I like both rap and doom metal personally. Rap I’m there mainly for the lyrics and there’s beats there that are good but I never listen to too much of it. 3 of my top 10 bands are doom metal and for doom there’s not much behind it except really the appeal of the atmosphere and more forbidding tone of riffs/melodies which isn’t everyone’s thing but stuff like Candlemass, Saint Vitus and even early Black Sabbath are top tier.

J. Just got home from a gig down the road from mine here on the Gold Coast. You would have blown your load. Caps, flannels, black rimmed glasses and stinky crust. Although it was a hardcore metal gig unfortunately the turnout put a recent misery show at the same venue home on a stretcher.

I just like it, now I'm not that easily bored by drawn out parts in songs or slow parts in general, it really just comes down to if I like the riff or not and of course drums and the rest but mostly the riffs are what I stay for, now there's probably some Doom out there that will flat out just put me to sleep but it wouldn't be because of it being slow in my case. I don't know though, I've yet to listen to a Doom track I didn't like but that's because I find what I do like and stick with that, I don't go out of my way to listen to stuff I don't like.

This one kinda sounded like if you just took out the breakdowns from Deathcore and called it a day. Not really a fan of the production either. I'll give you a controversial album recommendation. Listen to Kanye West's Yeezus album. The production on it is gritty and dark, he definitely took influences from the sonics of metal. It's an audio assault on your senses, very aggro for rap. Plus, Kanye is quite the character haha.
