I don't know if your favorite is pop/rap/classical/rock/hip-hop/electronica, whatever. They're now called "Sick as Heck Band" and they are now THE ONE BAND everyone is talking about around the world. Nice! So your favorite just got an upgrade! They're huge! They dominate social media, and are everywhere in terms of cultural awareness and musical relevance. Now imagine that "Sick as Heck Band" has been around for 5 years and transformed popular music into something suited perfectly for you. But then, as always seems to happen, a bunch of idiots try (and fail) to copy the style of "Sick as Heck Band". And somehow, these new, worse (so much worse!) bands become more popular. Disaster! Your favorite style of music turns into a bunch of jerks playing boring, predictable, cringy nonsense. *_The genre of music that suits you so well, that was formed and molded by your favorite band_* ... dies. But that isn't even the worst of it. At least when something dies, there's usually an element of respect for the life it led and what it accomplished. But not here. Now, the music that suited you, that was made by your favorite group, changes (in most peoples' opinion) to actual garbage. People are stomping and spitting on not just "Sick as Heck Band", but everything they stood for. For their sound, for the way they even tuned their instruments. This was the music you were in love with! Remember: this band was everything you felt was right about music! They stood for everything you thought music should be! But that isn't the end of it. Nor is it the worst of it. Because then the next generation comes along. And for the next *_20_* years everyone says this: "Music like 'Sick as Heck Band'" is so dumb! Auto-tune and hip-hop beats! 🤣 Just listen to this music I made on my homemade maracas!" And everyone falls in love with maraca music. Yes. With maraca music. All anyone talks about is maraca music. This continues. For 20 years. Then, out of nowhere, a band from Estonia, dressed in space suits, comes out with music that reminds you of your favorite group "Sick as Heck Band" but it's _even better._ That's what people feel when they discover Band-Maid. Kanami is a favorite guitarist of all time of mine. She is right there with EVH, Slash. The way she structures songs, the guitar parts, are incredible. She had tweeted a beautiful tribute to EVH( Eddie Van Halen), saying how she loved his phrasing and tapping. Kanami really shows her love of his tapping here, as well as Onset. Love this band. Kanami is “ tapping” during her solo. It’s right handed hammer ons, and pull offs. She hammers her fingers down on notes, while also pulling of on notes, so she’s tapping on the fretboard.
You'll definitely want to have your flashlight ready when you do their new one, "About Us". Also a box of tissues. IIRC, One OK Rock used the same kind of light columns in one of their MVs.

Live....MV.....either way, you can't go wrong with Band Maid. You won't be able to find a live performance for every song. So, I say when you can find a live performance, go live, (unless its a bad cell phone quality) and when you can't, go MV. It's your channel, do what you want, your doing great!
This is one of the two songs of theirs that kept me from losing my mind during lockdown. It also has my favorite Kanami guitar solo. It's not important when you discover them, only THAT you HAVE discovered them. Small venues are the best to see bands, because of the intimacy. They have played 8n Germany. She plays that fast due to LOTS of practice.
Have you ever watched a foodie anime? You mentioned that you were interested in cooking, then I would recommend "Shokugeki no Souma" (Food Wars) or "Isekai Shokudou" (Restaurant to Another World), among many others. The downside to these shows is that you may find yourself raiding the refrigerator at 1am. :)

Bandmaid's playing, the performance is so great. They can be from classic locks to novel locks. Please listen and have fun. Don't miss "BUBLE" and"DAYDREAMING". "LOVEBITES" of power metal is also recommended. “WINDS OF TRANSYLVANIA”collaborated with anime. "GLORY TO THE WORLD" like a classical opera, etc.
Oh and if you love lights, you'll love the live videos....ahem.....lasers. 😉 They did play in Germany in 2019. Small venue, yes. I just remember low ceiling on the stage, a pole, and the word logo on the back wall.

About how much she missed them, and looked forward to meeting them again at Budokan which is considered the biggest of the concert scenes in Japan. Live video is a must and yes it's with subtitles for their fans all over the world. Most surprising was that Saiki who is by some considered as "cold" held a minute long heartfelt speech before the song.

Nooooo don’t feel disappointed! Feel fortunate that you have a ton of albums worth of band maid songs to take your time with and discover. I would have loved to have followed them from the start but it would have been hard to wait between albums. And they push out albums pretty fast!

Band-Maid music videos are always great to listen to.....however, when the ladies play live....they tend to "upgrade" their songs from "Great" to "Fabulous" level......they have intro sections, and solos not found in their "official recorded versions" .....they are amazing on stage ...

Great review - for me I had to listen many times. Think to do "live stream" with us you need 1000 subscriptions first, so we wait then can bring "virtual" flowers 🌺. You seem to like their harder songs so I think you'll love I can't live without you, Rinne, Dice and Warning. Choose Me is a pretty good one to and also my fav from them.
