I feel like Kage is a nice step forward from evil ryu, who was literally Ryu with darker tan skin and Akuma effects, this pushes the idea that Dark Hadou changes a person physically as well as their focus to a monstrous point to the extent they lose their humanity. Also the purple cracks look like a call back/call forward to the story "Ryu Final" where Ryu and Akuma finish their rivalry and it's revealed that the dark Hadou is literally all that's holding Akuma together anymore.

The Street Fighter 4 series was a part of my life... Never even got remotely excited for SF5. The speed, the sluggish look of it. This is just another confirmation I made the right call and saved me 60 euro's.
