A giant guitarist with an excellent performance of Weiss. When i was listening to him, i thought i was sitting in a church and the music sounded to me as if it was coming from the sky. Thanks for uploading.
I love Leopold Weiss but at least equally how you perform his music. I am truly moved. (and also a tiny little bit jealous). thanks for posting, greetings from Holland,
very nice. I play Weiss on an 8 string. I confess it took me a long time to get the location of those two extra strings into my hand. I am not, therefore, too tempted to take on a 13 stringer.
Well played Mark. We should meet up once I've got my 11 string & try a duet! I think the last time we tried a duet - on boring old 6 string guitars - was the Bream arrangement of an English William Lawes piece?.....in 1983 perhaps!
Fantastic playing of a great work. Do you know if there is a transcription of this work for the 10 string classical guitar. I have searched quite a few places for the this work but can't find anything.
A very late reply, but I have a video of this piece played on my 10-string guitar using Carulli's decadorde tuning. It pales in comparison to this though. It was actually this video that inspired me to try to find a way to play it on ten strings.
I love your playing and that guitar! Can you tell us what the scale length of the guitar is? I am assuming it is tuned to D minor like a Baroque lute. What strings do you use?
I’ve watched a bunch of your videos, thanks for posting them. I love the music of Weiss, it’s just got a depth to it that makes it feel different from a lot of music from the same era. Did you get your guitar custom made or were you able to buy it from a shop?
Mark Anthony McGrath's new album The Weiss Machine was released in June 2015 and is available from www.markanthonymcgrath.com - it features 18 tracks of Mark's interpretations of Weiss compositions performed on 13-stringed guitar.
Fantastic! It's so nice! Anyway, I BELIEVE (1) you transcribe this yourself, and (2) you've tried to make it for the 6-strings guitar first but it just didn't work. Is that right? If it is, please share us your thought! The question is: do you think transcribing Weiss to the 6-strings guitar is worth-doing?

Beautiful music, very well played!

greetings from Holland,
I cannot describe it in words.
you don't need to, this music is doing it ;)
Thanks! D minor tuning indeed, scale-640mm and a big thanks to Savarez for strings; the first 4 are carbon.
Excelente equilíbrio dos baixos nesse violão de 13 cordas. Emocionante interpretação e sonoridade. Parabéns!
This is such an outstanding performance, and I love the bass notes on the additional 7 strings over a 6 string classical guitar.
Its so beautiful!!!
beautiful playing
Aerial! It sounds so much better than on a six string. Congratulations for the player and the luthier.
Marvellous!
thats really good. you should have a couple million more veiws
Muy hermoso y sentido!!!

mein Gott , es klingt so schön!
Lovely play of a great piece. It looks easy but I have a feeling it is rather difficult to play this good !
it's not hard to play this well, it is just rare.
Beautiful...

You really should make a cd out of these (Weiss) I'd buy it :)
I am curious as to how much one of those instruments cost? Or perhaps student model instead.

Which is the tunning of this 13 stringed guitar? Is it like that of the 14 courses barroque luth?
