I just rode on my new Ergon SM Sport saddle yesterday on the trail with a full tool a hydration pack. It is awesome I could ride longer and better. No joke! Wow what a great saddle!
Thank you. I bought smc mens m/l and super comfortable except when standing behind it. Like you said at @1:35, i should try the S/M for more freedom of movement
Well, yes if you're ±1cm from our dividing measurement 12cm then you can choose an s/m (small/medium) sized SMC saddle. If you'll have further question just feel free to ask us. Best, Niels
@ErgonBike i ended up buying a sm pro M/L. Much more freedom of movement - perhaps less padding - but hopefully comfortable for my typical 2-3 hrs rides
Hello, it seems that the measurements shown at 2:09 do NOT correspond with the specs on your website. I just bought a SR Comp men m/l. First, the cardboard that came with the saddle shows 260g for weight, whereas your website states 270g. Second the measurements shown at 2:09 show 269mm for length, whereas your website shows 272mm.. There are more inconsistencies with SM Comp/Sport as far as dimensions (width specifically). Which are the right specs..?
Legitimate question here, @michaelk7321 . On each and every product page you'll find an extra module called "the correct size". Within this module you can find both sizes of the specified saddle model - and their overall widths.
Where in Adelaide South Australia, can I get measured properly with a 'sit bone & soft tissue' as the machine you showed does this, so I can purchase the correct saddles for my 4 bikes ?
Did you found a fitter - or at least a retailer with a TS1 digital measurement tool to get to know the exact sitbone distance? Otherwise we recommend to use our "Saddle Selector" which is able to get you the right saddle width without measuring. www.ergonbike.com/de/saddle-selector.html
If there are issues on longer rides you can grab yourself the SMC series though. The "c" stands for "comfort" and therefore the padding is a bit bigger/softer and we integrated a gel pad as well.
Bonjour Je recherche une selle très confortable pour faire du Gravel, pour des sorties minimum 5h, jusqu'à plusieurs jours. Mes eschions font 123mm, j ai 48 ans et je suis pas très souple, poids76km. Quelles selles vous me recommander ? Merci
Hello, I measured my sit-bone at 11.5cm in between small medium/large and medium/large. I wish you had 3 sizes. Small, medium, and Large. Many people have recommended your saddles, but I would like to find a saddle w/ 145mm width because it’s too risky to buy a saddle that does not fit and therefore is uncomfortable.
Hey, makes sense so far, but did you got to know that we that we recommend both sizes, as long as you are ±1cm away from the size separator (12cm). Choose the narrower one for a sporty riding style and the wider one for more comfort. On top, you wrote about a saddle width of 145cm. In order to give you a good advice we need to know your kind of bike sports and what you ride mostly - or which kind of saddle for which bike you're in search of.
hi , i like to buy ergon saddle , based on saddle selector the size recommended was S/M size , however i have issue on my backpain . should i buy S/M or choose more comfort M/L ? thanks
Go with the size that fits your sit bones, size S/M...BUT if your sitbone distance is about 12cm ±1cm you're allowed to choose for yourself. The smaller for a better on/off and a sportier approach to biking. The wider one for more comfort.
Not really, but if a bigger padding is needed...for sure you can use the SM series on a road bike as the shells of both series are equal. Only the padding thickness and the -materials are different between the models.
I’ve had my measurements professionally done I’m a very tall guy on an Ebike I do sit down in the saddle a lot but my sit bone measurement is 105mm 10.5 cm so are u guys saying I’m a small to Medium I’m also 209 cm tall I love the Ergon range what would you suggest I’m currently useing a Sau Palo gel seat to give some Comfort
@@hijazrahman2483 Yes, with a distance of 12.5cm you're in between...and therefore you are allowed to use both. With being in the middle at 12cm ±1cm sitbone measurement we recommend to use the smaller S/M size for a better on/off and a sportier approach to biking. Use the wider M/L one for more comfort here.
Helo. Need help. If i want to adjust my saddle height, where i need to put the measuring tape on the saddle? From center of BB to center/mid of the saddle or 2/3 of the saddle or where your sitbones sit?? Ty for info
I just bought the S/M Ergon ST Core Prime Men's. However I felt pain and numbness when I sat on it. I saw others saying that it's very comfortable. Why am I experiencing pain and numbness?
Winson, we are not sure. Please visit your local bike fitter to confirm the saddle and bike are 100% fitted correctly to you. The professional fitter can quickly identify other common discomforts.
...on top you can send us a picture of your bike (taken from aside) in order to see the leveling of the saddle and the offset between cockpit and saddle. This is always a good indicator to mumbs and pains.
With 11.8cm we recommend BOTH sizes as we say... Choose the smaller size for a better on/off and a sportier approach to biking. Use the wider one for more comfort.

Great info , thanks. Will definitely try out the SR Pro saddle.
thank you
Bought a SM Pro few days ago. Can't wait to test it 😃

Helo. Need info on saddle rail. What is the difference between carbon rail and tinox rail on comfort especially on alluminium bike?? Ty for info
Carbon rails are even more flexible and therefore more durable than TiNox - even the hollow TiNox rails.
Do you need to add 2cm to sitbone measurement before selecting a saddle like other saddle makers recommend?
No. For Ergon saddles, your size is based on your sit bone measurement only. There are no other additional numbers to add.
@@ErgonBike thank you
Since I got my sm pro I did about 400km however I wonder as padded underpants what combo would you recommend for longer rides.

Yes, your Ergon saddles size is S/M. Size is reflected on over all center-to-center sitbone width.

What's the difference between SM Pro Men and SM Comp?
They use different foams. The SM Pro has lighter weight foam.
is the pro’s foam better quality or anything? or it is just the weight?

95mm sit bone c/c. Your saddles are all too wide, sorry.
Woooow, 9.5 cm sitbone distance is little - even for a man - and I never had a male tester with such narrow sitbone measurement. 🤯
