    The most impressive thing about Xenoblade X is that a HUUUUGE portion of its explorable map design is actually vertical, so if accounted for that it would easily double or triple its explorable size with actual game content (not to mention its water and air are also full is explorable islands).

      one of my favorite moments was in Oblivia; being able to avoid a ton of encounters by using the cliffs I could scale to shimmy pass to my objective, it was super fun to actually use the enviourment and vertical space to avoid stuff.

      Yep XC2 is pretty small comparatively to the other titles since a lot of it's titans explorable areas are mostly pretty linear open worlds, and it's the only game missing that really big circular area that buffs up the number a ton like Eryth/Erythia :)

    • @crispyhd935

    This took me by surprise.
    Now i know XCX has a lot of water surrounding everything too , but there are at least a few small islands with Unique Bosses or Loot to be found , XC2 cloud sea is just ... worthless.
    Interesting , XC2 is the smallest and biggest , depending on how / what you count.

    WTF? How is 2 so small without the cloud sea, and where the hell do all those 674km^2 cloud sea come from? I think that it is fair to include any ammount of cloud sea that is used for traversal in order to get to certain land masses, but this seems absolutely ridiculous...

    • @Sunowaddle
      @Sunowaddle  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      When assuming sizes you have to take linearity into concideration. XC2 is the only game that lacks a giant circular exlorable area that hugely increases the base size og the game like Eryth/Ertyhia does for XC1/XC3 respectively. XC2 has a lot of implied size, but at the end of the day the explorable areas aren't that huge, and most are pretty linear. Also, I elaborate a bit more at 8:16. But thanks for the feedback :)

I would just import the map into geogebra, then measure the area on the map that I knew the distance to in game, then just devide the in game distance with the unit distance in geogrebra, then finally just multiply that ratio with the scale value of the map inside geogebra which would make it 1:1, so I could just import it into photoshop to use a pixel analysis of the explorable area :)

One can't just dive into the cloud sea from Melnath and swim in definitely throughout the whole sea; the game stops you going out to far. Therefore, the entire cloud sea isn't actually explorable.
