I tilled up a 20 acre field, did not have a disc. My tractor is just a 40 HP unit so any disc I could use would not be very heavy. The tiller I used is a reverse rotation, did a great job in one pass. It is now a very smooth, high yield hay field. Worked out great, not sure I would have saved any time making multiple passes with a disc.

I did the same with my field due to wild hog damage. I'm in East Texas. Couldn't even mow it with the zero turn it would buck you out of the seat. I got about 2 and a half acres of open field. It leveled out nice then drug it with a piece of cattle panel.

My dad could take an implement and use it for things they weren't really meant for and it worked out fine. Like your creativity.

I think we may all have to get back to that with today inflation!!!

There are many uses for a tiller. There's usually more than one implement that'll get a certain job done. As great as it would be to own 1 of every kind of implement, sometimes we have to work with what we've got. For instance, a disc, power rake, soil pulverizer, harrow, or land plane could have done that job as well.

I have both a disc and 6’tiller, I’ll take the tiller every time. You needed all day to lay down those big dozer tracks. Looks good for the amount of time you were there. Looks like a beast now!!

It does look good!! I had about 7 hours in it, I did about 5 acres total. Everyone was well pleased with the results!!

Hi, Dustin. I don't know if you remember me, Billy Thomason from Flintville school but, u and my sister were in the same grade, and friends then. Amanda Thomason, was her name. God rest her soul. Anyhow, it's been a long time,... It's good to see your well. If u still chill at Ed's Wings, you'd be walking distance from my house. Hit me up if you ever wanna chat. Take care.

I noticed that it did a good job of leveling . Did you use the draft control ? Nice work!

I couldn't have done what you did with my tiller as its reverse tine. I'd of been out every couple of minutes unwrapping roots from it PLUS i have shear-pins to boot. I think i am going to mount mine on and work some leaves into the garden, though...unless i hook up the old plow and turn them under for winter. What gear were you tilling in? Good video👍🏻

Your 20 foot trip around the farm works out to be about 2.42 Acres

Well the trip around the fence paid better but, we also ran a cultipacker around the fence row. We wanted it smooth around the fence line so we could keep the fence bush hogged.... This total project was 5 acres. It didn't take near as long as the fence did.
