    Up next- I Got A Chip Implanted in a Biohacker's Garage: • I Got a Chip Implanted...
    Neil Harbisson was born completely colorblind, but when doctors told him there weren’t any treatments available, he started thinking about another way he could “see” color.
    So he worked to design an implant with a sensor that could pick up light and read wavelengths. A corresponding chip that’s implanted against his skull then translates the colors into vibrations.
    Since his successful implant surgery in 2004, Neil has been able to “hear” colors and feel their vibrations. Each color Neil sees is perceived as a note that he hears.
    But it hasn’t been easy. After losing his job and almost getting denied a passport, Neil now works to protect the rights of cyborg and change the public’s perception of them.

    I work with optical sensors and I'm wondering if has ever upgraded his antenna. I mean, if he still has his original sensor then he is way outdated. Using newer ones he could have better sensitivity to hue and shades. But then I wonder if changing his sensors would mess up his perception.

This was really, really cool and inspiring. I thing Neil has some great lessons for all of us and there's a lot we can take away from that.

    Every time he would bump something above or ahead of his head, it would crack it out of his skull, risking brain damage. Even if it was real, it's a nonsense gimmick for attention, or maybe to sell his work, but is totally unnecessary. A simple small earpiece can do the same thing... no need to bolt it into his skull. A hand-held device or phone app can also tell you the color of something. The dizzy flake just loves the attention by having something sticking out of his head. This is a flexible USB LED light. He attached it to a curved base that covers a bald spot on his head, glued in place with fake eyelash glue, or other body decoration glue. Think about it... shouldn't it have been mounted up front instead of in back? He's just covering his bald spot.

      @PSKResearch ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Streloski How so? The part of the brain that processes vision isn't even back there, but his bald spot where it's easy to glue goofy objects to his head is there. This is a con-job. Hearing colors can be accomplished with a simple earpiece -- no need to install it on your head. This is faked for attention. Is that hair even real or a wig?

    This is superb. Brings to mind though the rift in the deaf community .....in so as some people who are hearing impaired are dead set againstinner ear implants because it will dissolve the Sign Language community. While the flip side is dead people getting it and loving it. I wonder if the same sort of rift may develop in this gentleman's community. Interesting to think about. But this is still a beautiful video. He is so genuine and well spoken. I would love to watch a sit down convo with him and Cecelia from Students wit Psychosis. That would be groundbreaking.

    Please say this antenna is easily attached and detached via a magnet mechanism or something similar. As he already stated, some people think it's a camera and are quite hostile to it. I couldn't help wondering what happens if they try to physically pull it from his head, if it is attached to his skull. And does it have an off switch? Some other comment mentionned trying to sleep while hearing sounds with eyes closed, but I could imagine getting a headache, like when you listen through earphones for an hour or so.

      Yeah idk how we managed to exist for centuries without a metal tube implanted onto our skulls. Cyborg artists are the new furries.

    I hope this power of cyborg technology will be not used in a bad way. This is good but take note of bad consequences carefully . Example. it's easier to do assassination in a high technology using a small flying gun. You cannot escape by that. Using this must not be an excuse to some to do some hidden agendas. I want you to know that the high intelligent people is more dangerous. We better have many average IQ and live peacefully and live to what truly matters. Soft and Hard skills both are best use to that dark tactics also. It is not always innovating for good behind it. Intelligent people can be the deadly criminals of the world. The most deadly criminals have high IQ. They can do the most evil in the world also. Every skill can be used in dark tactics.
    I hope this cyborg can be used by the lost sense people only like blindness only or any hearing problems etc. Please do not expand a lot. It's dangerous. Also those lost of senses people who was helped by cyborg technology have more power by that. That's good gift. But to those normal people who do not have any problems must not use it.
