For ISRO scientist/engineer sc job You have to either join IIST or qualify icrb exam Or in rare case join top IIT , isro may conduct direct interview for IIT final years ,(conducted few times ,not a regular thing).

@@prajjwal1111 Although I did my PhD from the US but as far as I know you can go into academics (Teaching, Research) as well as industry these days. Industry offers very good job options for PhDs now for example I had multiple industry job offers (Amazon, EY and WayFair) much before I finished my degree. A PhD from IIT should give you similar options.
