I had the '82 model back in...well, 1982. It was a great way for a teenager to get around. A very reliable moped that I was sorry to let go when I no longer needed it.
Thanks for posting this video. Very interesting. I didn't realize how lucky I was for getting an '82 with the kick start and 2-speed transmission. $50 back in 1995 from a cycle salvage. Just pulled it out to get it running again.
My first bike, I had some fun on it... riding past friends standing on one foot on the saddle. I remember lifting it up on to a bench, and drilling a few holes in the exhaust, to make it sound raspier! Little did I know I probably lost ½ an mph top speed.... and every ½ an mph matters!
Hey fatrat440, nice video, I got a blue 80' and a yellow 79' The 80' has a oil leak seems to be coming from the crank case, I was wondering what oil you use in the crank? you obviously have some exp with these bikes so I'm sure you have torn one or two apart.
Will a 1979 exhaust fit on a 1982 with the frame change I'm not sure, buying online and want to make sure it will fit. Thank you for your time . I enjoyed your Video!!
@BeardScot Good deal, keep hold of that 79. Great bikes. Only real problem with the wind up start bikes is the wind up spring. Known to break. But there are used ones out there should you ever need one. All the things you describe sound correct for a 79. But did not know that UK model has no kill switch. Did you know Express' were offered in the UK in 1984? Only till 1983 here in the states.
I have a 1981 Express ll with the orginal model/year label. However mine seems to be a unique design as far as all the others ive seen. Its auto 2 speed, kick start but it has a lifting wider seat like the 82 and the gas tank is a dual gas/oil thats mounted at an angle under the seat. You have to lift the seat to fill it. Any info on this model?
I have a 1982 and am in need of a throttle/oil injection cables (from the engine to the twist throttle). Do you know where I can find one? Do you also know the compatibility between the models from year to year? Also, is there any difference in NC50 vs NA50 vs NU50??? Are the parts interchangeable? Please help! : )
@BeardScot Ha ha, that's cool that it wasn't broken. Love how you guys say spanner and not wrench. Yeah those springs can be dangerous, they hold a lot of tension and are no joke.
Hey you seem to know and post a lot about honda mopeds. Im looking to buy one of craigslist. The moped still runs, the problems are it needs a new muffler, key switch, (a seat and head light) which i'm not to worried about those last 2. I'm not good at advanced fixing and it don't need it to be perfect. how important are these items. Is it worth the buy.
Hey fatrat440, you know where I could find one of these? I had a 79' NC50, but it was stolen from my backyard the day after I got it working. I had spent 2 years getting the thing restored, and the day after I got it running, it was stolen. F.M.L. Anyway, I'm in Southwest Michigan, know of any good sources?
@kamp69 A picture would help identify it better but sounds like a normal 81 express II. the 81 express II's ( NA-50 ) were the first to have the two speed, NC-50's in 81 had a single speed kick start. As for the seat, I'm pretty sure the NA-50's all lifted up, like yours, and that is where you fill the gas and oil.
Hey Tatrat440 you dont have the 1981 honda express na50 i have :X gas tank is in almost upright position under the seat but i have a trunk for the battery and mine is 2 speed auto that doesn't have that bolt you said. Maybe ill show you mine in a video since i dont have a video made yet.
Why do they call these mopeds? I had a 1978, and it had no bicycle pedals. I was able to get a turn signal kit, and I used to drive it to work. And it definitely got 100 miles per gallon.
Try moped army for your cable. Yes there are differences between models, it just depends on what parts your looking to interchange. The NU-50 engine is almost totally different from the others except cylinder/head/and pistion. the Nc-50 and Na-50's use the exact same engine. but body parts are different.
Hi, I have a 78 Model and I want to buy a new piston kit, would you know anyone who sells these and would ship to New Zealand. any help much appreciated
hey fatrat, been watching your vids a lot the last few weeks. I just picked up an '80 nc50, got it cleaned up and such, got it to run but it tends to bog down on acceleration and stall out after a few minutes idling. any advice?
Hi, I have a 78 Model and I live in New Zealand, I was wondering if you would know of anyone who sells a piston kit (rings, pinsetc) and would ship to New Zealand, any help much appreciated.
Ive got a 79 it has turn signals jus like any honda bike of the time they are chrome withe amber lens very nice quality in my opionion over the ones they began using afterward jus wanted to let ya know as I dont c many 79s
hey i have a 1978 and i need a gas cap, you wouldn't have An extra one you could sell me or maybe know where i could get one there 39 bucks from honda i was hoping to find one little cheaper?
Only difference in the single speed and two speed are on the take off. Two speed has a better low gear so it takes off better. Top speed is the same as they are geared exactly the same. Really no differences between the single and two speed other than the obvious.

I’m 14 and buying one for $350! I’m hoping I don’t get pulled over

Just got a 78 yesterday! It doesn't run yet but I already love it!!

oops..... logged in with the kids channel
Cool. I've got a Lime Green 78 and I used to have two 82's but I parted them out a few years ago. I prefer the older ones.

Depends on the price. yes it's worth buying if it runs. Muffler, key switch and headlight are hard parts to find, but not impossible.

i have a 1980 blue like yours and its a kickstart
I'm buying a non working 1983 model and I wondering if there's anything I should out for after I get it running
i have a blue 79 express that i love to ride and show of to the public

They offered varieties of each engine each year, as well as having the actually good Express models, the NX50 and NU50.

They are! I love mine, just to bad the weather is crappy and I can't ride. Good luck with your 82

those are nice moped.i was just wondering if i buy one and try to register it as motorized bike? thank you

Don't quite understand what you mean. Were you talking about the urban that you favorite the vid on?
I have the 77 express. currently looking for a couple parts.
That is a neat moped!, I would love to own one! :-)

in 81 they switched to whats called an Auto choke. Manual coke was last used in 1980

It is 49cc. Not 50.
Leander Williams it's technically a scooter but for some reason moped is used more. I'm not sure why
Leander Williams a girl named monique collaberated with a pedestrian
I am planning at looking at one of these, are they 2 or 4 stroke?
@50moped Nice, are you in England? The moped your talking about is rare/non existent in the U.S.
Interesting, I have a registered 82 wind up single speed?
But single speed, means without cluthch?
@ugddmp Sorry I don't have any extras, they are kinda hard to come by.
How much are all of your mopeds starting from 78-83

check your fuel tap is clean inside
Hi, I'm looking at an '82 "Iowa" Express. What's the "Iowa" all about? Still a kick start, auto choke, etc.? Thoughts on this model? Thanks.
phishguy220 82 Iowa's are the same as the regular express except they are restricted to 25 mph due to the laws for mopeds in Iowa
Hi, I have a 78 Model and I live in New Zealand, I was wondering if you would know of anyone who sells a piston kit (rings, pinsetc) and would ship to New Zealand, any help much appreciated.

Hey I am looking for a 1982 Honda express just like the one in your video, could you help me find one, or if you have one are you willing to sell it?
Mattmasher 12 i have one
hey i have a 1978 and i need a gas cap, you wouldn't have An extra one you could sell me or maybe know where i could get one there 39 bucks from honda i was hoping to find one little cheaper?
on the '82 there was no choke?
Actually it's just a camera bag used to hold the registration, that's all.
@Sandjmotorsports The 1981, just better with the kick start but the 82 is more comfortable.
How much for the 2 speed
They are all two stroke bikes. And all are oil injected, meaning you don't have to pre mix.
Wonder if I can fit one. I'm 6'4 😳
@superstormj try moped army or craigs list, two best places I've found e-bay also.
cool, yeah their pretty much bullet proof
@BeardScot It's ok
How do I get one?
@IGotYourBack91 Thanks.

@sneek010 Check treet land tv .com look for Honda Hobbit parts and kits, they are interchangeable.
cuanto cuesta la primera en pesos Mexicanos

la honda express del año 1978
I have the moped it's a PA hobbit those are motorcycles I need no insurance in Canada for mine but these I need insurance
Those are not mopeds. No pedals.
Jack Harper they actually are. By law a moped actually doesn't have to have peddles if it's under 50cc. These are 49cc
