- Well my poor manual bilge pump was pooped...literally...it had a y-valve on it that pumped out the "holding tank", or the bilge...so...from the yucky y-valve to the thruhull, human waste went through it!! Major Yuck!!! So...my goal was to put it out of its misery and install new hose, a little strainer on the bottom (was just a hose right into the bilge, which could clog) I also had to just cut away the hose clamps, another reason to do the above mercy junking of the poop, I mean, poor, pump...!!
(Yep, I was looking for the little cut-off black hose-size piece & it was sitting right on the pump!)
We are doing the very same thing on our boat thank you so much. You are the only person that actually showed how to do this great channel.👍🇬🇧
I am glad I could help! and interesting how one think like that can confuse us humans, lol, but if you get the one "in/out" reversed, you are not going to be in a good place!
Nice to see the quality parts going into your Flickr
Thank you so much for the compliment! I am wanting her to be oh so perfect, for me and her!! ;-) Basically talk my way through it all to be sure I do it right so it looks great as I can do it!
Good job! I would consider the electric auto pump high on my list. I’m hopeful that the Harbor Patrol or a fellow sailer would see the stream of water pouring out the back before my battery went dead.
Hey good point, I too always look quizzically at a boat with water pumping out and no one around...do power boats do that?! Yes, I am researching automatic ones next...so I am 50/50 as well as wanting to finish up a few of my little projects now, hah hah!!
