      There is definitely a TV station - behind the half-dinette bench, I think. Not sure about a microwave - I doubt it - but you can have a version with a bigger fridge and a gas oven

    This is the first one I've seen with a fixed transverse (well almost fixed) bed. Has everything I'm looking for, however with the sliding door on the wrong side it's a non starter for me.

    • @peterv3642
      @peterv3642 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are loads like this on the market. If you want one with the sliding door on the UK side try the Adria Twin 600 SPB - a great van!

    • @yessam1460
      @yessam1460 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm just curious because I'm getting a van what does the side have to do with it why would that negatively effect your choice?

    • @vontrap6942
      @vontrap6942 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yessam1460 I think because in the UK, the sliding door would open to traffic rather than to the pavement. So it's a safety issue as rear passengers would have to exit into traffic.

    Flush fitting windows that can be “popped out with a screwdriver” are better for security in what way?
    And what motorhome user with any “on the road” experience would store heavy cans in a high cupboard only held by a magnetic catch?
    I agree, the shelf at the head end of the bed is an accident waiting to happen.
    I like the way the toilet goes back into a recess. The sink is worse than a joke.
    Other than all of the above, great review. Thank you very much.

    The amount of times he says “Extra cost option” / “Optional spec” / “You can have” is ridiculous considering it’s supposed to be ultra high spec already

    • @peterv3642
      @peterv3642 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, it's high spec because the dealer (Hayes) has added lots of options. That's the way with many imported 'vans. You can have a basic model (which UK buyers don't usually want) or add as much extra spec as you desire. This dealer has found that really high spec works best

    • @jonm9501
      @jonm9501 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@peterv3642 it can't be ultra high spec if you say the majority of them are ordered with high specs, and still there's stuff missing. Ultra high spec should tick every single box.

    Excellent review. I’m liking Pilote more and more as they move away from a distinct French style to more quality sleek vans like Adria and Malibu. I think you were quite taken by the P626D which is a few centimetres longer and probably wider too but about the same cost. Which would you have for a 2 bed van and why?

    • @peterv3642
      @peterv3642 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @peterv3642
      @peterv3642 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have you tried one recently? I think they're much quieter now and a lot depends on where your head is in bed in relation to the fridge location. Some have a quiet/night setting, too. There's no faffing about changing between power sources with a compressor fridge, either, and no ugly vents on the outside
