Major props to Michael! Major props to Shannon!!! Glad that she held him accountable. Glad that he understood the error of his ways and used it as an opportunity for growth. As the mother of a child, she rightly should have attempted to have him clear the slate. His public apology to Meka was well deserved. Initially, I felt he felt uncomfortable because he was ashamed of his salary, a mistake, which he continued to compound. At some point, I felt he’d disconnected, but kept the charade going even on decision day. It was difficult to watch. It took him a minute to do the right thing, but the important thing is that he did.
I sincerely wish Michael, Shannon and their daughter the very best. I hope he responsibly confronts the challenges of marriage with an ever renewed commitment to love and honesty🙏🤞💯

He then lied to a judge about his awareness about the premise of the show and what it entailed (AFTER contracts, disclosures and negotiations were signed and sealed). Boy, bye!!

Anytime you can go on a nationwide television show with an international audience and lie in front of millions of people, I believe he will have no problems lying in private to a single parent who is probably challenged to find a desirable mate due to having a child and being obese. Evem on this post, he is being evasive.
Fortunately, Meka was astute and level-headed enough to see right through his habitual lying.

You do know that significant others can appreciate different body types and love their children as if they are you're own? My partner has sole custody of his kids and I can't/don't want kids. I love his kids despite loving him, and wouldn't be in his life at all if I treated his kids like garbage. They are humans that deserve respect.

But, the fact that he was openly willing to confront his demons is what calls me to show him grace🙏. Wish there wasn’t a child involved (hopefully the words he said to her ever echo in his heart) but Shannon has her eyes wide open and Michael wanted the relationship enough to commit to do the work. His and Shannon’s dynamic is different than that between he and Meka. Hopefully, they have a therapist on speed dial and/or a special line to the Man upstairs. Marriage isn’t easy, but commitment to the relationship and a willingness to be vulnerable are important tools to making it work. 💫💖

I like that his new wife isn't about the games and seems to be holding him accountable. To be honest, it still sounds like he's lying about some stuff. He says he was checked out pretty early on but on decision day you wanted to stay married and said he didn't believe in divorce. Why would you want to stay in a marriage if you were so "checked out"? But regardless, I'm just glad my girl Meka is free and thriving.

He didn't want to say yes on decision day. Meka was just able to speak up first and say no. I think he checked out early but wanted his married at first sight check so he couldn't leave. He probably is under contractual obligation not to explain that and other things fully. I kind of believe him and his new wife seems to be making him a better man.

Me and my wife just finished watching season 10. So much to unpack regarding Michael Watson. Overall, my takeaway is that he's wounded and needs therapy. I'm not the "marriage police" but he clearly does not need to be involved with anyone until his past traumas and issues have been resolved. For him to get married very quickly after MAFS, red flag red flags, especially for that single mother. Now all the bs that he's dealing with, now will be exhibited to the new union, which includes a child smh. Then again... that single mother is so desperate and selfish that for the sake her happiness, she puts her child in a vulnerable situation.
I hope for his new wife's sake that he truly has learned and grown from his mistakes.

It's so refreshing to see how people are truly capable of change. I despised this guy when I was watching the show. Every single thing about him was fake and I couldn't believe any relationship "expert" would pick someone like this to be a husband...especially for such an awesome strong woman like Meka. This video is the first time Michael was real and he seemed very transparent and authentic here. It shows that literally anyone is capable of change, which is a beautiful inspiring thing.
I will add though I do think he is still lying about the yoga thing. He is probably having trouble fessing up to that since he lied again about it at the reunion. Maybe he showed the kids some yoga at a school he taught at or something and stretched that into be credentialed, which is WAY different and which he def. is not

I'm glad he's growing and Mike is still young to pull it together. Hopefully, he realizes it's okay to be honest about who he is and move forward to his greatness. I am wary of Michael's new found honesty. The amount of lies he told and how he dug in when caught, is still disturbing to me. Parents should be worried about him influencing their children. He needs years of therapy and accountability before I could trust him. If he found someone to put up with him, God bless him. I pray for her and her daughter's safety. He is a psychopath. He lied to a therapist and a minister to their faces, people who are trained to help people. Why would he treat Meka so badly? Those were cold hearted moves. @@ykd818 While I am totally confused about your response to my post, I thought it was very clear on where I stood. I do not have PTSD. I responded to the show and the multiple lies this man told to everyone. As I stated in my post, he lied face to face to a pastor and counselor who were there to help the couples.
As a former educator, I have seen people like him in the schools. This is not good for a child's well-being. Also, his unresolved feelings about his mother and his family situation, being raised by the aunt, having no one in his family ever being married, and desiring to have an ideal family and to be seen in a certain manner, all contribute to the lies that he told. This words were from HIS mouth.
As for Michael admitting his wrong doing, he had no choice. He was not so brave and humble to do so. He already went on a public forum and showed his behind. That was his choice!! Even if he was not sorrowful, he had to save face whether he meant it or not.
My comments were totally focused on what I saw. I did say God bless him because we all need God's grace. But it still does not mean that I still do not have concerns and reservations like many of the other posters.
While it is easy to try to gaslight me or critic mine and other people's comments, it will not work here. I suggest you view the episodes again, put yourself in Meka's shoes and reread my comments again and those of others. Also, in this video, I still see signs of impenitency. I am not feeling any remorse.
If you still walk away thinking that people have PTSD, thinking that therapy is bad or people should not be accountable for their actions, then God bless you because I still stand my statements. If Michael has turned himself around then that is a good thing. We all need prayer and forgiveness. I hope he is sincere for the sake of his new family. I don't buy everything that Michael still says in this interview. If he checked out early on in the show/process to me he put so much effort into his lies than just to tell the truth or to stay silent. He said there was a mix up with Meka about the night he was teaching but I remember when Meka got to the studio, they said there wasn’t a man by his name that taught there at all. They said he was the janitor. Did he not have any videos of him teaching to prove it? No paperwork? He said he was checked out & didn’t care to prove it but I call bull. I just finished watching Season 10 and am now catching up on the gossip.
I'm actually surprised there isn't more Meka bashing in the comments. I mean, we can all see Michael's weaknesses and the help that he may need (that it sounds like he's trying to get). And I can obviously see Meka's strength and intelligence. But I definitely felt like she could have chilled out a lot more and just shown more of a softer side that (maybe) would have allowed Michael to be more honest. Honesty is just one part of intimacy. There was so little happiness, gentleness or even physical touch coming from her even as he was acknoweldging some pretty heavy stuff about his past. For me, even more than Michael's lies, that was the hardest thing to watch.
I'm not the most affectionate person either so I know it may be hard to be that way, especially with someone you just met, in front of cameras. Or maybe she just wasn't attracted to him. But she signed up for the experiment too and I think she could have done a whole lot more on her end, in spite of his lies, to give the experiment a fighting chance.
I think it’s kind of difficult to be gentle with someone whose knee jerk reaction is to tell a boldface lie. He was basically gaslighting her from day 1 of the honeymoon. He didn’t really give her the opportunity to be soft and even when she tried the lies just kept coming. I felt bad for Meka and was surprised that she stuck it out for as long as she did. I’ve personally dealt with a habitual liar and it’s very frustrating to remain calm when someone is pissing on you while telling you it’s raining. Yes, She signed up for the experiment but I highly doubt she knew she’d be matched with a liar.

And pretty much all people lie. I agree with Chris Rock when he said, "Men lie all the time. But women tell the biggest lies."
For instance, I think It's ironic that throughout the series there was a side story about Meka's hair that was obviously being told but not discussed. She went from natural in the beginning to the extensions or weave for the wedding. Before and after the ceremony, they kept quoting him on how much he loved women with natural hair. And then they had the one episode where she decided to go back to her natural hair and he helped her take out the extensions. Then, in the last episode, they focused on her doing her natural hair routine by herself. This in itself was a story (though un-verbalized) about the lie that has become acceptable or normalized for her to tell about herself almost every single day.
I mean, a lot has been written and said about black women and our hair. As a black woman, I've worn my hair in all kinds of styles. I know we have a lot to navigate with our hair. But that's just one example with Meka. (I mean what the heck is her job as a "Category Analyst" anyway?)
It's just a shame that there is so much focus on the obvious lies Michael told with his mouth and no acknowledgement or focus on the lies Meka told through her living.
Don't even get me started about the deeper fairy tale world that Taylor seemed to be living in.

I can't believe how much I'm understanding his explanations. Mike is being as transparent as possible. One of the responses to fear triggers is to freeze. I can understand how he just lost it. Must be incredibly shameful to see it play out on a national stage. I'm glad he overcame - and fully apologize. There is no growth without accountability.
I can see how he might freeze initially but when they talked about it with one of the experts, a second convo, I would think he wouldn't double down on his initial reaction. But he was in lie mode so...🤷🏽♀️

I hope that he is being truthful that he is a changed man. The new wife will know as time goes on. To me, he was trying to be bold like Brandon but in a subtle way. I couldn’t stand Zach either, the way he treated Mindy. Mike’s new wife had a bad microphone…couldn’t hear her.

I just have to say this, Mike and his new wife is the example of an Beta husband and Alpha Wife, and their's nothing wrong with that. I think as a society we should normalized these relationships because it works for them and many men should be fine with being an beta and that they need a more dominant partner who will help them to be accountable and mental support their needs. Lets be honest Mike tried to be dominant/alpha and he couldn't handle it and it blew up in his face as being a liar and "bad guy" representation. I'm glad he found someone who will help him grow as a person and accept his flaws/mental health.

Really! I just watched season 10 with Michael and Meka. I felt sorry for Michael, from day one, Meka made it clear that she did not like the guy, if you listen to their conversations Meka favorite word to Michael was “You” and Micheal’s word to Meka was “I”. From day one Meka had no intentions of consummating the marriage ever, she attacked him on every issue, she constantly shook her head negatively, never looked at him, supported him, or encouraged him, it was all about him proving himself to her. Meka showed no emotions towards Michael (I get the impression she hated him from first sight) It was not a marriage it was a constant battle and he was losing, he was cornered and trying to get out. I wondered if Michael realized that his life would have be like that everyday for the rest of his life. Meka was truly a judgmental female with opinions for everyone, a true busy-body who could not shut UP! Hey good luck Mike, all women are not Mekas. I feel sorry for who ever Meka ends up with (she is in a dog-eat-dog world and she is a PIT BULL)
