVT transmission these cars are a great value for the money.

I think you should consider keeping the radio off when you're showing cars to customers (or, at the most, play it very briefly to show how it works). It's distracting and increases your risk of losing a sale without providing any benefit.

my wife has the 3.5 and its been a great car so far. Totally a family car and has a 16 gallon gas tank. The 4 cyl should be much better on gas. The inside is above average in quality.

My sentiments exactly. The CVT was developed with fuel efficiency in mind, while maintaining power at a certain speed, thus creating a smooth ride, and comfort in mind.

Since 02 the Altimas been an amazing sedan. The 02 took sedans into a sporty-good looking-fun to drive car. Then the 07-12(the one were watching) the Altima took technology and looks again to a new level. Sure the 2012 doesn't look as nice as some sedans now but the 2013 will be coming out soon... and that'll take the mid-sized sedan category into a new level :)
This is the perfect car for me, Hoping to get it soon in black, totally gonna save some gas with it.
I always liked the Altimas, and plus Nissan does all those tests to make sure it'll last. I'd buy one of these.
if i needed a family 4 door on a budget, this would be it, of course with the vq35 only :)

@Corkoth55, personally I don't know, who would want it in white, still you may want to inform yourself about this strange phenomenon about the popularity of white colour. While other colours, (particularly secondary and tertiary colours) come and go in favour, white, together with black emphatically stays in favour. On top of that, it's pretty universal too. since it cuts through all sort of automotive market-segments, from small to large and inexpensive to expensive vehicles.
@boeing797screamliner I have an 08, Its very quiet and smooth and there is absolutely no rattling; the interior plastics are very good quality as other people have already said. As for your rental experience, its a rental and people beat those cars up, so dont judge based on that. I also spun out at 140k causing me to jump over an island.3500 worth of damage. Now thats a good card. Its very stable, im surprised it didnt flip. I owe nissan my life.

I have a 08 altima 2.5s and i might try to get the wood parts and tan leather seats the inside is black as of right now.

@FrenchValleyAirport The new ones are pretty reliable, and they get good gas mileage and are smooth, so theyre good for luxury cars, but not for sports cars

@mikey0277 I speculate, but it's common practice by new car dealerships that their demonstrator cars are selected from the fully loaded, top trim levels, so prospective buyers can evaluate most of the available features on that particular model.
the only way to go with any altima sedan is the rear decklid spoiler option, a nice touch to the vehicle
It's kinda worrying that the car that imitated this in GTA:IV, a game from 3+ years ago (accounting for when they designed the cars to go in the game) looks better than this does now... redesign most definitely! Thanks for the tour though Kyle, excellent and interesting as always :)
@Joseph9536 Yes they are. Automakers use 4300k which is white but has a slight amount of yellow. It looks more white at night.
Kind of interesting to see HID Halogen headlights because I thought only the 2004-2010 Toyota Sienna Limited had that feature.

We rented this one in Newark, NJ and returned it to Washington DC Reagan Airport. Interior nice, but too big. As big as my Accord V6. I'd consider a Toyota for my next car.
@CamaroGuy10 CVTs don't even improve on fuel economy. In fact The Altima is among the smallest and lightest midsize sedans in the segment, with fuel economy that trails the crowd.
You and me both, at least! The dashboard and/or center console don't really leave much legroom while sitting up front. In fact, living in Colorado, I have seen only two or three of these newer Altimas in the last year.
@CamaroGuy10 lol ya cvt really slows down the acceleration but it does have much better fuel economy then any automatic out there
I was looking at one of these to replace my 1993 Infiniti J30. My neighbor has one so I didn't want to seem a copycat. I just settled for a 2008 G35.
@FrenchValleyAirport Continuously Variable Transmission. Basically its the same sort of transmission used in golf carts, and it makes the car's engine a continuous droning sound instead of the up and down gearchange noise. Theyre good for efficiency,not good for fun
Can someone please explain to me the problem with a CVT? I've driven a Prius with one and it was very lax, but I also drive an 08 Altima Coupe 2.5 with CVT and it feels nice. I also drive a 1982 Mustang 5.0 with a 4-speed manual and the Nissan is pretty even in performance, which is impressive for having half the displacement. I say embrace technology like CVT's and small displacement, high power engines, although ultimately, I prefer a manual gearbox.

@FrenchValleyAirport To try to put it in perspective, think of the sound of a gasoline generator. That constant sound that never changes. CVT's make the cars engines run at a constant speed when accelerating, so they sound annoying, like a generator

Thats a good car. Glad to see a v6 altima for a change. Nissan knows how to make a good v6 engine. The cvt that they decided to attach such am engine to...really detracts from an otherwise ok car.

@datpimpinboy Decent, yes, but nobody expected a "10 MPG boost" we'd say perhaps 1-5 if even, but clearly that isn't delivered, and I'm sure that the Altima is more aerodynamic than an Accord. The CVT is not what it claims to be.
Cvt issues aside.. this is a rather attractive car and the interior is to my opinion beautiful damn you nissan for the horrendous jatco cvts...

@Jakeman2164 the CVT isnt that bad tho, its good for the economy, the 7 speed gear box is for sport cars, like the 370Z and the G37. they really should offer it as an option, especially on the maxima since they call it 4 door sport car
