    I love this story so much, for the underlying, or maybe overlying? theme that the father is taking his sick child through the woods, and the erlking that the boy sees may not be a malicious spirit but delirium from an illness.
    But at the same time, it could very much be a spirit and the more the boy pays attention to it the more power it has to tear him away.
    Either way by the end he's dead, but the story is enchanting.

    This video is amazing! The art, the sound, the piece! Thank you for sharing this amazing video here.
    I teared up by the ending 🥹 It was so sudden and full of sorrow, I was so scared and sad, even though I knew the ending, but I couldn’t stop my hopes 💔

      I mean when you know the story it really doesn't fit with the show's plot, so far no kiddies getting stolen and raped in The Gifted, but still cool piece

    • @coral_870
      @coral_870 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      AeneasGemini actually it does, technically, the music follows by how Lauren and a Andy have this dark powers from their family and it carries on , the parents of Andy and Lauren are warning them of their powers and if they keep on with their dark powers the parents are scared it could leave them to destroying themselves . Another theory is that when the dad explained about how the song is about an evil force that evil force can symbolize the powers that Andy and Lauren possess and that they are mutants and in the song the father ignores the child, what the child thought he felt or saw was make believe and the father didn’t believe him until he died . And if Lauren and Andy parents fail to ignore the “dark force” of their powers it can destroy them leading them to their death. Lauren realizes the song activates her powers stronger ,a connection between her great grandmother , that’s how she learned about her new ability to control her powers like a disc. Or another theory is that the great grandparents were murders and so they knew of the “dark path” of their powers , now from the letter of Anderas is convincing the family members to possess that powerful power that Andy and Lauren have , the great grandparents were dark powerful mutants , now the parents know that what Lauren and Andy possess is dark and they don’t want them to end up hurt or killed. That’s all of my theories that can connect to the song . It’s all symbolic .

      @@coral_870 Well listen, I'm sure you can stretch the symbolism to fit the show if you like. But the fact is that the original story is an obvious allegory for pedophilia, and that just doesn't work. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they included it (it led me to discover this piece!), but if you sand off the edges of a square peg to fit a round hole is it still the same square peg?
