    This was a grate help for my B6 with a B7 facelift with S4 bi xenon headlights!I couldn't get rid of the yellow caution for a long time,VCDS,wiring diagrams and almost purchased a 'headlight range control module'…..only to end up pulling out a '10 amp fuse instead of a 5amp fuse' in less than 10 secs and problem solved.Thanks for this idea…..

    I once got this warning light after replacing my xenon bulbs, and couldn't figure out why. Turns out it was my own fault, and the plug for the left front headlight wasn't plugged in all the way. This caused a bad connection which freaked out the car (comfort unit I guess?). Anyway, I plugged it in properly, and deleted the code in vag-com, and problem was solved. No new part necessary. Thanks for the video :)

    2010 A4 Prem Plus. After the messege dipped headlight I replaced both D3S bulbs and now the headlights work, They are now blue(Kensun brand from amazon). Then got " Headlight range control defective". Removed the 5 amp right and left fuse recommended above, no more error. I tried each seperately and got the error so removed both. So far so good. Will take a ride in the dark to see if the lights still work.

    Awesome video bro
    Thank you, how do you fix the actual issue without removing the fuse.
    We recently had a small fender bender and we will assume it’s the same headlight we salvaged from the same side that it was hit.

    Thank you soon much!! I've been having this same problem, for a while now. When i changed my bumper for an RS style one the light came up! I went to the Audi dealership and a guy told me they will charge me 300$ to remove it and it will take about 2 hours. I was at the point of buying a new headlight. Thank you very much for this tip.. saved me a lot of money! 5 STAR RATING!!

    Removing fuse removes that error, but does the headlights work properly? What exactly is the issue?

    • @DaytonCarCare
      @DaytonCarCare 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Doesn't effect headlight function just the self leveling system for them (which isn't necessary for people that know how to adjust their headlights manually with the proper tool. Typically an allen key or some with a phillips head screw driver). There is a level sensor on both the front and rear (left side) mounted on a control arm. The prices range from $50 to $150 depending on where you buy them from. The sensor is the same PN for front and rear.

  • @A-DUBCLUB

    If its the warning for dipped headlights for cars with the auto headlight range.. its the sensor thats located at your control arm. Theres one on the front left and rear left, it mounts to the vehicles chassis with a swing arm clipped to the lower control arm. Also check to make sure the motor inside the headlight is ok too. This happens alot on lowered cars that has auto headlight range. Headlight tilts up and down automatically wen driving and cornering and it uses the lower control arm to know wen to dip headlight tilt up n down

    Hi guys, thanks for video, it's good to know, but I have another problem and now is showing the same warning for the lights at my A4 b6 1.8T 04/05. It started few days ago and I believe it's connected with the front and rear abs/speedometer sensors I've changed. Any ideas maybe? I think it's connected because when I was buying the sensors, some vendors were asking if car has automatic/self leveling lights, so they know which sensor to sell to me. Thanks for your answer. Ivan

    So if I have aftermarket headlights and getting aftermarket hid's is this the way to go? Like I have the warning already but not sure if its due to the aftermarket lights/hids or maybe I I do have a bad sensor? Audi A4 B6.

    What does the red blinking light on the hood means? Mine popped up and I can’t figure out what it could be. I’ve closed my hood and have opened it just fine.

    • @DaytonCarCare
      @DaytonCarCare 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sensor is bad on the hood. Maybe just cleaning it will solve the "red light" problem. My trunk does the same thing. I have to close it a few time to get the light to turn off.

    • @gpadog
      @gpadog 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DaytonCarCare also if the sensor is bad, you can unplug it or cut one of the wires and the light goes away. the plug connector is near the bottom of the radiator support, close to the snub mount.
