There's a great article on this song. The amount of work and coordination it took for this song to get produce/made was insane. It took a stupid amount of convincing Carlos to do it, and then the writing process took months. When Rob wrote the original chorus he said it was instead a "Pre-Chorus" (the "smooth" part), but another part had to be the chorus. So Rob went back and wrote the "It's just like the ocean" section. It was a miracle this song got made at all.

That is just a Taste of what you'll experience at a Santana concert. Carlos makes sure you'll be entertained with a mix of polished arrangements and freestyle jam sections. He is a conductor of his band and feeds off the audience which dictates the direction of the music. Something he's been doing for 50 years now.

@kafka films. Carlos us doing a residency in Vegas again this year. He's one of the goat, right up at the top of the cream 9f the crop. I saw this whole show, right in the front row, Chicago, 1990. Carlos and the entire band are very interactive w/their fans. If they see u diggin it, they look and smile right at u, with u. Carlos played right to me many times during this; my husband was so happy he teared up. I've been to sooo many concerts, but Santana is top 3. That was 21 yrs ago; I really hope I'm well enough to see him again. And I don't even like Vegas and would never go there...but for this, I'm gonna beg the ol man to go!

Santana has always been one of the musician/bands that make you dance, their infectious rhythms move you in ways no other music does, & Carlos guitar sings to the soul.

I've seen Carlos Santana three times live, the last time he was 70 years old and still playing like he was half his age. Incredible love the sounds he can make his guitar sing.

Mate you must do yourself a favour and watch the whole concert, it is fantastic, this small snippet is brilliant but Carlos and the Band just nail the whole thing down tight in this concert from the Supernatural album.
Ty for doing this it is a great song one you can just bop around the house doing chores to.
    Keep Safe Keep Strong
