Thanks to you I'm about to go buy my first concertina! I had tried a used 48 button in the store & couldn't figure out the pattern--your video gave me the courage I needed to go back & try again! Thank you!

Thank you very much for these videos. I have recently gotten a Lachenal english concertina that looks identical to the one you have! This has all been very informative.

Thank you so much! A favourite instrument? - it's got to be the six-string guitar which gave me a wonderful living all my working life!

I'd like to play traditional English music (medieval, morris, hornpipes
& folk) on a concertina, but don't know what type to buy? The
English concertina sounds... well, more 'English' and has all the notes.
It also seems more straightforward than the Anglo as each button
produces one note. The Anglo on the other hand was more popular for folk music and I've read that it can have more 'bounce' when played, but may also have notes missing. There are also lots of Anglo tunings to choose from i.e. C/G, G/D, D/A, A/E, F/C & more! It's really doing my head in trying to work out which one to go for. Please help!

@@etik6421 I have two restored Lachenal concertinas. One English (like the one in the video), and an Anglo C & G. I use the Anglo (with its hand straps) much more on stage than the English. Unless you have a neck strap, you need to be sitting when playing English. Not so, with Anglo. Do like I did, and get them both! Good luck.
