@@JNBTuning isn’t doing the tensioner and idler pulley good preventative maintenance? I’m putting together a shopping cart for this job and I’m on the fence whether I should do it all or just slap a belt on. I have no noises and my AC occasionally underperforms.
@@almeida8x you can definitely know when you need to replace it by inspecting it. You will know when it is bad and worn out. It would hurt to buy the parts now and do it if needed be. In my case the tensioner and idler pulley was still in good shape
@@JNBTuning yeah I see what you mean. For the idler I’ve seen that you can wiggle the pulley for play and you can do the screwdriver trick to listen for any strange bearing sound. For the tensioner, I’m not sure how to check its health. I’ve seen that you can check for tension when you go to remove the belt and a lack of tension could be a sign, but that’s about it. Not very confident in my ability to check that. I’ll keep looking for any tips on here and forums, but from what I’ve seen so far, there’s not really a solid guide that discusses ways to health check the pulleys while doing the belt. The main reason I’m spending so much time figuring this out is that on start up, there’s an intermittent humming or resonance that comes from the front end and my AC is finicky sometimes where it’ll switch between ice cold and ambient. Thanks for the quick replies on a vid this old.
I was hoping someone would finally make a video how to replace the 9th gen Si belt , thank you.
You’re very welcome👍🏻
