That it felt like a prison _cell._ Then @8:50 Sarah said Louise's cleaning routine is like a prison _sentence._ Since she is unable to start her day until the morning routine is done. Their lives are so different. Yet OCD/ANXIETY symptoms are similar when viewing one another. It's interesting to see.
I grew up in a hoard house but it was never anything disgusting. My parents stored a lot of VHS 📼 tapes (yes I know aging myself), figurines, magazines, newspapers, mail, roughly 3-4 large laundry baskets all the time just sitting on the floor, things my parents intended to fix but never did etc. I refuse to have stuff just laying around. Even the storage containers and lids, spices and extra sauces are in storage bins inside the cabinet. My entire fridge is completely organized in storage bins and same for my pantry. I refuse to have things just sitting around on surfaces, it’s pointless and it stresses me.
It's so interesting how our parents' habits affect us, isn't it? My mom would let things pile up then go on a cleaning frenzy all at once. Both my sister and I went into adulthood with this habit and I still struggle with it 😑
@@mariahsmom9457 True. Perhaps it isn't a good idea to pair an OCD cleaner with a hoarder. Hoarder personalities are very difficult to treat. An OCD cleaner is hardly qualified to help treat Hoarders as Dr. Stelios could probably attest to.
Adam and Laura had a very successful cleanout. I feel that Adam was very helpful in listening and allowing Laura to grieve the end of her previous relationship. That was probably what helped her move forward and upwards. Adam should be a therapist honestly.
It's sad that a lot of the people with OCD on this series get worse after dealing with the houses they've organized and cleaned. I think the people they've helped have made more progress.

From what I unde about British culture is that being obsessed with keeping your teeth straight and white is considered a sign of vanity. Americans, on the other hand, are absolutely OBSESSED with clean teeth. It's more of a hygiene thing in that culture. Like in Korea men have skincare routines because skincare isn't considered a beauty thing there, it's a hygenie thing. Different cultures have different stands of hygiene.
I have OCD myself but not to the extent of the people on this show but I have habits like Haley that if I don't do them I feel doomed but what really bothers me is how OCD these people are but they're willing to get their hair all over the toilet and the sink it's disgusting. Tie your damn hair when you're cleaning
I would just like to point out that your skin has a natural level of beneficial bacteria present that protects you. I once had a boss that obsessively washed her hands and used sanitizer all day long. She eventually ended up with warts all over her hands, and her doctor told her if she she didn't quit the warts would only get worse. Constant hand washing and sanitizer use is not necessarily good for you.

On Laura: Feeling awful for her... Imagine having so much crap, yet not doing anything about it leads your partner to leave?? Glad it's not this bad with my bf, but he literally will not go through anything. Already figured out that if I bought a house..it would just be for me. So I get it, but it's sad like addiction.
If she loved her husband and wanted to make the marriage work she would have dumped all that stuff and kept the house spotless. She didn’t care enough to try and out forth the effort to make the marriage work. No man wants to live in a nasty house.
Sarah in my opinion still has too much stuff in her Bookcase. I had alot of books (many of which are out of print) but I got rid of them and gave to a Charity Shop. I'm sure that for some folks it was a treasure trove.

I've noticed that, too. There's free healthcare with the NHS but apparently dental work isn't covered. So many people also have missing teeth.
