He's been using his genius to explore the cross section of technology and the nonprofit sector since 2020.
In this fireside we get into the meat of Ai and its role in the nonprofit sector:
✨ Is Ai Going To Take My Job As A Grant Writer?
✨ How Grantable Came To Be
✨ How Is Grantable Better Than Chat Gpt For Grant Writers?
✨ How To Learn Ai Re-Training & Prompting (Boundaries, Examples)

Great information. AI is definitely rocking the boat and will eventually be a tool that changes how we get things done. But I’ve watched how technology has changed the way we get things done for decades. Yes, I’m aging myself here, but in high school, I sat at an IBM electric typewriter, and that was all the rage at the time. I was graded on how fast I was, and how few mistakes I made. I think that’s the point with everything we’ve seen over the years through how we listen to music to how we apply for jobs. But I think you guys are focused on the right things and let’s stay positive and use AI to enrich our lives and make things easier. 😊

That's exactly the attitude we're taking. Let's curiously lean in. History does teach us a lot about how quickly things change (and how we always think it will be the end of us!).

Phenomenal interaction. Phillip very succinctly put into perspective the most productive ways to utilize GPT and Grantable, and how we can understand exactly what GPT does to generate its synthesized products. it brings into scope the usefulness and limitations of these AI platforms to date. Information presented is very much appreciated!

Developing an excellent Prompt Engineering skillset is the key to LLM proficiency. It is a TOOL. The only people who are going to be displaced by LLM technology are the ones who refuse to learn how to use them properly. I have never written a Grant proposal but I am intrigued with the process. I have a feeling that with the right tools and a good cause I might just be pretty good at this.

Excellent point. Ai is a tool, not a means of replacement. Having never written a grant proposal before, what's caught your eye about the field? In the meantime, check out the Ai software we're building from scratch to help our members find success faster: th-cam.com/video/gja-mi6eL34/w-d-xo.html

@@LearnGrantWriting ... I will definitely check out what you are up to on the software front. I do feel however that making the process too easy is going to work against everyone. There should be a personal (in my opinion) touch on every proposal ??? I would hate to see the whole process become generic ... ???
My interest in Grant writing is that I am broke. After getting hurt at work and getting retrained I ended up completely unprepared and disillusioned with life in the office. After 35 years as an industrial concrete finisher sitting in an office as a paper pusher, project coordinator was brutal. I was offered a job as a QC for a pipeline company if I could take a series of courses ... to the tune of $15,000 ... It was during the process of seeking outside funding that I discovered that Grant Writing was a thing. I have reached out to a Canadian outfit in my province (Alberta) and versed in Canadian Grant Procedures. The focus for a minute is to get me the funding to train for the opportunity in front of me. After that I will dive into Grant Writing to help other people in the same situation. The position is a month on month off rotational position and that will give me plenty of time to 'give back' once I have settled into the new position ( ... should I win the contract).
... sorry about the novel. LOL

I agree. There should always be a personal touch to your proposal. Ai gives writers the advantage of having something to edit, tweak, tune, and polish. Ai won't replace the critical human touch necessary in the field. Thank you for filling in some context above. Wishing you luck in your new position. Reach out to us when you're settled and looking to use your grant writing superpowers for even greater good!

What does AI bode for people new to the field? I myself decided to transition into it. No job experience, but learning the process is a start. I had kind of forgotten AI.

Hey there! Transitioning into a new field can feel daunting, but it's fantastic that you're diving into the process of learning. As for AI, it's definitely something worth considering in today's tech-driven world. AI can actually be a helpful tool for newcomers in grant writing.

I have an MA in a STEm field, so I have familaiirty with the process. Where does one start really? I haven't written a grant, and tryingto learn all the NIH codes is overwhelming. Not to mention private grants.@@LearnGrantWriting

Hi @CyberTechWolf! Starting out in grant writing can indeed feel overwhelming, especially with the abundance of information out there. Since you have a background in a STEM field, you already possess valuable skills that can be applied to grant writing. One good starting point is to focus on understanding the fundamentals of grant writing principles and practices. I recommend checking out this free grant writing designed for those without prior experience: www.learngrantwriting.org/become-a-paid-grant-writer/
