    Hiroyuki Sanada has a special look! he is unusual! It really suits him to play samurai! I don't know! but there is something unusual in his gaze! You can feel the charisma! believe him! when he appears on the screen! This is a strong look! I've never seen anything like this before! from other actors!

    Personally i am glad that we finally have him on a role that he's worthy of. Most things ive seen him in western media was from Wolverine or Marvel or other "cheap" movies where he wasnt given any material to shine. This show however, i dare say would be as big as Game of Thrones was if it was only more than 1 season.

      @@doublep1980 yeah i loved bullet train too, but that movie didnt really make enough waves. And JW4 was the weakest of the series imo. I wanted to see a show like this since i first saw him in Last Samurai. Finally we get something he can shine in completely and results are just what you see. I knew he was the Toshiro Mifune of his generation. All he lacked was a director like Akira Kurasawa to make incredible movies. I truly hope this is just a beginning but even if its not im glad we got a masterpiece.

    its weird that the Producer has to run around in hectic. u'd think the other shoots would wait for his advisory green light especially if hes as crucial as they make it seem out to be. Sure, him running around in a hurry makes scheduling for everybody else easier and costs less in the long run, but having your lead actor and producer under constant stress cant be good either....

      There are actual Japanese pros that are running period authenticity consultations from clothes to mannerisms and even how they speak in the show, and its likely they were kinda k with the topknot like this. This should be in the time period shortly after Hideyoshi croaked so we dunno if there was a new variation unless one rolls to Japan and info raids with experts

    • @DisingenuousComment
      @DisingenuousComment 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gings4ever I'm Japanese. Yes it is obvious how they worked hard to try to build that authenticity of Japanese culture. It's a big improvement from any other Hollywood produced vision of Japanese culture which is embarrassingly comical. But I can see how Hiro and the crew would rather spend time and effort on the obvious, rather than hundreds of chonmages on each warrior. Anyone who isn't Japanese wouldn't recognize it, but the chonmage is one of the most important prides of a bushi, and it's a shame how they just ignored it.
      "This should be in the time period shortly after Hideyoshi croaked so we dunno if there was a new variation" No. There aren't any other variations. The only time it all changed was when the Meiji era came and the samurai class was abolished.
