Hypertension can be reversed. I know some who went on a low carb diet and were able to get their BP to normal ranges. With close monitoring their BP improved. Insulin resistance and hypertension are the components of metabolic syndrome and often coexist. Lots of people who are not overweight and slim also have hypertension and are diabetic.
