Dude you rock. Bottom line is that God has blessed you with many talents and it's a sin not to use them to glorify him with it. You do just that. Thanks for keeping it real. Keep doing your thing. I stand by you and so does God.
I still listen to your music daily on my playlist lol. The Other Side Of Darkness, Scarecrow and the Entirety of Crash have all inspired me heavily in a lot of ways throughout my life. Great production and writing. Can't wait to hear more!
TJ...dang man you are making leaps and bounds with your vocals, and I didn't realize how awesome you are on guitar!! God Bless you bro and keep singin!!
Dang wish I could play like that. One word, AWESOME! I need to get back into playing again. This song has inspired me. Thanks for that inspiring song. God bless.
Amazing! That versatility! Creativity to do an acoustic version of this song, with another arrangement (very well done)! Very good! I liked so much and I will share. Hugs from Brazil!
Today I spent some time with my dad, watched a movie, and prayed. Tomorrow I will be spending time with family all day and praying when I get the chance?
I'm sorry if I came across that way, but that's not what I'm trying to say at all! You guys are one of my favorite bands. I have both your albums on my shelf right behind me. Chris is on my list of top Christian guitarists in music. Please don't get the idea that I'm hating on you or encouraging a fire/brimstone approach. I actually hate it because it pushes people away and has grown very cliche.
Look, I know I've upset a lot of people; I don't think everyone got my main point. Let me start by saying that I love Decyfer Down. I have both their albums on my shelf. I support them all the way and am ministered to by their music. I was just asking a simple question. Why the tattoos? Is that so wrong?
Yes, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength." That's the greatest, Jesus said, but then there was the first He said to Moses, "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me."
Well, it's still a song no matter what? xD But yeah, it is an old song from the album "End of Grey", and back then TJ wasn't the lead singer, if that's what you meant. we'll just have to guess the chords until someone writes them down ^^
I know the bible says it man lol, I'm just saying you know, oh well I guess he's doomed for disobeying. I'm not trying to be a wise ass towards you by the way, just expressing my thoughts on the whole thing. Anyway, doesn't even matter, amazing music, love this version so much its crazy haha.
Yeah, ya can't use someone else's words or actions as evidence of your own holiness, the thing is that, we're all held accountable for everything we say and do. Being able to quote verses from scripture doesn't warrant you holiness neither does condemning "sinners". We're all sinners, get over it, but we try to do good. We all make mistakes, doesn't mean ya can't try again. For all the Christians that don't agree with me, just remember to operate from God's love and look into your own soul first. Peace.
You are absolutely correct and there is nothing wrong with those who don't know Christ in thinking "Oh, he's no different than me. I'm fine living the way I have been." Everyone was made right with God through their Savior's death. I am tattooed as is my wife and we both play/sing in our praise band at church. I am certain that Christ has forgiven my transgressions just as he did with prostitutes, tax collectors and the those who nailed Him to the cross. Faith saves, not ink free skin.
Jesus pointed out flaws when He went to the temple, and He being perfect; it means that protesting something that is against scripture makes you in the right. If the Bible says not to pierce or mark your body, it isn't saying that disliking the sin means you dislike the person. Like a brother who loves his sibling, if we voice what is right or wrong to eachother, it is out out of love and concern, I applaud the few who are willing to be disliked for expressing what we should(or shouldn't) do.
And saying that God just accepts us for who we are is no excuse. I fully agree that we are flawed beings and can never be perfect and desperately need the saving grace of Jesus Christ. My question then is, why add to your hopeless situation. Walking into sin with your eyes wide open with the mindset of "God will forgive me later" is so dangerous, that I couldn't even begin to describe it.
I am with TJ with this one. If you think that quoting Leviticus 19:28 and others make us that are ink up feel bad it is not. God was talking to Moses and Israel (old law) but we are living in the new law and the love of God and he gave his son for our sins. Btw, I have two tattoos and handicap. We need to love each other as Bros and Sister in Christ and not hating each other and just love the non-believers because they are not saved (yet) and how we touch them if we hating each other?
I apologize for getting in your business with Josh, but...EXCUSE ME!? How can God be a sinner? Sin defined is going against God, so how can God go against...Himself?!?
All I'm saying is that an unsaved person can look at your tattoos and think, "Oh, he's no different than me. I'm fine living the way I have been." It happens man.
I think many of you are forgetting that as followers of Jesus Christ, we are not to follow the law of the Old Testament. We are told that we are to follow the teachings of the New Testament. Not that the OT is completely unimportant. But it's not what we are to live by anymore. And I really don't think that Jesus has a problem with our ink. Especially not when it's done to glorify Him and the talents and gifts he has brought to our lives in order to do His work.
The voice is great, and the guitar work is fantastic! Great acoustic work, TJ! I only have one problem. Why are Christian musicians covered in tattoos these days? It kinda takes away from the whole purpose of being a Christian band...
Silver Eagle we are a wonderful creation. It’s our souls we need to worry about. Our skin is a masterpiece. So what if he has tats. I bet your pastor under his suit and tie has a tat or at least an earring of some sort.
Oh I'm well aware my friend, I grew up in a christian enironment, but I wasn't saying thats what he was doing. I don't want to get into a debate on this so this will be my last comment on the whole thing, but I'm just saying, we can't say whether it is out of love or not with everything you as a person are told (as far as following a rule/order). Basically I'm just trying to say I strongly disagree with what eagle was saying. If TJ wants to express himself with tattoos, let him do so! :) done!
And to Brian C, I'm fully aware of my planks. I hate them. Pray for deliverance from them every day. It is part of our mission as Christians to help our brothers become aware of their flaws. My question for you is, Jesus did wash away all our sins, but does that give us an excuse to openly walk into it?
Quoting the Bible isn't condemning anyone, we don't have the right to condemn anyone. If a father tells his young child not to run with scissors , and the child's friend repeats it to him, it isn't to be taken offensively. Take it or leave it, but i can tell it is out of love =)
I'm sorry, but I'm not understanding you. If God clearly says not to mark your body, then He's not going to use body markings...something AGAINST His work FOR His work. The Bible also says that you're either for Christ or against Him. If marking your body is not for Christ, and the Bible says it's not, then it's against Him. Can't argue with Scripture
May everyone reading this find the Lord and feel his blessing he gave us all on the cross before it's too late 🙏🙏🙏

I still listen to your music daily on my playlist lol. The Other Side Of Darkness, Scarecrow and the Entirety of Crash have all inspired me heavily in a lot of ways throughout my life. Great production and writing. Can't wait to hear more!

You can tell when a vocalist uses Singing Success! This guy has great control over his voice.
TJ, great stuff here, bro. I listened to End of Grey, I cannot say how many times this past week on ear buds at work.
TJ really does Caleb's vocals justice. End of Grey was the best Decyfer Down has done. Love these guys.
Beautiful. Praise God.
Excellent!
Very nice, I like it!

ughhhhh please show us how to play these songs!? please? just fading and this one... please lol
And I've studied most of the Bible, been in church my whole life, and have never heard of God's seven spirits. You're speaking Greek now.
Well, it's still a song no matter what? xD
But yeah, it is an old song from the album "End of Grey", and back then TJ wasn't the lead singer, if that's what you meant.
we'll just have to guess the chords until someone writes them down ^^
God is perfect. He doesn't mess up. Says so in the Bible.
I'd like to hear TJ sing "Renegade" by Styx.
My goal is to be as good as a guitar player as him.
SOMEONE GIVE ME THE TABS OR THE CHORDS FOR THIS!
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Could you do me a favor and tell me the in-depth title of your religion please?
I kind of want him to make a song with Aaron Lewis from Staind or the lead singer of Incubus..
Totally agree
I apologize for getting in your business with Josh, but...EXCUSE ME!? How can God be a sinner? Sin defined is going against God, so how can God go against...Himself?!?
Hi God, how are you?
That's not a nylon acoustic it's an 8-string steel string acoustic but he's still amazing lol
I can't even read the tap because of the Mike position
All I'm saying is that an unsaved person can look at your tattoos and think, "Oh, he's no different than me. I'm fine living the way I have been." It happens man.
All tattoos show where you’ve been. Even the Master carried scars
ilike

*Confused face*
What did God do, exactly?
And to Brian C, I'm fully aware of my planks. I hate them. Pray for deliverance from them every day. It is part of our mission as Christians to help our brothers become aware of their flaws. My question for you is, Jesus did wash away all our sins, but does that give us an excuse to openly walk into it?
What gives you the right to call me the name of God's most hated enemy?
Quoting the Bible isn't condemning anyone, we don't have the right to condemn anyone. If a father tells his young child not to run with scissors , and the child's friend repeats it to him, it isn't to be taken offensively. Take it or leave it, but i can tell it is out of love =)

What is your god's name? What do you call yourself? When someone asks you what you are, you can't say that you're a "GOD". What are you?
