regarding your first major issue, you're compering wrong things. a more accurate comparison would be two teams competing in a football match, and the second team after seeing what the first team was doing started implementing their strategy to win the competition, and I'm pretty sure that's allowed. the second issue is a non-starter, it's not even an issue because world first race is not a tournament for money. it's just an event where you can win a belt and some clout. it doesn't need an elaborate ruleset like esports tournaments have because it isn't one.
Theyre better than before, because of the power grind removal it means a lot more teams can compete. However the focus on squeezing every percent of damage out of every single player has done the opposite. If a team has 5 out of 6 players with midmaxed builds that team is COMPLETELY outclassed by a team with all 6... and beyond that streamers who play every single day for hours on end have better access to weapons and armour, meaning they can adapt to every minut change in strategy compared to the rest of the playerbase. Its not a competition for the whole playerbase, just a competition for streamers and pros. Also after crota if they bring back another reprisal they need to do away with the double run for emblem. My team completed the day 1 run but we gave up on doing challenge clear as we had 11 hours left. With reprised raid coming back with completely different mechanics there is simply no need for the double run for the emblem.
"It's not a competition for the whole playerbase, just a competition for streamers and pros". This is flat out not true. Bungie has said 100 times worlds first races are for everyone. The problem is the teams that always place podium are streamers because they literally play destiny for 20 hours a day 7 days a week. Any team with the playtime that these streamers teams have would easily keep up and probably push these streamers out of the top 3. It's not a matter of skill. It's a matter of them having the time to have fully optimized gear and team synergy with the best possible high stat armor, the best adept weapons, etc. Just like how redeem only got worlds first for last wish by abusing the prime engram glitch to be over leveled. And Bungie said anyone who beat the raid after abusing this glitch would be disqualified. Yet they let redeem win it anyway even though they abused the glitch and broke the rules to be eligible for the title. It's bullshit
@@2ELI7E "It's not a matter of skill. Well you must be a bad player my friend if you think that HIGH STAT ARMOR matters and if you can't complete master raids or GMS to get ADEPT WEAPONS then there is no way of getting top 500 day one let alone top 50 and you also don't need to use any ADEPT WEAPONS. The only OPTIMIZED GEAR you need to armor mods which everyone has access too and there are clear explanations for what the mods do, and btw not every team if given the hours, saltagreppo and others put into the game, can be as good as them, there is a level of talent to it's just like how not everyone if they get 10k hours in a FPS game can go pro. At the end of the day there are always gonna be people like you getting upset over the skill discrepancy between you and the best. If you can't obtain the needed weapons then you are either too late cus they're out of rotation or just flat out bad at the game. No. They aren't fair and they never will be truly competitive. And to correct you. They don't place well because they are "highly skilled". They place the way they do because every member of their team plays the game for a living. Any team with the amount of playtime they have could easily do the same. You're talking about multiple teams who all play destiny nearly 20 hours a day and they always place in those 1st, 2nd and 3rd place spots. It's dumb. Also man just say it. You want worlds first races to be an event where only streamers are allowed to compete. If that ever happens worlds first will cease to actually mean anything. Because on of the streamer teams invited will be the only ones who even have a shot. No. Fuck that.
Agreed. I think this video misses the mark in a lot of ways, there’s a fantasy of being like LoL or Dota tournaments that just isn’t appropriate for a **reprised** raid release, and there are no statistics really to back up that making this a fair competition will increase engagement despite the millions of dollars it would cost and the small timeframe there would be to do all of this in for future (unconfirmed) raids. Fair enough having the business/sporting definitions in there but there are no regulatory bodies involved here. I just think this whole argument falls on itself, while I appreciate the sentiment displayed. There’s a lot more to say but you’re right, they will never truly be competitive.

destiny in itself will never be a competitive game, as much as so many people want it to be. Call of duty is more competitive than destiny. why. their focus now is on the esport side. heres bungies. Money Milker so they can make marathon. anyone who still plays destiny, buys expansions (annual edition or not) and then also stuff from the ever verse is the very whale funding bungie to make marathon. the game they actually wanted to make
