This was so good. I love the bio mechanics of it all. After my oesophagectomy, the surgical team wanted me out of bed straight after surgery, that is the day after my 9 hr operation. Somehow by following these exact steps, with about 5 lines still strapped to me, including paravertabrael and catheter I got into a chair whilst being in ICU. The nurses were amazing. They really encouraged me to go for it. I am 53 years old. Mind you, my happy button or the pain relief button which you press for constant pain relief worked a treat and came in handy. It was my best friend.

On 8 /5.23 I had a hip replacement and came home 2 days later I do not use a leg lifter to get on and off the bed I'm on some heavy pain relief but getting better each day.

Not good.. first of all they should suggest a leg lifter.. more importantly, even without..the subject continually bent at the waist to a degree that was risky for dislocation, and using the other leg to lift the affected one puts pressure on the joint that doesnt need to be there.. Did anyone review this with an actual patient? Sorry Dr.. .. there are fifty better ways to do this and protect the joint

    After what type of surgery?
    This was not helpful..
Are you sure you're medical proffesionals?
My surgical site is directly in the center of my abdomen and you want me to do a sit up..?

      It's for knee surgery

You should use somebody who actually had a total knee replacement.
So people can see the whole truth. The real pain, grunting, groaning and how long it can take to get in position and to actually get your foot down. The not knowing what to do or how to do it even though the therapist is telling you.
