- Gambling all my gold. Getting a few good things.
Good parts:
near 9 minutes
At 36 minutes I start gambling only rings. Takes about 5 minutes to get a ring.. and it's a good one! Patience is rewarded once again.

I guess I should have been more into gambling back when I was seventeen playing this patch version. GG.
oh yes.. even I didn't quite realize it.. even though I did do plenty of gambling. But I remember only getting like 1 SoJ from gamble.. though I got 18 from one trade so I didn't really need any more sojs after that.
@@akse I never got any soj until I did a holy grail in LOD. I got three of them to drop form random spots as I grinded for a whole summer to collect everything.. I played Diablo 2 since even before its release in the closed beta test, then it was released and I only got to play it for a few months before I started a full time job and lost my will to keep playing. I did the grail in the summer of 2020 due to having suddenly lost the will to leave the house for some damn reason to do with a virus, I can’t recall what that was all about .. anyhow it gave me the ability to apply myself several hours a day to Diablo 2 LOD and I call that a win. I’ve always known that the SOJ is easier to acquire in classic, but never bothered to try for it. I remember back when there was that enormous proliferation of soj due to duping and I went on and played with a guy I used to be in a clan with in the beginning and he had some items that were simply god tier. Rare rings with plus skills and rare swords that seemed impossible. I think that was 1.10.. but yeah you’re the only person I’ve seen play 1.06 in over twenty years. Well done. How did you obtain that patch?

Yeah in pre-LoD it's very easy to get SoJ since when you have nagel and manald the next unique ring drop or gamble is always a SoJ. But you have to mule it to find another one. So everything is truely unique.
A SoJ or Manald cannot actually drop at all if no Nagelring is in the game :) Same goes for amulets.
I've had this patch file for ages on my computer. Then installed 1.00 from old cd's and patched it + a few mods that fix a couple of things with the old version.
Nowadays you can find pretty much all the old D2 patches from webarchive by typing "diablo2 patches" to the search.
@akse very interesting. Can you play both Battle net and old patches at same PC? I'm a regular classic and LOD battle net USEAST player ...
Yeah I think I first installed the old version 1.00 then patched to 1.06. Then copied the folder somewhere when I figured it was working as I wanted.
Then I probably patched the original installation to the latest version and I am able to play the latest 1.14 and also launch old version from copied folder. I had to mess around in registry folder for the old installation to find out my save games or something.
But there is also a mod that gives you tools to changes versions on the fly more easily. Cactus mod. Then another useful mod is Singling. You can find these in Codeberg by fearedbliss developer.

Yeah it's just me playing solo with 5 characers (check my playlists and videos). There is not players x command so this way I can do it. At least it was the case some years back but now there might be some other mods that can do it with a command also.
