- Trains Slamming The Diamonds Where 2 CSX Lines Cross, Girl Hurries Over Railroad Crossing With Wheeling & Lake Erie Train Finally Coming! 6 Track Railroad Crossing, Train With Double DPU Locomotives In The Middle And Fast Trains Booking Around The Curves! 6 Trains In Greenwich, Ohio at the big railroad junction. Including a night train.
I rode up here about 28 miles from Lake Erie with Scott, @1960gambit. This video shows 3 trains crossing the diamonds and another 3 trains that took the curving connecting tracks. There are somewhere around 40 to 60 trains every 24 hours that pass through Greenwich. The railroad crossing here is very interesting. It has 3 tracks that cross the road and then another 3 tracks that cross the road almost immediately. This is our second time here. We were here about 4 months earlier when it was very hot. On this day the weather was almost perfect with temperatures near 70 and plenty of sunshine. We got so many trains that I will have two more videos after this one. I will have one video showing a train coming off one CSX line and onto another CSX line. It then crosses over from Track 2 onto Track 1 and I got a perfect view of it. Don't miss that one son! It was posted on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
Filmed Thursday, November 16, 2023 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

FYI. These tracks are former, NYC (Big four) right of way. The north/south line (single track) runs from Cleveland (Lindale) to Columbus and Cincinnati. The east/west line is the main west to Indianapolis and east to , I think, Youngstown.
JT, you really need to take the short trip north to Berea, Ohio. That is where the line splits for the run to Chicago. There's lots more in that area too. Just west down the Chicago line is Olmstead Falls. There is an old NYC station there that now contains a model railroad club.
I grew up just a bit east of Lindale, close to where I-480 and I-77 cross, and 3 blocks north of the "Belt Line" connection line with Collinwood yard (NYC). I spent a lot of my misspent youth getting into trouble for playing on the track there. ;-)
What a great place to film and watch trains.
On the night train, I noticed that there wasn't any reflective tape on the sides of the cars, or at least none showed up. Could be the angle was bad too or they were covered with dirt.
Thank you JT.
Good morning. Great seeing you
Thanks for watching!
Wow. I may have miss counted the first one at 118 cars. But this 3rd one with 3 locomotives and 189 units was will worth the wait.
Wheeling and Lake Erie also runs through Carey, Ohio on the former Akron, Canton and Youngstown line. Carey is located between Findlay and Upper Sandusky. CSX also has a line in Carey. (fomer C&O).
Thanks j t
Dark okay with the moon coming out; check the Almanac!
I enjoy watching your videos. I live in Massachusetts & watch some rail-stalkers up here too. You have a different level of rail traffic where you are (as you know). I'm guessing not everyone would understand my online railfanning but I don't care what they think. Keep doing what you're doing! Best wishes
🌖nice with the moon, lets cal it the moon exspres.🌖
Good morning jaw tooth
Do you ever play the “pick four” lottery of the front locomotive engine number ?
Hey JawTooth
You ever come across
A railroad crossing
That still uses
The old wigwag signals?
Or banjo
That swing back and forth
Beautiful twilight sequence with the moon in the picture. Great artistic touch JT!👍
Awesome W&LE catch..couple of good looking locos! And appreciate another twilight/night runner! Great video JT!
🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸
Great night shot. I love the way the lights show up so much better. Imagine what a lighted drone shot would look like in the dark. 😮
Thanks !
That's a great spot out in the Ohio country, always love catching a Wheeling & Lake Erie train when I'm in that area. Thx!
What a lovely Sat morning surprise from Dr Tooth! Beautiful sunny day in Huron. I'll bet💰we don't see you in January! I have a question about the rolling art. How can they paint a bus on a train going 35? Those guys have talent! Marvel movies have great effect on our youth. Shot of the moon over the approaching train was art! 🌝 Oh, the girl ran lickety split to avoid being stuck on the 'wrong side of the tracks' with the 2 of you! Women have a flight instinct men only experience in war.
Great job as usual,
Them wheeling in lake Erie locomotives are the same color scheme as the old Denver Rio grande I
Hi JT. Cool place here love the 6 track crossing, I like seeing Wheeling and Lake Eric. I would see them in Bellevue, Ohio. The night shot looked good the flashing lights on the gates look cool in the night. I could see the train okay.
Great night shot! Very nice! Thanks, JT!
Love the video today JT! Always love seeing the pets farm animals. Thanks for sharing! 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Wheeling Lake Erie has a yard in Brewster Ohio State route 93 runs underneath the yard. And there is one in Akron Ohio interstate 76 runs beside it , in case anybody didnt know. There may be another in the Wheeling West Virginia area. And west of you jawtooth might be another. Goggle it. On the IM's there are tanks in cages in the well cars they are usually midtrain. What's the reasoning for this. Pretty cool though let us know
Those have to be at least 5 wells from the locomotives, other than that it depends on their destination.
Wheeling's yard in the east is at Mingo Jct north of Wheeling. Their River Subdivision runs on the west side of the river and crosses the Unstoppable bridge to connect to the CSX Ohio River Subdivision in a balloon loop. That's all they do in Wheeling.
Some Railroad diamonds with three trains crossing on them always very
exciting to see, very nice weather and scenery in that area there are a lot of
tracks on this diamond and I really
enjoyed it also great to see Chessie and Norfie making an appearance Thank You Jaw Tooth.🤠👍🐶🐱🇺🇲
🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
Walmart uses trains?? I didn’t know that because I thought they always truck their freight.
The first train was 118 cars, the second train was 42 cars, the third train was 189 cars and two Dpu, and the 4th train was 165 cars, and the 5th train was 110 , and the 6th train was 103 cars and I could barely see it, keep up the good work 👍 Jaw Tooth
W&LE has a small yard right outside of Pittsburgh.. I see them moving every now and then from I-376
I really enjoyed this video, you're doing a great job as always, keep it up!
You should have seen what I saw yesterday.? A train tank car with wheels side says beeing dragged till it hit the switch slammed the wheels back on to the tracks close call. Wow.?
Awesome video JawTooth
As always
Have a great weekend
they should make that diamond a four way stop......hehe
The dark shot of the train was really neat.
Great spot for rail fans. Really liked seeing the Wheeling and Lake Erie.
Night train was awesome JT!! Wow, were you close to that! Always like seeing the trains come out of the darkness. The others you shot were awesome. Lots of axles!! Really like seeing the Wheeling Lake Erie Locomotive!! Fantastic video, really enjoyed it!! Thanks for all you do JT! Until next time!!
One problem with living by the tracks is the heavy vibrations. Be careful of what you wish for. I had to stay in a hotel right next to NS in north Atlanta. Didn’t get much sleep.
Once was riding a very experienced horse traveling along Hwy 101 when a slow moving train below us was heading north. Turk did not mind the noise or movement of the train but once he felt the ground vibrations it was off to stay ahead of the train! He was actually able to do so as the tracks dated to 1910 & had speed restrictions. Turk probably reached 30 mph & thankfully there was a 15% hill roadway that I could guide him up where he finally after 1/2 mile ran out of energy. Of course running that hard he blew & blew & caused so much loud sounds all the people came out of their houses to see what was going on. I then had to ride him back to our barn 4 miles away crossing the tracks thankfully which had a overpass for the hwy.
What a busy place.Great video.
Great place great video thanks Brian
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo et très bon week-end ! 👍🙏
Was that first train an "East - West" to or from Buffalo? Looked like a couple of Salt Mine cars the end up on NS to Sayre & Then Ithaca RR to Lansing :)
Great K5LA In The W&LE!
That young lady is not a keeper.......She ran away from viewing a train!
Maybe she knew of a better train somewhere else!
The sound of those old mechanical bells
Sounds Awesome
No DPU today but saw centerbeam car working hard with lumbers.
I really like the Lake Erie power. The orange stripes on the front makes it extra visible. I think more rail carriers should do that also. 😊😊
They stole the livery from the Denver and Rio Grande Western
Check out the old Rio Grande Railroad videos .
@@martyhardman3892 I saw D&RGW units in person growing up in the 1980's
@@brentboswell1294 From what I heard, the person who works in the top management is a former D&RGW top manager. That is why their livery is like D&RGW.
Wow!! That W&LE gave you plenty of horn. Great video.
Nice video!
Hey JT I wanted to wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving . Thanks for another great video.
Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!
Yes, they still have 3 SD40T-2 units on their roster@@FabianDiazTrainsTrucksNCars
In 2007 I saw WLE deliver coke to what was then Severstal. It was the old Rouge Steel. Coke is expensive to make on account of pollution. I believe the route was from WVA to Dearborn. Is this train still operating?
It's always fun to see a W&LE freight and they gave the JT welcome just like Cincinnati with the first half being the NS\IORY Gondola special. The 1st train on CSX had a 25 car cut of 50 ft boxcars in the back end had older covered hoppers in salt service helping to get the roads ready for winter. With all the variations of destinations that Crossing could use a coach's Playbook with maybe an audio call out saying where it's going. I'm surprised you didn't make the comment about the teenage jogger because she truly was a runner. For a lower light level I was still able to see what the consist was of the Night Train. Future home of JT Acres
Hey JT, I fogot to ask in my prior comment.... did the folks in that house see the video and offer you to come stay in a room one night????? :)
Great catches and awesome video
JT that was an awesome location ... Cheers , thanks for all the great videos !
You can always tell which track it'll be on by the gates. Look for the crossing where both gates go down. The crossing that has only one gate lower is just to stop the traffic in advance, but allow opposing traffic through if need be. It is confusing, but you'll get it, look for the one where both gates lower.
Reat video. I think the only place that can compete with Greenwich is Santa Fe Junction
I sure do gets me home sick
7:23
Idk what was her purpose of running but people like her always try to beat the train
Another good one! I thought he last views, taken at dusk, were pretty good.
Love your train vids watch every day if not working on the railroad..
Awesome night shot with the moon in the background At the end Jawtooth!👍
Fantastic jaw nice hot spot . Lots of Action. Nice Day too 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Awesome spot, lots of trains.
The moon provided a perfect backdrop for that night train.
Still haven't got an ev Chevy bolt yet my bro save 800 a month on fuel.
Hey Jawtooth, It was great to meet you today at Bristol Tenn / virginia station. Glad you got to witness a little bit of action on the rails here. Keep making great RR videos. You're a super nice guy, and thanx for spending a few hours with me and the local railfans here. High greens to you!
thx JT ! i really enjoy this location.
Yes! That has to be the most complicated set of tracks we have ever seen!
Sometimes there is a flatbed that is longer than 53 feet.
Some of the coolest art are on the sides of Auto Track cars.
Another excellent video my friend! Have a nice day!
That bus painting was pretty cool alright. It's fun seeing some of the picture graffiti. And those Lake Erie engines are nice. Thanks for a great video.
Wow cool and awesome 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
Great video! how many trains come through here a day?
Not sure but I would guess 30 or more
good catch for trains and Double DPUS I see you
Wow! Great catch, Brian, thank you.
That is a cool crossing. You have a knack for finding the good spots.
Nice Video!
🚂🌷🇮🇳🌷🚂
Awesome CSX intermodal JT! THE double DPU made it twice as nice. 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
One of my sons who just turned 57 yesterday wears the same colorful shirts 👕 🍃 🍍 🥥 🥭 🌴 👏 👏 👏 so we have 2 great things in common TRAINS & SHIRTS!! Both great to see. Thanks for sharing both 😀 😊
Oh wow! that is awesome
Love your videos need to get some here in Tennessee lol
That bus graffiti was pretty neat, but what's neater is that it was traveling forward and not racing in reverse, lol!
Hey, Jaw Tooth another great video man and I was watching a video about a week ago from 1960 gambit and it was a place just like that and y’all were told at 40 to 60 trains every 24 hours comes through there and he said y’all was there between five and six hours and caught 18 or 20 trains just in that amount of time and he said they were coming every 5 to 10 minutes. Y’all was getting a train but I was just wondering if that was the same place
Oh, and those two SD 40-2’s really look good on the Wheeling and Lake Erie train
On my 2018 trip to the south we tried to railfan the Wheeling & Lake Erie but unfortunately they never showed up in Wheeling the day we were there on our way south. The most I got was photos of MOW crews replacing rail on the bridge in Unstoppable.
Good morning to show all 6 crossings .thanks.
The Rio Grande lives! Sort of. Great action and love the night shot with the moon over the stacks. Liked it much, thanks JT!
Another great video. I liked the night train. Just enough light in the background sky to see the cars and the moon above the train really made the shot.
It was hard to make out plus it’s too early on a Saturday but was that Indiana & Lake Erie? That was a nice paint scheme
Wheeling and Lake Erie.
I like train videos on TH-cam jawtooth dpu alright 👍
Do containers attach to the rail cars the same way they lock together JT? 😊 Thanks 👍.
In well cars, they're just held in by gravity, right? (Though they're twistlocked when stacked.)
Have a good weekend JT
Love the night shot. More please!
I love the video!!! The engines, graffiti, runner 🏃♀️, diamonds , especially engine paint jobs and night videos
Happy Thanksgiving Jaw tooth and family!!! Will you have a Thanksgiving video that day? It will be just me for turkey day.......A new Jaw Tooth video would be great to watch as I'm eating turkey etc...Your the Best!!!!
A couple of notable "Fallen Flags" worth mentioning...New Orleans Public Belt boxcar @4:36, followed by one of those "signature" double-arrow-banded (ex-) Bay Line boxcars @5:31. That Wheeling & Lake Erie segment was a "doozy", with the pair of ex-D&RGW diagonal-striped Second-Generation EMD's leading the way, "loud 'n proud". Location is a solid runner-up to Hamilton in "my book"!!! 👍👍
Lived in wheeling wv 20 yrs,but ohio boy said come home, back in Zanesville ohio,Y bridge city..not as many trains,as a boy in the 70s and 80s seen 6-8 a day, grew up half mile from tracks ,3 miles from the switching yard.
Thank you for this first installment video of your trip to Greenwich, Ohio on 16 November 2023, Jaw Tooth! I enjoyed watching this video. There was a lot of railroading action in this video. It was nice to see a Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway train in this video. That was a long intermodal train that had double mid-train DPUs. I am looking forward to the next videos of this trip to Greenwich, Ohio.
I saw this one before I Believe but I always enjoy watching your videos more than once. Love it and if I haven't told you, we love the music you play with your videos too. ❤😊Loki likes the pond I see. Sweet fur babies. Thanks again Mr JT.❤😊
Something's wrong with your subscribe dynamic. No matter when or how many times I subscribe, the next time I open one of your videos I am not subscribed. Now Jawtooth, I like your videos, but I ain't gonna subscribe every time I try to watch one. You need to fix that right away. No telling how many subscribers you have docked yourself over time ; many I'm sure. Fix it so you don't keep kicking your own subscribers to the curb.
Another great video JT. Some different cars I haven’t seen before. Thanks. ❤
Hi JT, Back in Greenwich again after the eclipse. I love this place so much happening even if no trains i could spend ages looking at the diamonnds, the crossing & the curve its fab. Great catches that day, but it wont eclipse the eclipse! ❤😊👍
Hi JT, a beautiful day for catching the trains. Perfect. Cant beat trains going over diamonds, they have a sound all of their own.❤😊
Great place to railfan, been there many times! Great Vid! It gives you really great open space for wide angle shots and videos, plus you get a good mix of class1 and regional RR's.
