Hiroyuki Sanada is a legend.
i wish this show deserve multiple awards next year with massive recognition
He's the shogun both on screen & on set. Such dedication.
He's the picture when I draw, discuss, imagine, describe a Samurai...
Hiroyuki Sanada has a special look! he is unusual! It really suits him to play samurai! I don't know! but there is something unusual in his gaze! You can feel the charisma! believe him! when he appears on the screen! This is a strong look! I've never seen anything like this before! from other actors!
right now this is the best drama out there
you can see this is his life project, he is putting all his effort into this show
I wish sonny chiba is still alive to see how his protege has come so far. Hell would you imagine him and hiro sharing the same screen together on this series!!!
What a great actor and a beautiful human being!
Can't wait for the rest of the show.
Absolutely magnificent. Mr. Sanada is perfection in all he does. Just amazing!!!!
You are right! His old nickname among
colleagues was "Mr. Perect."
Justin Marks is so right ! So far, he always was a side character in hollywood movies. The man is talented, it was about time for him to be in the front.
Thank you so much✨✨
Sanada es un genio 👏👏👏💯
Thank you so much✨from for japan💕
I love the level of authenticity in the show. I’m curious what Sanada would have changed in his previous works such as Last Samurai.
A lot. Japan hated that movie.
@@jkid4855 the last samurai is one of the highest grossing movies in Japan of all time so I don’t know where you would get the ideas that they hated it from
@@jkid4855 exact opposite dude. They fucking loved it, just read about box-office numbers. Think Japan alone had like half its international gross.
@@strawboyhawkins3 from the shit-loads of comments about this movie on Social Media. They watch it because it was Tom Cruise. They didn't love it and think it's shitty fantasy Japan from Hollywood. The movie was inauthentic and didn't respect Japanese culture at all.
Personally i am glad that we finally have him on a role that he's worthy of. Most things ive seen him in western media was from Wolverine or Marvel or other "cheap" movies where he wasnt given any material to shine. This show however, i dare say would be as big as Game of Thrones was if it was only more than 1 season.
He was amazing in Bullet Train and John Wick 4 though.
@@doublep1980 yeah i loved bullet train too, but that movie didnt really make enough waves. And JW4 was the weakest of the series imo. I wanted to see a show like this since i first saw him in Last Samurai. Finally we get something he can shine in completely and results are just what you see. I knew he was the Toshiro Mifune of his generation. All he lacked was a director like Akira Kurasawa to make incredible movies. I truly hope this is just a beginning but even if its not im glad we got a masterpiece.
And yet he remains so genuine, gracious and humble❤
This show better get awards if not I would be disappointed. The acting, COSTUME! my god this is great!
Toshiro Mifune started his own production company too. Congratulations on realising your vision Sanada! 😣☕💋
Three YEARS I’ve been waiting for this masterpiece he made it worth every second here’s hoping they will release this for purchase rather than the usual pay wall crap🙏🏻🤔🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
I adore Sanada-San. I found him in Last Samarai, and have watched so many of his works from his career, with my favorite, his Twilight Samarai. So beautiful. ❤❤❤
Ima such a big fun of Japanese culture and I was waiting so bad for this show , still watching these two episodes 🥰🥰🥰
any work with Hiroyuki Sanada in it , i just watch no matter what
Amazing and feltheart series must watch!! Deserving an international award especially torinaga superb actor!!
its a great show
Im excited for the next season already!
Sanada: Producer of Shogun
Toranaga: Orchestrator of War
No wonder the role fits him perfectly and execute it with ease.
I hope they go up to season 6 or 8 like game of throne and vikings and last kingdom.
Hiroyuki Sanada and Keanu Reeves was introduced to my friend during the production of the movie "47 Ronin". My friend did not heard of Sanada before then except that he was the Japanese guy who wore very thick glasses.
This will be a another favorite!!!
Hiroyuki Sanada is the actor & producer with real Samurai spirit🎉
Glad he's getting more recognition from this
He is a legend ❤❤❤ but i also love tadanobu asano
Just me waiting for episode 3 to drop 😅
They all did a great job ;)
he was amazing on Westworld
I have never seen Mr Sanada as anything other than a Samurai. Feels weird to see him in modern clothes.
He is not acting... he become tokugawa ieyasu himself ... 🍻🍺😃🤘
trust a japanese to tell their story to be authentic
Hiroyuki Sanada was also great in The Last Samurai with Tom Cruise.
🌹🌹🌹🌹💘
If you like this serie and the environments, clothes etc, I would highly recommend you to see "Memoirs of a Geisha"
👍
its weird that the Producer has to run around in hectic. u'd think the other shoots would wait for his advisory green light especially if hes as crucial as they make it seem out to be. Sure, him running around in a hurry makes scheduling for everybody else easier and costs less in the long run, but having your lead actor and producer under constant stress cant be good either....
This industry runs on time. 6 minute increments. Everyone is in a hurry. When I do something, I don't take my time. It's done efficiently and safe.
A reboot of the old 1980s series with starred Richard Chamberlain hmmmmmmm
He’s hot 🥵
why are they all wearing masks? doing surgery or something?
No one has a proper chonmage. cmon man, those were one of the most important factors of a bushi. GET IT RIGHT PLEASE
There are actual Japanese pros that are running period authenticity consultations from clothes to mannerisms and even how they speak in the show, and its likely they were kinda k with the topknot like this. This should be in the time period shortly after Hideyoshi croaked so we dunno if there was a new variation unless one rolls to Japan and info raids with experts
@@gings4ever I'm Japanese. Yes it is obvious how they worked hard to try to build that authenticity of Japanese culture. It's a big improvement from any other Hollywood produced vision of Japanese culture which is embarrassingly comical. But I can see how Hiro and the crew would rather spend time and effort on the obvious, rather than hundreds of chonmages on each warrior. Anyone who isn't Japanese wouldn't recognize it, but the chonmage is one of the most important prides of a bushi, and it's a shame how they just ignored it.
"This should be in the time period shortly after Hideyoshi croaked so we dunno if there was a new variation" No. There aren't any other variations. The only time it all changed was when the Meiji era came and the samurai class was abolished.
attention to detail is good but once you cross that line it bacame a micro management and everyone start to hate you
