To make an excuse, Korea is cold until April, heat waves start in July, and heavy rains come in August. The normal period for grass is only 3 months. For reference, the grass at Ulsan Stadium was newly replaced at the end of last year. And the team used various equipment such as artificial lighting and large fans to care for the grass, but the grass could not withstand the extreme Ulsan weather. And this grass will probably not last a year and will probably be replaced again soon.
@@elekow7998 I mean previous ACL also ulsan pitch look terrible, aren't japan situation also same as in korea, cuz if i recall they also have the same weather. I think they didn't manage the pitch well.
@@dremondzerano Ulsan was in a similar situation last year. That's why they replace the grass almost every summer. People compare everything between Korea and Japan, but the two countries' situations are not the same. For example, Korea has colder winters and longer rainy seasons than Japan. Of course, Japan's grass is world-class. Actually, the K-League Federation is announcing a plan for grass management after this season, but I don't know how effective it will be. Korea's climate is more extreme than you might think.

I think one reason why the pitch looks terrible is because the stadiums in Korea are owned by the city government not the clubs themselves. Probably the city government feels maintaining the pitch is not of the utmost importance to them
Just my observation, Korean teams don't field their best XI in Asia club competitions, as either fighting for the league title or FA Cup, or fighting to avoid relegation.
