    I'd say this game was more influenced by the original Power Stone on the Dreamcast, than Smash Bros.

    • @n64glennplant
      @n64glennplant  9 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      ***** defo, i just think that they decided to get on the fighting bandwagon after smash. if you look at how many fighting games suddenly tried their luck after that theres quite a few on n64. power stone was cool though for its day, i don't think its aged all that well though

      Power Stone 2 is pretty cool to play still, But I thin it's a balance on making it simple for casual players or ultra hardcore that only fighting fans can enjoy (ALA Killer Instinct)

      i should get a beta project episode up for toon panic, it was a cancelled n64 arena style fighter but the rom thats knocking around has next to nothing in it. funnily enough they have some final fantasy placeholders in it!

    This was a game I played the hell out of when I was a kid. It was the PC version, and I have both fond and terrifying memories. When the characters got big and had those hypnotized eyes, that used to scare the shit out of me, and I would run away from the computer because of it. I remember having a lot of fun with this game, but I have this feeling that it won't be nearly as fun as it was if I play this game again at some point.

    I remember renting this game from Blockbuster and I actually enjoyed it. When I completed everything on the game in less than a day, it left me wanting more and the developers could've done much and I do mean MUCH more to increase the longevity as well as have the 4-player option with much more stages not to mention increase the character roster which I know from seeing Super Smash Bros. evolve, EVERYONE begs for more characters.

    Aw, man. Missed opportunity is right. I was expecting some frantic, four-player action from this game ala Power Stone, but instead I got a one on one arena fighter with weak, blurry graphics and forgettable music. Some of the stages and weapons are fun, but the overall look of the game is drab and empty. I've only played Fists of Furry on the N64 so I'm not sure if the texture work is better in the PC version. Regardless the N64 was capable of quite a bit more than what is on show here. The sequel War of the Whiskers that came out a few years later did address a lot of FoF's shortcomings, though.

    I didn't really know much about this game, I think I assumed it was a platformer when it came out. Game looks decent but when you said no 4-played I lost my interest.

    Don't let the Cartoon Slap stick, Tom and Jerry type Game play fool you, Tom and Jerry: Fists of Furry, is a Very hard fighter. And the Multi player mode, Is right up there with Mario Kart 64.

      bigbangbot yeah its nothing more than a rental, shouldn't take more than half an hour to complete and an afternoon to unlock everything

      I wouldn't say that you can unlock everything that quickly but it can still be done in a couple of hours.

      Gassy Goddess yeah its nuts how a show like this would never be made now. I read that amazon listed "racial stereotypes" on their page for the cartoons on dvd....insane

    • @jamiemaster101
      @jamiemaster101 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      name 1 racial sterotype in this show
      it's just animals beating the shit out of each other

    • @N64allday
      @N64allday 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gassy Goddess there were several instances on the show where the characters had "black face". Not surprising for a show made in the 40s, but crazy to see 70 years later

      Gassy Goddess
      Its not an excuse. Tom and Jerry on multiple occasions purposely did black face. They didnt try to hide it. They didnt need to hide it, cuz it was acceptable to do in the 40s
