People are tired. We are moving over to Vancouver from Portland in November. I'm honestly just tired. We are also moving our business there. It's sad. I've lived here most of my life. I have to protect my children, though. Maybe families moving out will bring the young people back in?
Imagine that, legalize drugs, allow homelessness, and slow growth with regulations of building codes, and housing costs go up and then people leave. I wonder why! Lol
@@xisigma Where would you move to if it doesn’t pan out? And are you talking about local politicians being voted out? Who specifically, the mayor? I hope Rene makes it in personally. Cheers
Lived on the Eastside for almost 18 years. After being home invaded in ‘21, attacked by a homeless woman because I wanted to help her and new neighbors coming from Oakland who started a meth lab in the garage made me move to the more expensive Westside. Interestingly enough that pushed my credit score up by zip code. Problem solved.;)
@@doreenplischke2169 2021 eastside Portland was hell for those of us who lived there during that time! I got out after that too. It used to be so charming, hope it comes back.
I live in Gresham. My home was invaded by a homeless woman as well. She literally setup a camp on the street outside of my house. Took way too long for the cops to actually do anything about it. And it turns out she had a lengthy criminal record of abusing other people just the same.
I moved out of Portland OR to Milwaukie OR in 2021; and then moved back to Portland in 2023 as Clakamas County was too expensive for me. Do not move to Clakamas County iif you are low income... the support services are crappy.
True Californians outbid homes and crowd the roads, but they also bring money with them. The entire Oregon economy is dependent on its scenery attracting outside investment. Nike and Intel pay penny taxes since the city council bends over backwards for them.
@@xisigma agreed, people who are telling everyone to leave would live in a dump without all the outside investment and interest. Besides being a beautiful place, Portland’s problems haven’t tanked the city because we still have fresh people moving in with fresh ideas and outlook. Cheers

@@Buckseed Yeah I had friends move to Boise who now regret it. And people are still moving a ton to our area, just a bit less than before to Portland proper. The suburbs are still growing, especially Vancouver.
