    nice tablet
there should be more such options on the market, when user has a freedom to choose OS and software to work with

Nice to see you there my friend. Greetings from Central Florida! Anyway, very interesting concept. I would get one to play with. I long for the day that I can have a Linux tablet with the rest of the ecosystem like cell phones, smart watch, pens and more. Then take my work home to my Linux desktop.

What I love about the Rockhip RK3588S SoC is that the Mali-G610 GPU is the same one as in MediaTek's Dimensity 8000/8100/8200 mobile chipset, which is found in the likes of Xiaomi Poco X4 GT, Oppo Reno8 Pro, and Vivo V30 Pro. Mobile gaming shouldn't be much of an issue.
As for the fydeOS itself, I've been using it on my 2014 HP x360 Windows laptop, and it works beautifully. I love that I have three OSs to play with in one package. I know not all Android apps work in x86, but using Linux desktop software in it is a breeze.
P.S. Linux software support might not be as good on ARM as on x86, but it's the same kind of problem facing with Windows ARM and I can still live with it.

If they can get the containerization working properly this might be pretty cool. Linux they "should" be able to get get working basically natively since they have the hardware/firmware and if they would get good android performance then this would be quite appealing.
It's mostly a software thing too, since the rockchip 3588S has been seen to be pretty solid and snappy running linux or android on other devices that have the chip and support those OS'es.

Hmm, now I am curious how this compares with the PineTab of Pine64...? :)

That sounds horrible. Just save up a little bit more and get a normal Surface Pro.

Technically, ChromiumOS started out in life as a Gentoo distro.

@@farishanafiah8461 but the issue is it's too old and controlled by google and it's locked firmware.
It will ware out due to poor updates or lack of support later in the upcoming years.
All I think is it is good for students or kids or for education or web devs, but some of those hardware can go way beyond that, if you can naively install linux on them it would be more nice :).

Did you try Manjaro ( Arch made easy. ) works nicely as a secondary OS on my Steam Deck up to date and reasonably trouble free only need the command line every second month or so.
