Ugh, I HATE to see Oliver Townend win! He put down amazing rides, but he is a KNOWN horse abuser, and the fact that he’s gotten in trouble with the FEI before for abusive practices toward his horses on multiple occasions, and they STILL let him compete, makes me ill!!! I’ve watched videos of him beating his horses, and- WORSE- crashing an exhausted horse through several huge cross country fences until the ground jury had to FORCE him to pull up!!! When your horse is SO tired that it physically can no longer clear the obstacles, a good horseman/woman pulls his/her horse up. A good horse person CARES about the well-being of the horse, not just getting another win. Having to be forced by the ground jury to stop is just disgusting. He would have forced that poor horse to keep going until it had a crash which would break a leg or have some other horrid injury requiring immediate euthanasia!! Or killing Oliver. But unlike Oliver, the horse did NOT have a choice in the matter! In addition to the cruelty I’ve witnessed with my own eyes, I’ve read articles in multiple equine publications laying out all of the abusive acts which Oliver got in “trouble” for with the FEI, aka he got a slap on the wrist (for those who don’t know, the FEI is the governing body for International equine sports, and is SUPPOSED to have animal welfare as their top priority!). Congratulations to Ballyghmore Class, but I HATE that Townend was just rewarded for a career of abusing his horses! If he does those things in front of International audiences, how do you imagine he treats his horses behind closed doors? Ugh. I’m disgusted. 🤬
less talking heads more footage of competition pls
Where can we watch xc / day 3?
