look at his facial expression, it shows someone in deep thought thinking of a true event during the war. this is a man who never waivered in his love for his country. The name chopper is not a nickname but his pseudo war name. he was there and saw it. for those who followed his songs closely, he has a song in each of his albums which reminds us of what the war was about. Nherera, ndarangira gamba, ndafunga kumusha, africa, pane asipo, etc, He was just a genius and a true son of the soil

Masterpiece. You Chimbetu are a legend, this song makes me to think of my grandmother who was killed by a gun in the evening during the time of war, making my mom to be an orphan at the age of 12, I feel sad even now. And yet some freedom fighters thing that they are the only one who were affected by the war and yet almost everyone was and yet they are the only ones experiencing the freedom at the expense of those who were underprivileged because of the war. I am talking about anyone and everyone affected anyhow
The guy was just more than talented, I'd spend the whole day listening to all his tunes , great voice projection & backing vocalist ."Kuguta kwamaita uku pane vamwe vasipo "
Pasi hapagute ndinorwadziwa ndikangozvifunga kuti izwi iri hachisina...i love dendera music from the early hit marxist brothers REST IN PEACE DENDERA LEGENDS your massage still live on...
Rest in peace Simon. Paya panotaurwa nezvema larger than life characters ndimi vanenge vachirehwa. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us. You make me proud to be a Zimbabwean. You were a legend
The look in your face Simon shoes pensiveness, and when you say handikanganwe kwete, I understand that you really have a clear fresh picture when the hero is leaving us. Sad song indeed. Sad reality
Musicians like Chopper Chimbetu don’t exist in Zim anymore, he was so talented that he’d write a song about the hated ZANU and political figures , yet one wouldn’t realise and still love him. Chimbetu left a vacuum in the music scene that would never be filled by anyone.
Having moved to Harare from Byo in the early 90s and fallen in love with Dendera music and got lucky enough to witness the late great Simon Choppa and Mofela and this group, I fell in love with them attending many gigs.
True definition of a complete musician, legendary, hero, patriotic , loyal and a composer par excellence who stood for what he believed in and never looked back.He sang songs from deep down his heart with a huge societal and social meaning.Thank you Chopper for being a great musician of our time.May your soul rest in eternal peace.
Guys me I’m Ndebele, I grew up listening to this song but I never really understood. Only today I understood this song. It’s a painful song and I’m in tears 😭. Rip Simon Chimbetu for me you’re number singer and entertainer
Its only that the economy is melting down in this country so the importance national events are turning to no value as everybody struggles to make ends meet
good music.i live tge dressing, so decent kwete zvataakuona mazuvano vaimbi vaakuimba vakashama. I love the dedication and seriousness. the put all the energy and focus ,you can see that they are singing from heart not just for money . especially the guy next to Simon chimbetu...he is so serious. wish we could get such music in these days
This is the best song Simon has sung till that point which says muchiti Zanu, Zanu. He captures all what courageuos sons and daughters of our country Zimbabwe went thru to get rid of a foreigm led regime I wish our country's history will teach the young generation what a foreigner can do to a country.... his interests are not to serve and save us black Africans (as many young people are coercied to believe).
Happy Independence Zimbabwe. 40 years of pain under Fascist governance. We still have a good story to tell, Zimbabweans all scattered all over the world have carried with them patriotism and have raised the flag high. Destruction of dignity, human rights violations, police brutality and unconstitutionalism Ccontinues back home led by ED and Company. We removed Mugabe and we thought "takurira mhandu", little did we know.....
Those who did not have a chance to see this man live im sorry for u serious his live show was very nice especially this song ndarangarira gamba which he normally sang first
Respect to the Heroes who sacrificed their lives for our Beloved Zimbabwe. Respect to Chopper Chimbetu for this tribute: May his dear soul rest in peace..!! One of the songs that will get you to start thinking quite deep.... Shinga Comrade..!!
