    It’s nice to hear the actual science behind the practice. Thank you!

    Thanks for watching I hope you enjoyed the video. If you did be sure to give it a like! Let me know in the comments how long you generally take to harden off your plants in your area and share the tricks you find most helpful in your zone.

    I've watched dozens of hardening of videos. Never have I come across a video that is in such detail and despite the fact that I hate science I thoroughly enjoyed this video that I actually watched it about 3 times over.
    Keep up the work good work👍 👌

    Great detailed explanation of hardening off plants. I new it was to acclimate to new environment, but now with a simple explanation, what's really going on is an extremely important step to get right. I will take more time this year, and follow your steps. You are always so helpful explaining the science so every day gardeners can understand. Thank you Ashley for sharing your knowledge!

    Thank you. As a beginner gardener, I wish I had found your channel waaaaaay earlier, I mean, waaaay earlier. I killed so many vegetable plants last year 😫 BUT I am so excited this year because I found the right channel. I am a bit of a nerd myself, and I totally understand when you explain as to why. I am going to take lots of photos this year. This channel should be rocking it tbh. 🤘

    Thanks for telling us the science behind it. I like to know why I’m doing something, not just being told to do something.

    Thank you for sharing this process. Can you share how hardening should also work for indoor plants?

    What if I'm moving tomatoes and peppers from the house the greenhouse? Maybe I shouldn't bother with the greenhouse... IDK :(

      Haha that’s good! And the greenhouse is a good middle ground. High moisture, high temps and no wind.

    Do I need to start hardening off in the shade if the plant was growing in a greenhouse? Just wondering how much of the sunlight gets refracted by the greenhouse windows.

    • @GardeningInCanada
      @GardeningInCanada  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will want to prep them for the future wind and changes in moisture so the hardening off period is much shorter but should still happen

      @@GardeningInCanada Hardening for changes in moisture just means you should intentionally water them less consistently?

    • @GardeningInCanada
      @GardeningInCanada  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No I mean more ambient humidity so the greenhouse will generate have a high humidity then the outdoors. So preparing them for that change.

    I sun burned my tomato plants today kinda bad you think they will come back? I live in Utah, I put them in direct sun and they have mostly in the house due to cold weather here.

      @@GardeningInCanada ummm. There’s still green on the stem and a few leafs left on each stem. Kinda pale color where it’s green.

      If you still have some leaves they can come back. But the shock may leave them “dormant” for a bit.

      Thank you so much for getting back with me. I’ve never seen it happen until this year on our plants.

    0:10 to 0:20 was just a very fast slur of sounds coming out as one giant word. Please speak slowly and enunciate each thing so we can hear it all. Thanks!
