  • I look outside the box, inside the box, build some of the figures and give my thought on the kit. More great content from Perry Miniatures, but not without some flaws.

    Thanks for the nice review. I've also got these, but still have to build them. The gaps look a little too big to fill them with paint. I suggest a little liquid green stuff from Citadel will do the trick. Looking forward seeing them painted.

      I ended up using green stuff/milliput to fill the gaps. Liquid green stuff would work for the finer gaps but would probably need several applications to the bigger ones! Still nice miniatures despite it.

      I’m looking forward to painting them (when I get round to it). Just need to fill a few gaps!

    Love the Video. How did you paint you napoleonic prussian landwehr infantry regiments? I never get the prussian blue and the grey trousers right.

      Thank you. Getting the blue and grey tones right is a bit of a struggle that depends on what looks and feels right to the person painting it I think. I can’t remember which greys I used for the trousers, but I think I used Vallejo Imperial Blue as the main colour on the jackets, then mixed with the ‘Prussian Blue’ colours for highlights. I might have put a dark blue wash over the initial coat and then reapplied it before highlighting, that gets you a free tone shift and a little depth at the cost of time. Hope that helps.

    Great overview. Was standing at Salute yesterday with a box of these in my hand and was so close to buying them. Wish I had now. 😂😂

      Thank you, very kind! They're nice figures despite the flaws, I'm just filling some of the gaps with epoxy at the moment to complete them.

      Completely agree, I’ve already earmarked a couple of boxes of Russian/Prussian Dragoons from Perry that are in development! The options included are excellent.

      @@thelastbattalion3509 they are, I'm mainly an 18mm collector but keep an eye on 28mm because of my brother. Have started putting a small army together to face him.

      Me too very much so. I’ve got a full regiment of Prussian Dragoons pencilled in for building from that set!

    I remember my brother said either the french dragoons or cuirassier had a similar issue with the seam line down the face. Painted up well after clean up.

    • @thelastbattalion3509
      @thelastbattalion3509  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it’s a recurring feature across their sets including the French Dragoons. Given those and these were made ten years apart there must be a reason. They still paint really nicely but cleaning them up of a faff.

      @@thelastbattalion3509 yeah, pretty much my brothers thought on the. Loves them but clean up was a pain.
