The only good thing that came out of this was that she was able to ascend to goddess because of this. If he had done it with that intention it’d be forgivable, but he didn’t. This was completely unfair to her. I’m glad she got revenge later but she did not get any justice for Ye Hua’s family’s horrible treatment of her. He was a literal witness to Su Jin’s BS but didn’t say a word about it to the emperor. Shameful af

Why she's still there, or with him.. It doesn't matter how much he loves her, how much he punished himself for what he did to her, still I'm saying he don't deserve to be with her
Actually the lightning strikes were Susu's punishment, which would have killed her, so Ye Hua takes them for her instead. The whole point of this is that the Celestial King (and a jealous woman), set this up to get Susu killed as punishment. The King wants Susu dead, and Ye Hua has been doing everything he can to keep her alive. Removing her eyes was his less horrible option.
Ye Hua makes a number of mistakes, but he is in a really bad position, with very few choices, none of them good. He does love Susu desperately.
Susu has not been able to leave him up to this point, because she is pregnant and the gods want the baby. But after the baby is born, she does leave (she sort of kills herself... It's complicated) to get away from the gods and Ye Hua. Ye Hua spends the next 500 years loving his child, regretting everything, and trying to get Susu back from death.

Susu would not be allowed to just leave. The Celestial King would have killed her, rather than letting her leave.
The Celestial King is very weak, and needs a marriage alliance with another King. So he has engaged Ye Hua to the Fox King's daughter. In order to prevent that proposed marriage from falling apart, he wants to remove Susu from existence. To him she is just a mortal and of no importance.
Ye Hua is really trying to treat Susu well. He previously tried to fake his own death, just so he could spend Susu's mortal lifetime with her (and then probably spend the rest of eternity alone, as the other gods would believe him dead). Later, he is just trying to keep her alive, even if he has to send her away from himself.

I guess part of Ye Hua's problem is that he fell in love with her before he was born. He was still a primordial lotus spirit (before his current physical form was born), and Susu took care of him for like 70,000 years. At that time she was in disguise as a male (studying with the God of War), but she was in a god form.
Although Ye Hua can't fully recall what happened when he was still just a spirit, he does dream of it often. And he recognized Susu right away as the person from his dreams. He was in love with Susu before he ever met her.
He was meant to be with her. That's not something you can easily move past.
What amazed me with all of these stories, is how they look down on those in the mortal realm and considered themselves above them. Yet they're MORE vicious, ruthless and bloodthirsty than not only mortals, but even their demon counterparts. But they act so holy and good. I like people like SuSu, Arayana, and a few others who genuinely look out for each other. But most of them are just out for themselves, some less than others, but still narcissistic. Ye Hau is one of the better ones, just weak. Dong Hau is another one I'm still undecided about because of his casual cruelty to the little fox princess.
Dong hau is quite different. He's astute in his judgment but, cold and unwelcoming in nature. He has no sense of feeling or so that's what we've been told. He touched a stone that can make a person incapable of having feelings for anyone; all because he felt the pains and disappointments of love early on in life. It's truly sad though but, I for one can understand the complexity of that.
I still like Dong Hua. He's not as weak as Ye Hua. He doesn't seem to tolerate absolute cruelty. Even he appears shocked at how Su Su is treated. If they had allowed her to go to him to be cared for she wouldn't have been subject to all this torture and away from. Su Jin. If I had my way, i'd burn that heavenly realm down. It's nothing but a Den of Iniquity. Nothing but a pack if rabid back stabbing weasels. When you can torture a truly innocent pregnant woman like her then there's nothing worth saving, not even the hide. It seems that the immortals that tended to stay away from that palatial realm seem to have more humanity. Dong Hua didn't want to get entangled with the fox princess because she was so young and still had a lifetime to spend to catch up with him. Fortunately she didn't take no for an answer. She couldn't even stomach the cruelty of the palace and it's inhabitants. My best suggestion to Su Su/Bai Quan..stay angry, give birth, run away with your baby, and never look back. He Hua can kicks rocks. He didn't deserve her after all this crap. He can be emperor and keep that snake Su Jin. That'll be a lifetime of misery and A Li could have been raised lovingly and away from those rabid weasels.
@@santeriabanks2930 - You've given a very astute assessment of Dong Hua's character; one I completely agree with. I was hurt by a violent ex, but I never blamed all men for his actions. I think to take the stance is detrimental to the person more than those they are angry with. Not saying I wouldn't seek revenge, but I don't, personally, feel that not having any emotions is better. I think your excellent summation of Dong Hau really shows him as being weak, just in a different way, as Ye Hua. I'm beginning to think the 'lower' celestials were actually better people than high ones. Certainly they showed emotions and love more - except for Mo Yuan, he was lovely. Thank you for replying.😊👍
@Bn Iij I just happen to like his character. He did have some loving tendencies even though he seemed detached and a bit cold. He was very astute and logical in his assessments and dealings with the other immortals. He knew how they could be. That's why he tended to keep to himself a lot and why he was so attached to his spiritual fox. He could show emotions to it and love it as it wasn't apparently human. It showed him loyalty, love, patience, and care. He just didn't know it was his future wifey not taking no for an answer. With his young son he proved what a great, loving, and patient dad he was. His young wifey chose well. He was never cruel with her, he just didn't see a future with her. He even shared his mortal life with her so she could experience love with him as mortals. That clinched it for me. To me, they were the match made in Heaven.

If he hadn't have done that they'd have killed her he probably thought since she was a mortal and didnt know their ways he was protecting her. Instead he should have talked to her more, explained instead of leaving her alone like that. Made her think he didnt love her anymore. Glad we are still having sensible and logical comments like this. Pregnancy was a stressful and life threatening moment, added with faithfulness and eyes trauma. Normal woman could easily die because of those multiple injuries.

Story was made as a hope for common people injustical standard to keep their spirit of change to betterness. If the story was a crap people would leave it.
And besides, the actors were hooman, the viewers were in hooman race not in immortals realm, so normal human standard would still apply in the reviews.

The title makes you cringe. 😩Actually, he used his heavenly power and just removed them. To be honest, that was a painful scene for me, and I was so angry because of the antics of the jealous 2nd FL with her lies, but no sin goes unpunished in this drama whether you committed it or not. 😁
It's not the only time that horrible woman works her ways to trick him and damage the FL.

I've seen comparisons between Ye Hua and Youqin from The Starry Love. Both are considered the standards but for most people Youqin beats Ye Hua by miles. I realie YH was created at a time when protagonists tended to be dumb and een if they suspected something from the villain they never really looked into it as he does here. He'd rather hurt her to "protect" her than find real evidence if she was guilty or not. Now YQ would rather gauge his own eyes out first before hurting his wife. Youqin would go to the ends of the world to find the answers he needed and if he couldn't he would do what I said earlier.

Not sure if any one have mentioned this, but I find the heavenly lord be as as much of a villain as the female villain( forgot what she is called)
The Heavenly Lord and Sujin are always plotting together. Why can't Ye hua not see that.
I hate the Heavenly King with an amazing passion, he is just coldly evil. Su Jin is crazy evil, but the king doesn't have that excuse. He is cold and logical, and just doesn't care about anything beyond what he thinks is best. Keeping the small child Ye Hua away from his mother for years, killing Susu, Etc.
Not a mustache twirling villain (i.e. he doesn't want to hurt people, just to hurt people; he has a real reason for everything he does); but certainly not someone I want to end well.
@@ginaoliver4437 I think Ye Hua can totally see that. I think he absolutely knows the Heavenly King is plotting Susu's death. That's why he never trusts the Heavenly King. That's why he tried to fake his own death, and why he never ever explains how much he loves Susu. (Ye Hua never shows his true emotions to anyone but Susu and 3rd uncle.)
Ye Hua is very smart, he can see the two of them plotting, he just has trouble stopping them.
I love when Ye Hua finally exposes Su Jin and (most of) her plots at the court. He is silently sticking it to the Heavenly King too. He knows the king was a participant in some of those plots, and the King has to sit there and listen to everyone decry the incredible immorality of Su Jin's (and the king's) actions. It's a way of humiliating and shaming the king without actually publicly exposing him.

Автор новеллы и сценарист посчитали, что его гибели достаточно для прощения. Лично я не согласна. Характеры не меняются. Поэтому в будущем нельзя гарантировать, что он опять не предаст Цянь Цянь. Вот так как-то.
