  • Humpback Whales Chasing Dolphins and Breaching [4k60] (DJI Mavic Air 2)
Faszination surrounds every glimpse I get from these majestic creatures. Seeing and listening to these gentle giants was always a dream which was well worth documenting! Happy about the witnessed and incredible moments of whales interacting with a pod of dolphins.
    Shot on Mavic Air 2
Thanks for watching & let me know what you think!

Absolutely stunning, I am hooked on all you awesome people that film the ocean creatures whales (and their cousins dolphins) along with rays, are the reason I am still sane. Thank you for uploading

I know this type of footage helps biologists so very much. I grew up all over as an army brat, the one base we lived on was by the Atlantic st Laurence river, I was fortunate enough to swim with orcas (was 4 decades ago, before we knew better and information was all over the internet to teach us better, our web was the encyclopedias). I am now in a landlocked province and although I am a lost water baby (could live in the water if I could), I am fighting the Canadian government for dumping raw sewage in the st Laurence river and (on the opposite coast) British Columbia. I am also actively trying to clean up the pollution we have in our water, air, soil, sound and light, I am also keeping an eye on Russia that has someone these animals caged and experimented upon (not the way descent scientist do now without harming the animals), I am keeping an eye on Asian and European nations that want to bring back whaling and the guise of Asian scientist saying the need to kill the whales to perform scientific studies (when they are actually selling the meat).
There is so much each of us can’t do.
I recently learned so much about whales, like how belugas are one of the other rarest species that have self awareness, which means they feel what we do (I know many other animals species that feel some empathy, humpbacks will be one of the few to consistently save other species other than their own, not just the rare one like mogli/tarzan), timber wolves would care and bring back food to those elderly or injured).
Again thank you kindly, you are very welcomed, I shall also be looking forward to more of your uploads.
Now I will go to sleep, as I am babbling

@@prairierider7569 yeah you are so right! There is tons to learn about them. I was lucky to engage with orcas (from a boat) which was amazing. I still have footage from that. Furthermore, it’s great what you’re doing for the environment. A few years back I visited east canada and was so stunned about the diversity of the st Laurence river. Unfortunately we didn’t see much, we tried to see Belugas... we ended up seeing a Minkie whale playing in shallow waters close to the rock we were sitting on:) just an amazing world we live in. Thx for your insights!!

How long it took you to record the entire video? Great footage! where it took place this recording?

I gathered the clips over several months when I was in Australia (Sydney) for my studies. Dunno, but I guess more than 15-20 h of flying 😅

I am wondering if the dolphins are sometimes catching a "bow wave" off the whales like they do off large ships?

havent seen it myself! good question

I think they are, my brother said they do it all the time on ship's bows and the ships are going very fast. I would imagine a whale like that would create quite a bow wave.

I've read somewhere that they do, but I think they more likely doit just for fun. Dolphins are cool like that:-)). Loved the vid. thanks
