Resident evil 3 was horror and action melded perfectly
Truly felt like a desperate situation seeing the city in such a mess
Sadly the RE3 REimagined 2020 game is the exact definition of cut content. The entire game is cut content, and worse!
@@KT-rq9id And Jill is an uglier, meaner character.
@@Vulpas It cracks me up when ppl ask me "Where is the wokeness in Capcom? I dont see anything woke in Capcom. Jill isnt woke in RE3 REimagined 2020, she's just got an updated script to match the modern times!" 🤣
@@KT-rq9id Exactly lol
It's really amazing how much the Devs did with the original RE3...and how sad that they didn't put that same attention, creativity and content into the Remake of 3.
really is a pity that the team that made the RE1 remake didn't make the Remakes for 2 & 3
@@apoc35 it really is a pity because that team and vision really got it right. It was due to the Remake of RE1 being a Gamecube exclusive. Despite high praise it didn't sell enough and the Gamecube didn't prove profitable enough to Capcom to warrant in their eyes, continuing the Remakes then. We definitely live in the darkest timeline.
Remake Dino Crisis
greedy capcom focused more on the online multiplayer aspect. shortened the main campaign for monetization purposes
I will say the hospital and the UBCS characters in the remake was my favorite. The UBCS is my favorite group and I’m heavily disappointed there was no mercanaries mode.
Funny how Mikami didn't imagine how many W they would achieve by making this RE the 3rd entry. Such a good game that Jill and Carlos are my fav protagonists of the franchise to this day
Yea 1 and 2 were bangers. But I remember in 99 getting 3 and immediately it felt my favorite...not just for the franchise but in games in general.... The nostalgia I have for that release and playing with my buddy. Talking about what we do if this happened to our town. That game was the best. The city felt real and lived in. I like how the streets in the beginning were looking one way. And when returning to those streets later in the game there are bodies of victims laying there now. It was little details like that that pushed its potential
I really love how RE3 progressed. The timeskip for me is what really sold it. It felt stakes were on the line with how much time was lost with even a badass like Jill even being out for the count.
It really bugs me how they just sort of threw Carlos to the side after RE3, I would have loved an RE game where Carlos would be the main protagonist with a main supporting character.
Mikami had no expectations because the RE3 that we know began as a spin off dubbed RE 1.9
The real RE3 at the time was based on a ship with Kamaya at the helm. But due to PS2 release cycle swiftly approaching, the game was cancelled.
RE1.9 then became a mainline entry and transformed into RE3.
Once it was bumped up in status, FMVs was added to flesh out the story and additional areas was added to beef up the campaign.
Nobody involved liked the change. Aoyama and Mikami didn't like it because it was specifically meant to be a side game and Kamiya didn't like it because he was supposed to be doing the next main game.
It's such a shame that the Nemesis in the remake lacked the stalking mechanic. It was so scary because of the uncertainty. Even now, the original is miles better.
3 is my 2nd favourite after RE1 remake. As a kid I always imagined how Raccoon city looked if you could go out of bounds, but as an adult I now know that's not how the pre rendered backgrounds in the original games worked lol
Speaking of REmake 1, imagine if we had REmake 3 in the same classic RE style. Can you imagine Nemesis chasing you thru Raccoon City with pre-rendered backgrounds and fixed camera angles? In REmake 2002, we got to see Zombies/Crimson Heads chase you thru doors, without the camera angle changing, due to technological advancements. Can you imagine Nemesis chasing you thru doors without the need of camera angle changes in the classic RE style? Fuck, man.
Resident evil 3 is what i call champagne Resident evil. The story of the first and second installments - both masterpieces in their own right - got such a deserving final act that was delightfully satisfying.
A perfect blend of exploration, lore, storytelling, music and action. My favourite.
Unpopular opinion, resident evil 3 is my all time favorite from the series and Jill valentine is my favorite character from the series.
+1
why is that an unpopular opinion ? are ppl still talking shit about the original RE3 to justify the shitty awfulness of the so called RE3 rEmAkE ?
Resident Evil 3 was always my favorite. Absolutely loved the destroyed city setting.
@@solid_fire9388 It's always been in a grey area, competing with OG 2 and OG4. That said, it's mainly people doing as you said in modern times to prop up RE3R.
it's one of the most popular games of the time and series-whole, with the joint most popular character. this is not an unpopular opinion lol
I think it's funny that they boarded up those doors in the police station because in Resident Evil 2 you need the blue card in order to even open them. So one easy thing they could have done was add flavor text like you need a special key for this or have Jill say to herself, "There's no time to get sidetracked!"
It should also be made clear at this point, Code Veronica was never Resident Evil 3 For the "Supposed Exclusivity Contract" with Sony, that never existed, it is simply that Yoshiki Okamoto wanted a safe investment, and Playstation gave it to him, for Mikami in his heart it was the code Veronica on the 3rd, but for Yoshiki Okamoto, Flagship President and COO(Capcom's chief operating officer obviously wanted the money.
P.S.: Great series, now watching the Code Veronica beta.🎉
P.S 2: Resident Evil 3 it's my favorite game in the Franchise.
Indeed and while I do basically state that in this video, I do plan to do just that in my Code Veronica video in the future as I feel that myth needs to be stamped out for good.
@@TheObsessiveGamer I'll be waiting for Code Veronica with great excitement 🎉
@@TheObsessiveGamer you've got a lot of your own myths to stamp brother

That's one of Kendo's vans; it's possible a zombie Kendo was going to pop out, or we'd be able to open it and get ammo or a better weapon.
Oh good catch. If a zombie Kendo came out of it, it sure would have been different now with how they made a Kendo Survivor scenario in the RE2 Remake.
@@TheObsessiveGamer I don't think zombie Kendo is too likely given that you come across this really early in the game, before Re2 happens (you run past that specific van while pursuing Brad at the beginning). Another weapon would've been interesting though, especially with the game's randomized loot drops.
RE3 is my personal favourite from the trilogy
So Resident Evil 3 Remake cut so much good shit out from the game but they gave us Jill's deleted Nightmare scene with self gunning. Oh, thanks Capcom. Talking about insult to injury.
seriously, why the RE3 remake feels really short?
I still question what they did it the way the did when RE2 Remake was as well made as it was and had only minor cuts. Wish they at least listened and added the rest of the game in as DLC in some forms.
@@kamiloalvarez5800Seriously, why original is short?
@@kamiloalvarez5800 Several reasons.
Firstly is the game is intended to be a brisk paced escape mission. Jill has no reason to be slacking around the town wandering. Her main goal is to make it out the city.
Secondary is the budget, RE3 remake lacked the scope and budget.
@@mrpussinboots4252 the budget thing might be the main reason
Subscribed. Thanks for not doing a generic video. This really goes a little more in depth with japanese only audio drama, etc.
Never been so early, love all thes cut content videos. Thank you for your hard work 💜
Thank you very watching this :) and more planned to come of course
my absolute favorite RE among the classics, i love RE2 but i played og 3 more than 2… it’s a masterpiece imo, so much replay ability, you don’t feel like you playing a linear game… great video btw 😊 subbed
I love that the only criticism about Dreamcast's version is that it looked too good. Lol, "the models didn't match the environments"? The port was gorgeous through and through, so much so I could never go back to the PSone original ever again after the DC upgrade.
I see, that is why probably the reason why they didn’t take it seriously making the re3 remake!! im so disappointed whoever made the re3 remake..
Edit: Resident Evil 3 was my first resident evil game. RE 3 nemesis made me fall inlove to the franchise and made me play other resident evil games. Sadly shinji mikami is not involved in the remakes anymore. 🙁
I'm pretty sure it was mainly just to make it how the creators of the remake wanted to do it. The did ask the Director of the original version of 3, Kazuhiro Aoyama, if he wanted to participate but he declined to work on it saying "the conditions weren't right".
Another awesome video! I hope one day we get to see more of the og RE0 on n64
With the amazing stuff people do now it is very possible. And with advancements in AI generation it could help fill in gaps for missing content by learning from other RE titles and the patterns in what exists. I mean look at what it already does with remasters and HD modding for existing stuff. The HD project of RE1 - 3 on PC uses mostly AI to upscale and fill in gaps to make all the pre-rendered stuff look super crisp, as well as the super nice models. This has all sprung up within the last few years too. In about 5 years from now I wouldn't be surprised if people were able to just find scraps of unfinished and abandoned games and have AI complete it. Especially older and simpler games with less detail. You know as opposed to AI just being used to steal people's art for untalented losers to post and claim it is theres (This happened to me so I am bitter)
1:23 No way the PS2 was already announced in 1998 😕
Amazing video! Thanks for your hard work!
Thank you very much! :)
Nemesis lost to... Tofu? How sad! 😱
Probably completely baffled and fried his chip.
They didn't like 3, its pretty obvious Capcom wanted to rush to 4... "Their beloved poster child". 3's remake was totally gutted and as that is my favourite in the series, I will never forgive Capcom for that. I refused to buy the 4 remake because to me, that's when Resident Evil STOPPED being Resident Evil.
4 isn't even what should've come after 3. It should've been Code Veronica.
Same i didnt bought re8 and 4 remake because they fucked 3 remake so bad up that i refuse to buy any upcoming Resident evil games .
"NOOO! CODE VERONICA WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE TRUE RE3!!!!". -Every Code Veronica apologist
And it was. Story wise, 3 almost adds nothing, if you check CV you can see that it follows the events occurred alongside 1 and 2.
RE3 is my favorite game of all time.
I'm obsessed with it, got 2 copies. One with manual and case and one without.
The storyline is just amazing and the exploration at that time was phenominal
This video was so well done and concise with the making and development. Thank you ❤
Awesome video man!
Ironic....how both iterations came torwards the tail end of PS 1 and 4 Generation Cycles....both were somewhat rushed....yet one was praised and the other hated....
The remake was hated solely because it cut a ton of content and changed Jill's personality drastically.
@@CommanderRedEXE I'm aware...played both.
Weren’t modders able to get the chains to function properly? I recall seeing videos uploaded about that. I know I remember seeing the Fire hose nozzle used in an RE mod.
I know some modders have done a restoration mod of sorts. Not sure if they did the restoration of the chain or not. I haven't looked into it.
@@TheObsessiveGamer A quick search led me to this video of RE3, MartinBiohazard is one of the modders who was big in trying to restore RE 1.5 back then.
th-cam.com/video/-dSTDsGVYeA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yNlARUSvAzbIhh5U
@@TheObsessiveGamer Hopefully the advent of AI in development can help us fill in these gaps. Look at what it already does for remasters, especially fan stuff like the Resident Evil HD Project. I am sure that within the next 5 years or so, it would be able to read patterns and similar design enough that it could generate missing content like for RE1.5 and then fans could tweak and amend it accordingly. That would be awesome. Imagine being able to play a finish 0 using the original 64 version or a completed 1.5? Or even the spooky ghost filled version of RE4 that never saw the light of day.
@@PaulGirdlestone I want to see a demake of Resident Evil 1 Remake with PS1 graphics. PS1 Lisa Trevor!
Re 3 was goated with how the items/locations could change between playthroughs. Also the puzzle answers changing was awesome too. Reminds of me how Silent Hills puzzles could change between difficulties
To this day RE3 is a 10/10 in my book.
The 3make a 4/10 an absolute let down
RE 3 is amazing, and I think R3make was aswell despite the cut content.
"Already 4 years passed, move on"
Move on my *ss, i never, never forgive how Capcom trashed that potential game, thats why i stopped to purchase RE games from RE3R, no more reason to support the franchise...and i dont care "the next game will be better" because there no Raccoon City and no Jill as playable, they will be a cloned RE4 like RE7.
Same they gutted re3 remake that much that i refuse to buy re8 re4 remake
Man, Im still curious about an early RE4. Something with some Silent Hill type elements to it.
I hope one day we can get that build to play and see how it even felt
Well, Kamiya wasn't "heading" the "ship" project that was Resident Evil 3, the original idea for 3. He only was the director once it became Stylish (the one that went on to become Devil May Cry).
For 1.9 and 2.1, it was originally just 1.9 and would have ended at the church (which became the Clock Tower). It became 1.9 and 2.1 later.
From my understanding, prior to Jill being put into 1.9, the protagonists were just the three mercenaries of the game was all. And to my understanding Jill was dropped from Code Veronica before she was put into 1.9 (I believe she was dropped in April of 1998 from CV and put into 1.9 around June). Claire was put in as the protagonist in Code Veronica due to Kamiya adding lines into the ending of 2 about Claire still going to look for her brother.
I'm kinda surprised you didn't really talk much about the original concept of Nemesis though with it being the amoeba creature that would follow you through door-cracks and windows and stuff.
can't wait to play this on my emulator
the debut of the mercenaries game mode. props to extreme battle
This games biggest contribution to the franchise imo and probably the only part of RE6 I actually liked lol
*stares at Onimusha series
I like 3 mostly because Jill is the main character but it's a sort of sketchy one in the series, don't get me wrong it's cool though
They added a lot of replay value that many gamers NEVER noticed because you had to play it again to realise that items and enemies could be in different locations, including big things like weapons and the Nemesis himself. Unless you played it 2 or 3 times you would have never known, and I think that is what happened for many. It was kind of like randomiser modes that games have started getting from fans now but not as insane, you know, because I don't think the first room being filled with Nemesis clones with the player only holding a can of oil would do much for reviews back then.
@@PaulGirdlestone that would have been hilarious 😂
RE2 is the most iconic, it has the best scenarios and the 4 way path with Mr X as a new enemy.
The red Thing up there was very suspicious, also the Fireplace later.
Did ask myself, if i missed something

I think having the 1, 2 and 3 we got as the original 3 numbered entries makes more sense nowadays anyways. All take place in Racoon City (Arklay is right on the outskirts so close enough) and all take place on the PS1 (not including ports). It would just feel weird looking back and seeing 1 and 2 on PS1 and 3 being on PS2 taking place in a Spanish village in Europe or on a random ship at sea.
Well it'd have been Mallet Island if it weren't a ship. I could see it going either way though. Arklay is on the border of Raccoon City but it's not actually in Raccoon City itself. For me 3 always felt more like a side game than 1, 2, or Code Veronica.
Capcom: concerned about low sales for releasing at the end of the PS1/Start of PS2
Also Capcom: Let's make RE4/RE0/RE1R Gamecube exclusives (0/R for over a decade)
Well that was Shinji's decision, not Capcom as a whole.
Please cover the cut Hunk game of him on a boat
As much as i'd love to, there really isn't more than this known. I've said as much as there is to be said about it in this video and my RE3.5
@@TheObsessiveGamer I first heard about it from your RE3.5 video and tried to do my own research on it, couldn't find anything 😂
@@StrawHatLucas ah yeah makes sense. Tbh if there was more I'd have said it in that video as it was realistically the VERY first take on RE4 when one thinks about it

You're one of the very few on TH-cam who did actual research and show how Code Veronica was _never_ considered to be the original RE3 or that there was an "alleged" Sony contract that Capcom signed so that they could have all of the first three RE games on PlayStation.
More people definitely need to be informed about this. I'm sick and tired of hearing the same false claims that were completely misunderstood due to various translation errors from interviews that were made back then.
Well it was more just a claim that IGN made and kept repeating over the years, not a translation error.
Funny thing is, egm debunked it before code Veronica came out and did an interview about how the re2 saturn port fell through and eventually the team ended up making a new spinoff (code Veronica)@edward18517
I feel like the Demon Coins had something to do with the goddess statues in the clocktower. Demons/goddesses and the colours match up
When DLC and expansion wasn't a thing Resident evil 3 exist to extend RE2
I don't understand why would they give RE 3 a lower budget than the other games? they were earning much more money since RE 1 and RE 2 was a sucess, had much bigger budget and voice actors than RE 1, I guess they were just giving Code Veronica and Dino Crisis bigger budgets than RE 3, who knows.
For the final version of 3 it was due to it initially being 1.9. What was being worked on a 3 (Stylish (which became Devil May Cry) and then Castle) was where the main attention was going other than 0 and Code Veronica.
@@edward18517 Castle would be Resident Evil 3.5?
@@Mr_x_19922 Castle was the second idea for 4 (or third idea for the project overall since the project started as 3 and became 4 during Stylish (which became Devil May Cry)). Castle is the idea that you always since the early trailers for 4 where Leon's going through Spencer's Castle and getting infected by The Fog and Hallucinating and stuff. Bits of Castle were reused for the final version of 4 after they dropped Castle.
The ship version of 3 was canceled in early or mid 1999 with Stylish (Hideki Kamiya's idea (the guy that directed 2) being what they started doing after that. When 1.9 had the number 3 slapped onto it Stylish became 4 (probably around May or June of 1999) with Stylish lasting until about November of 2000 when it was renamed Devil May Cry. The game would've dealt with Tony Redgrave on Mallet Island infiltrating Spencer's Castle, which was near the ruins that Progenitor came from, with Spencer having continued to experiment with G.
The Castle version of 4 began production as the idea for 4 after Stylish became Devil May Cry, though proper work didn't start on Castle until Spring of 2002 with Hiroshi Shibata heading it. Castle would've had Leon infiltrating Spencer's Castle, which was atop catacombs that Progenitor had come from, alongside USSTRACOM Forces when H.C.F. attacks the Castle with a new bio-weapon they'd developed, The Fog. Leon would be the only survivor of the attack with him being left infected and hallucinating throughout the game as he continues the venture into the castle while another part of the story had a girl within the castle trying to make her way out with a mutant dog companion.
Eventually, due to feeling they couldn't properly do the visual stuff they wanted to with Castle and feeling it wasn't good enough, Castle was dropped and Mikami took over slapping together the story of the final version of 4 in a few weeks.
@@edward18517 And the girl with the mutant dog became Haunting Ground
The original RE3 is an excellent game and I love replaying it. I get why people complain about the cut content in the remake but it’s still a good game. I have a much bigger with how Jill is almost unrecognizable in the remake. She was a compassionate caring person but still strong and made good decisions on the fly but she’s just insufferable at times in the remake and it’s really sad bc she’s the second best main character for me (Leon’s obviously the goat). I still think the remake is fun for the rushed product we got and Nemesis is still a big pain in the ass like in the original lmao
I swear, Resident Evil must have more scraped games and tossed-out scripts than any other mainstream videogame series. Seems like everybody kept pulling U-turns constantly behind the scenes. It's insane how Resident Evil 2 was completely scrapped when it was 80% done and started over from scratch. I know the version we got is by far superior to 1.5, and one of the most iconic games in history, but completely tossing a game so far into development seems liek a massive waste of time, resources, and most importantly, money.
I don't even get the decision to scrap the OG RE3 and make Last Escape RE3 instead. If they thought RE3 wouldn't sell so close to the end of the PS1's lifespan, why in the hell would you scrap the mainline game you had in development and concentrate on the spinoff... and THEN release it as RE3 anyway!? And it was a dumb decision anyway because RE3 DID sell well, not as much as RE2, but well enough that it's iconic despite its flaws. Then there was the fiasco with RE4's development and multiple scrapped versions of that game, at least two full scripts, one of which became Haunting Ground, somebody got the bright idea to have the game load two versions of every room at the same time and didn't consider the gamecube couldn't handle it...
Honestly, I'm amazed the series put out as many games as we have. I still wish we'd got the castle version of RE4 and that Outbreak File #3 wasn't cancelled, but overall the series has some of my favourite games of all time so I can't really complain.
Well for 3 the original version didn't have THAT much work done on it before it was scrapped, and 1.9, which became 3, was already in development at that point. What they did was basically just slapped the number 3 on 1.9 and had them cram in more stuff in a few months for the final version of 3.
Well these are just the ones we know. Games get this all the time. I mean at least Resident Evil got to 3....... Your move Half-life!
I feel sorry for anyone on the dev team that would have needed to optimise any tank control fixed camera title for mouse and keyboards. Thank god controllers on PC are so normalised now. And all hail the HD Project and Biorand!
I bought Dino Crisis primarily because of the RE3 demo.
Resident Evil 2 And 3 need a proper Ps5 Pro Remaster change nothing. ❤ + Dino Crisis ❤️🔥
Playstation 2 in 1998, still a great console to this day
I’m slightly amused how RE0 was planned to be on the N64. At least it got on a Nintendo console, that being the GameCube. But I own the Resident Evil Origin Collection on Switch, which has RE0 and the GameCube Remake of RE1 (the definitive version).
I kinda wish that that version had been completed to see how it would've been. It was about 50% done when they restarted it and Billy would have been a more "evil" feeling character in that version.
@@edward18517 Honestly, I like that Billy isn’t an evil character in RE0. Sure he’s a criminal, but he really isn’t a bad guy as he was basically used as a Scapegoat for the village massacre his squad did which Billy claims he had no part in. And it’s mean to be ambiguous if he really did, but considering that he never returns in future Resident Evil games, we may never know the answer to that.
@@krvgames9258 well for me it's more that I was just interested to see how it would've been in general. At the point that the 64 version of 0 was being worked on Progenitor was intended to have come from Mallet Island, not Africa, so the texture implying that that's where it'd come from wouldn't have been in the 64 version and there was no "Young Marcus" concept art done for the 64 version so that form of him wouldn't have been in the game either. Just a lot of interesting differences and "could have beens".
If you investigate further into the betas of Resident Evil 2 (Resident Evil 1.5) and 3 Nemesis you will realize that they are the same story, as it happens in the classics and remakes, both in terms of monsters from the sketches, more destroyed, dirtier, and larger than normal settings.
@@siberius14spectre94 well that would be a video for the remakes which I plan to do one day :)
I'd say there's quite a bit of differences between the remakes. 3's especially is not like the original.
I think the way Capcom managed Resident Evil during 1999 & 2000 was perfect. we got 2 awesome video games regarding 3 & Code Veronica. plus, having 2 separate video games on different consoles made both stay fresh longer unlike Resident Evil 2. in fact, 3 & CV still feel fresh to this day. it was the right thing to do at the right time. Capcom delivered 2 classics. that's what I love about Resident Evil. every title is different. Well, 1-5 and CV & Zero are all different. 6-8 and the crappy remakes don't have what the classic Resident Evil games have. Resident Evil has lost it's charm much like the video game industry overall. everything looks, plays and feels the same now. today's video games have no creativity or uniqueness whatsoever
I personally do not think that. 3 always felt like a side game to me and not as deserving of a number as the others. What I feel should have been 3, storywise, was Kamiya's idea, which became Devil May Cry (though gameplaywise I feel it should have been Castle (the version being done after his version)).
@@edward18517 but we wouldn't have got Devil May Cry as we know it
@LeonDOro-i6r if we got the story from that version for 4 I would sacrifice Devil May Cry myself 😄
Instant like for not spreading the IGN rumour of CV being RE3. The original RE3 was set In a Cruise Ship being directed by Kamiya and was scrapped. CV was NEVER meant to be RE3, it wasn't even made by Capcom to begin with, it was outsourced to a company called TOSE. It never stops being annoying to see CV fans on RE3 videos screaming "CV Is Real RE3", RE3 is the REAL RE3! RE3 was originally conceptualized as a spin-off but after the Cruise Ship RE3 got canned, the decision was made to expand the dev team of RE Nemesis and make Jill the protagonist.
Hideki Kamiya was not the Director of the original concept for 3 that people talk about Hunk from. The original "ship" idea for 3 was being directed by Masaaki Yamada. Hideki was the main "planner" on it. It's when that idea was dropped and the idea that eventually became Devil May Cry was started for 3 that Hideki became the director of the project.
@@edward18517 I assumed it was kamiya as he confirmed working on it on twitter. Its sad that 90% of the RE fanbase doesn't even know the Hunk RE3 was ever a thing, everyone just assumes CV is RE3.

In The Complete Conquest of Nemesis Guidebook it also says for the developer notes for Nicholai:

No official dates been given but apparently rumours are floating that it might be on Halloween

@@kamiloalvarez5800 Code Veronica was made as an apology for not being able to put Resident Evil 2 on the Sega Saturn. It was not going to be 3.
That rumor was started because IGN saw Code Veronica first and assumed it was 3. No game before 3 was shown had the title of 3. They just assumed that Code Veronica was 3 and kept repeating that it was.
@@edward18517 so code veronica was never the real RE3?

Re3 is a true sequel to Re1
No, 2 already did that. 3 is a true sequel to 2. just like 4 is to 3 and so forth. everything that happens in each game sets up the sequels perfectly. that is, until Capcom botched the Resident Evil series with 6. it's such a lame game. 7 & 8 are ok but they're not Resident Evil games though. oh and don't get me started on the crappy remakes. they're boring clones of 4 and I hate the self-entitled brats that were used for the likeness of each remade character. that's right. remade characters because there's nothing that remotely resembles the classic games from the 90s & 00s regarding the remakes. the crappy remakes are just a definition of today's low standard within the video game industry and the community regarding the lame game players
@LeonDOro-i6r
It actually very much is a sequel to 1. It starts a day before 2 does
@@mustangmckraken1150 Who asked you?... Haha, joke btw but yeah...
I guess it is technically but I was meaning gameplay
@@LeonDOro-i6r I agree, the only true remake is RE1 REmake. It's so sad, because I would've been so happy to see RE3 especially get the RE1 REmake treatment. Seeing Nemsis chase you thru fixed camera angles and tank controls, but with that 2002 remake style, would've been terrifying. Considering that Zombies/Crimson Heads in RE1 could go thru doors without changing the camera angle, Nemesis for sure would be able to just open doors anytime anywhere on your screen. That would have been terrifying.
@@KT-rq9id Hell yeah. like you said... REmake on GameCube is awesome. REmake on GameCube is the only good RE remake. it's unfortunate that 2 & 3 never got the same treatment. finally, someone who gets it
The game that stole Code Veronica spot.
Contrary to popular belief, Code Vernoica was never considered for getting a numbered entry. I do agree though that it should have and even Mikami down to the line felt that way, but at the time no one said it should.
I like them both, but ultimately 3 is a better game
CV was NEVER conceived, planned or intended as RE3.
@@DriftKingfromTekken3 For me 3 and CV feel like 4 and 5. The first is fun for the gameplay while the second is more important for the lore and characters.
Resident Evil: Code V is the real RE3
Well it's more of a main game, but it never had a number.
It was literally never 3, that was just a really bad rumor started by ign and carried by fans for years with zero evidence. However there's tons and tons of evidence it wasn't re3, like the fact it was made by the same sega team (yes, not capcom) that made the sega Saturn port of re1...which they were also making a sega Saturn port of re2...that was conveniently canceled as soon as code Veronica was being made.
Or how about the fact that multiple capcom staff said it wasn't, and talked about re3 originally starring hunk, that was canceled when the ps2 was announced....and guess who got the title of 3 after that *hint, it wasn't code Veronica
@@Viichan777 1.Capcom production studio 4 developed it not sega
2. It was going to be the next mainline entry but Capcom wanted the Numbered series to stay with PlayStation RE3 started off as a spinoff and was never ment to be 3 until Capcom panicked and made it 3
@Garym88 studio 4 did not develop it, nexxtech did, capcom only supervised on the project and made art for it, flagship handled the plot and nexxtech made the game.
Code Veronica was never at any point considered to be 3, if that ridiculous rumor was true, why was 3 also simultaneously on pc and dreamcast shortly afterwards? Why would capcom make a spinoff by a porting team on a console very few had a main entry? Why didn't code Veronica get a pc port? Why would tons of capcom staff, including Hideki Kamiya, lie?

If only the remake would have been as cool as the OG one. Sigh...
16:25 So, was it low budget or not?
1.9 was low budget. Once it had the number 3 slapped onto it a few months before release it was given a bigger budget and more people to try and cram more stuff into it to make it try to meet more of a main game standard (as 1.9 it didn't even have animated cutscenes, just still images with text).
@@edward18517 Is there any playable beta of 1.9? All I've seen so far are screenshots
@@Mr_x_19922 No, not as far as I'm aware. It was still 1.9 & 2.1 pretty close to release (it only got renamed as 3 and had the extra effort poured into it in the last few months before it came out). Some of the files in the game's data still refer to it as 1.9 even. Before it became 1.9 & 2.1 though (back when it was just 1.9) it would have ended at the church (which became the Clock Tower).
