I do have some question tho, i am new to the game and I tend to just follow whatever available on event timer while progressing the story bit by bit (i play in chronological order and currently still in HoT). Other than that, i play wvw with a little bit of pvp. Do you think that I am missing out a lot by not playing strike and fractals at all? Is there any item that can only be obtained through those game modes? I joined a guild but it seems like my online time is way different from them (i'm from SEA), so its hard to look for group.
First of all, welcome to the game 😀, second of all you do not need to do strikes and fractals, you can play at your own pace. Exotic gear is all you need for story and open world, but if you want the best gear you can start doing strikes while doing the story. I recommend easy 3 in LFG so you get comfortable with group content, also do not expect to drop ascended items, it can happen but it's rare, you should focus on gathering the currencies and buy the pieces from the vendor. As for fractals they are good to make gold and they have a chance for ascended drops too so you can start with tier 1 as they are pretty easy 😉
