Love these little books l have made a secret garden of my imagination in it using some text from the original book of that name. A favourite childhood book. I used a key and all sorts of hidden tuck spots and pockets. I so enjoyed it,but made it my story. Love watching your videos. Thank youx
Same ^^ but Tbh in my second hand store inhave seem certain books multiple times over the time. So sometimes i would buy two of them and for other books i decided to at least try reading it once before cutting it up.
Go green! Like the series of altered books. The blue one has great collage images. Thank you for sharing finds and am enjoying watching your altered book as I’m new to junk journals. You’re a great inspiration!
Lovely decorated pages, tfs. Such sweet little vintage books. I'd probably go for using the Amateur Gardening pages to cut up and keep the book cover for another project 🌼 Have you ever used the dust jackets in a project?
I have a book similar in size to the one that you are altering. I started working in that book a while ago. This video has inspired me to pull that book out and to continue working in it. ❤️
I think you should use the other green book when the time comes. Lovely to have fraternal twins. Beautiful botanical images in the blue book.🌹A few projects on the go is always exciting
Do you have a video tutorial of how you prepped your current altered book junk journal before you started decorating the pages? A video showing how many pages you removed, and your thought process of how to remove them to avoid weakening the spine?
The images in the blue book are gorgeous - I definitely wouldn't use it as my altered book -- use the green one instead. My 2 cents worth (lol). From Vancouver, Canada.
My opinion is that it's better to find a book without images in the size you like or one in poor shape and repurpose it when you don't intend to incorporate the original book images into your journal.
Thats what i found: "Gesso is very similar to white acrylic paint, only thinner. It dries hard, making the surface more stiff. Gesso prepares (or "primes") the surface for painting, making the surface slightly textured and ready to accept acrylic paint. Without gesso, the paint would soak into the weave of the canvas" I prime my pages with gesso because its thinner and spreads better. I would waste lots of paint trying that with paint. And i mix my own texture paste with it as a base. Also: Gesso has a more chalky look and feel to it i think.
Ooh sorry i misunderstood your question!! You would use acrylic paint or gesso over parts of the page to "dampen" the effects. To push it more into the Background. And because its an excelent primer you can do stuff ontop.
Don't make a fuzz about glue sticks guys! There is no ultimate glue stick. How to choose: Just try some you can get your hands on. If you don't like them use them to glue big stuff, like pages together so it doesn't get wasted. or try Pritt. I prefere a needle bottle with white glue in it. Its more filigry :) and it saves you glue. Pages also don't buckle because you are only using a little bit of glue
@@christianategart7148 @user-jknv4de9c I looked carefully on the number of the pages and it seems she did take out pages 🤗 (you can see that between the pages 64 and 79. And some pages later its also already 120 something. So it was way bigger before. Normally you take out some pages from each signature and then glue pages together to have a more sturdy underground. Not as necessary If you only do collages though. But for mixed media its a good idea to do so.

Very inspirational~
Hi there 😊

The blue book is to beautiful to cut. I have also a little flower book which im to sorry to cut......
Hey I love your videos but I have a question can I use a bullet journal for junk journaling?
I like that don't use printable and use the things that you already have
Do you sell these? So pretty!
What would be the difference in adding white acrylic paint and gesso?

How did you choose your brand of glue stick? I am using Scotch and not loving it.
Yes, what brand do you use Meg?

Did you prepare the little book by removing pages? I could not find a video for that with this book.
I’m interested in seeing the process as well.
