- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2012 Nissan Altima 3.5 SR. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
I love this car. Has been around since 2007 and still is one of the best looking midsize cars on the road.
It’s kinda like a car to drive in the winter snow like the exterior and is like a wedding anniversary cake with blond seats inside

It's nice to see that this car has separate radio and climate controls. No touch screen to be distracting. Yet it still looks modern.
I tested my brother's 2007 Altima V6 with 80k miles and rides great. No rattles at all, very solid and the interior plastics are of great quality, dash and doors have soft touch plastics. I dont understand why people r complaining about interior quality.

Wow, I just rented a 2011 2.5 for two weeks. It wasn't to bad but I wish it was a 3.5. Didn't have enough power for my lead foot. Keep up the good work!!

Edgy and somewhat daring exterior styling coupled with a commodious and luxuriously appointed interior, which indicates to me that Nissan has heeded the persistent complains about the sub-par interior aesthetics of earlier Altimas. To me the most critical aspect of this heady development, that it's seriously encroaching into Maxima's territory. I mean as it stands today, there's precious little differentiates the higher trim level Altima from the Maxima itself.
2021 and i still want this car
I like the styling better than the current Altima. Used to have a 2007 2.5 S for four years & was a very nice well rounded car & was easily the best looking in the class for it's day.
I would totally recommend one. I have a 2012 2.5s . Its been in the family for 12 years and now I drive it daily.
Very economical car with impressive performance. Car design still holds up as well.
Plus, if youre a guy who likes to jam out in their cars, the stereo is very good.
I drove a 2009 Altima with a CVT. It definitely takes some getting used to. Plus it was almost impossible to pass on the highway (especially in the LA area where I was at the time) because there's no downshift, thus no burst of torque. Nissan should've at least tweaked the revs a bit to make passing easier.

I used to own a 2011 Nissan Altima 3.5 it had so much horsepower. The transmission was so smooth, etc. I miss that car.

Im finna get an 08 3.5 in a couple of weeks! Im only looking at models between 2007-2009 because i like the front end better before they refreshed it in 2010!
@Joseph9536 Yes they are. Automakers use 4300k which is white but has a slight amount of yellow. It looks more white at night.

@grod75 most of the time, that last speaker is a woofer, or in some cases cars have two woofers.
the only way to go with any altima sedan is the rear decklid spoiler option, a nice touch to the vehicle

I may have underestimated the pure essence of this car. What I didn't know about these Altimas is that they share components with Renault Laguna. Yes, even the newer Sentras share components wit the Renault Megane. We don't why some of the newer Nissans share components with Renaults, but we think that Nissan may be onto something. Since I love Renaults, I had to accept this fact. Americans thought that Renault no longer sold cars in the States, but what they didn't know is that the newer Altimas and Sentras share components with Renaults for some strange unknown reason. Not to mention, this car is a lot better than the Hyundai Sonata and the Kia Optima.

@CamaroGuy10 CVT transmission are voted one of the best transmission ever made if you didn't know i had a 2006 nissan murano with CVT and there was always smooth constant power and no shift shock so i don't understand why people are complaining about this transmission ?

Cool I just bought the same car in black, though I have only put 500 miles on it , so far it's great. Love all the features! I really can't compare it to my other vehicle I usually drive (2000 Suburban) because they're not in the same league, but the seats are a lot more comfortable and the engine blows away the chevy 8 cylinder.....Great engineering, great price, great car and great dealer experience. I maybe back for another.....

Despite having the CVT transmission these cars are a great value for the money.
This is the perfect car for me, Hoping to get it soon in black, totally gonna save some gas with it.

@grod75 the altima has 3 small speakers by the front windshield, 2 on front doors, 2 on rear doors, and 2 by the rear windshield.
I like the horn. Macho horns like this should be standard on all cars, IMO.

@grod75 I get what your saying, but im not sure. I haven't had the chance to check it out. I think the center speaker works the same as the other 2 speakers in the front.
my wife has the 3.5 and its been a great car so far. Totally a family car and has a 16 gallon gas tank. The 4 cyl should be much better on gas. The inside is above average in quality.

Love the blonde interior. Black interior looks cool also, though I prefer light colors inside.
Since 02 the Altimas been an amazing sedan. The 02 took sedans into a sporty-good looking-fun to drive car. Then the 07-12(the one were watching) the Altima took technology and looks again to a new level. Sure the 2012 doesn't look as nice as some sedans now but the 2013 will be coming out soon... and that'll take the mid-sized sedan category into a new level :)
So if you can just press the button on the doorknob to unlock the door, what's to keep a burglar from getting inside?

I think you should consider keeping the radio off when you're showing cars to customers (or, at the most, play it very briefly to show how it works). It's distracting and increases your risk of losing a sale without providing any benefit.

I always liked the Altimas, and plus Nissan does all those tests to make sure it'll last. I'd buy one of these.

@datpimpinboy Decent, yes, but nobody expected a "10 MPG boost" we'd say perhaps 1-5 if even, but clearly that isn't delivered, and I'm sure that the Altima is more aerodynamic than an Accord. The CVT is not what it claims to be.

You and me both, at least! The dashboard and/or center console don't really leave much legroom while sitting up front. In fact, living in Colorado, I have seen only two or three of these newer Altimas in the last year.

Cvt issues aside.. this is a rather attractive car and the interior is to my opinion beautiful damn you nissan for the horrendous jatco cvts...
Look at the strings that release the read seats. I'm sure they're prone to rip right off one day.
Clean my car fairly frequently, I open things with dude-like strength. Haven't pulled them off yet.

@CamaroGuy10 CVTs don't even improve on fuel economy. In fact The Altima is among the smallest and lightest midsize sedans in the segment, with fuel economy that trails the crowd.

@Jakeman2164 the CVT isnt that bad tho, its good for the economy, the 7 speed gear box is for sport cars, like the 370Z and the G37. they really should offer it as an option, especially on the maxima since they call it 4 door sport car
It's kinda worrying that the car that imitated this in GTA:IV, a game from 3+ years ago (accounting for when they designed the cars to go in the game) looks better than this does now... redesign most definitely! Thanks for the tour though Kyle, excellent and interesting as always :)

@@joshuawoods4577 are you a christian also i have a 08 nissan altima 2.5s k50 paint code ,black interior has a few paint chips on door bumpers and hood as my first car other than that good car also has 130k or so miles.
It will look a lot better with HID projector headlamps.

@igeekone You can see the color difference between the fogs and headlights. They are true HID.
Kind of interesting to see HID Halogen headlights because I thought only the 2004-2010 Toyota Sienna Limited had that feature.

Very nice, sporty and confortable car at the same time. But i'd get a Coupè. I love this dashboard it's a bit different from others. and the back camera integrated in the radio display isn't that a new thing??
What's with the odd number of speakers in some cars? For example, this one has 9, and the Nissan Quest that Kyle just reviewed has 13... Is there a "center" speaker somewhere in the car?
So... is it true that the Altima has a noisy interior? 'Cause I've had a few experiences with some rentals that are base models and doesn't have any of the options, and they had the loudest interiors I have ever experienced. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
if i needed a family 4 door on a budget, this would be it, of course with the vq35 only :)
