    Thank you for this. I needed to do this but from a button. Watched your video, then read about doing it from a button in the comments and it's worked. Took me far too long to figure out how to do it and then I found this vid. Thanks.

    How do I create an anchor that takes me from a bullet list on one page to a paragraph title on a separate page

    • @markeviota
      @markeviota  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can create like the sample I have below:
      Item 1
      Item 2
      Go to Target Paragraph
      Then on the separate page, you insert the id just like showing below. You can insert it inside the h2, p, div, etc.
      Target Paragraph Title
      This is the paragraph you want to link to.

    Thanks a lot for your instruction on anchor setting, but I have questions, how does the button make the link to the anchor on the same page?

    • @markeviota
      @markeviota  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Chi Sean, you will need to create an ID for your target first then put # sign before the link url to create the link. I assume you are also using Avada, but if not, it should be similar how I did it here in the video. So first, you will need to come up with a unique ID name for your target. The browser will take you to a section of the page that has the ID you are targeting. Just like in the video at 0:35 I created the ID name (about-me), then I created the URL that looks like this /#about-me(example at 1:35). I replaced the url /about-me to /#about-me. The trick is the # sign. That will program/instruct the browser that this is an anchor link. So to make the link to the anchor on the same page you will need to put the URL with the # sign in your button so that when you click the button it will take you to the anchor link on the same Page. I hope this make sense. Keep playing around with it and it will start to become very clear.

    • @markeviota
      @markeviota  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Qamil, yes you can anchor from buttons to other container. Put the # sign to your button. Just like in this video. I added the # sign in my menu links. You can do the same with the buttons.

    Thanks for sharing this. On my webpage, I have the problem, that avada seems incredible slow. I have Fusion sliders on the four main pages, and especially on the page with the anchor links, it takes about 6 secons to jump down to the sections. No big pics, and also, the fusion sliders are only one image with one word over it. The other pages take arbout 2-3 secs to load, which is also very slow. Do you have any idea how to speed things up?

      Hi Chris is your Avada up to date to latest version? Also have you tried reinstalling Avada? Also does your server comes with CDN? Try activating CDN also if that helps because I know Avada is a little heavy, but If you have shared server it could be that also. Shared server causes issues specially if other website that are part of your shared server is having too many traffic. If you have dedicated server there is a bigger chance the problem is in Avada.

      Thanks for your fast response. I will check these points and see, if there will be an improvement.

      You are welcome Chris. Avada also comes with bundled premium plugins like the fusion builder and fusion core sometimes Avada release a patch for them. Check if new patch available. Good Luck!

      Hi Mark,
      yes Avada is up to date, also all of the plugins. I tinkered a bit with the php settings on my providers site, and could improve it down to 2 secs. Still have to check the CDN option, and, if it's a dedicated server or a shared one.

      @markeviota  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chris. Did you update your PHP settings to version PHP 7.2 in your server? 7.2 is recommended right now. Also what Database version MySQL are you using? If 5.5 above it should be fine. About your Server. If you have a Hosting Package that you pay monthly around $1-$30 a month you probably have a shared Server. If you are paying $70 or more a month for hosting you probably have a Dedicated Hosting Server. Also when did you start noticing your website started slowing down? Did it start after installing Avada? Probably one or more plugin not compatible with your Avada theme.

    that trick is cool, but, still in avada, if I want to click on a button in the middle of my page to make it scroll down to the target. How should I do it?

    • @markeviota
      @markeviota  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi alexandre. You will need to edit your container and create a unique ID. Just like in this video at 0:18. I edited my page, then I edited my container (About ME) and created the ID in the Name of Menu Anchor field. I entered a unique ID there that says about-me. The same in Work-Samples Container in the video at 0:48 I created a unique ID in the Name of Menu Anchor field that says work-samples. Once you are able to create your IDs, you will need to take note of those IDs because you will use those IDs for your URLs or links. A sample at 1:34 how I created the urls using the unique ID I created. I typed in /#about-me as my URL. Remember the ID I created before that says about-me. It should be exact the same you type in your URL but you have to add a # before it. Take a careful look at the video at 1:34 you will see the url I used it is /#about-me. You can also use the complete version for example markeviota.com/#about-me but the good practice is always using the shortcut version which is /#about-me. In your situation you are using a button you will need to edit your button and enter the anchor link there.
